I am giving this company 5 stars because David(an owner of Mr. Appliance) was very easy to work with on dealing with an issue. He seems to value his customer service and reputation. The girls in the office are also very nice and helpful.

After reading three 1 star reviews of this company here on Unilocal, not only was I hesitant to try them, I tried pretty much everyone I could think of instead of them to fix my Vino Temp Wine Refrigerator. Only problem was, this was the only place I could find that would work on this appliance. Seriously — I called 10 other places first — including the three references the manufacturer recommended(none of which would work on this appliance). So what’s a girl to do? I figured all I had to lose was the price of a service call. I called on Monday; they were able to come out on Tuesday. The tech called me from his truck 20 minutes before he arrived to say he was on his way. He was able to assess the problem with the wine refrigerator within 5 minutes of looking at it — the compressor was frozen(which was exactly what my husband assumed it was) and had to be replaced. Cost — over $ 600 for parts and labor. A comparable new wine refrigerator could be purchased for between $ 1,000-$ 1,200 — which the tech pointed out. We also talked about how most of the repairs he does on this unit is the computerized panel — which is also about a $ 600 repair — he rarely replaces the compressors; though when he does, he gets them from another company which has a better product. He said to order the part for the computer panel, it is not unusual to take 6 months to get the product from the manufacturer. He said if it was him, he would not recommend the repair work be done. We also discussed other wine refrigerators he worked on(and granted he only gets calls on ones that are broken); no manufacturer stands out as better or worse than another. It was worth the price of the service call to learn all this, even though we ultimately decided to just buy a new wine refrigerator. I don’t doubt that the reviewers who had bad experiences with this company did in fact have bad experiences. Hopefully the owner has taken note and has taken steps to resolve the problems experienced by those before me. My experience was good. My only criticism, which is a small one, is that when I talked to the scheduler on the phone, she said parts for this unit could take a couple of weeks if they had to order them. According to the tech, if it was the computer panel, it might have taken months to get that part. The phone person must have been thinking of the compressor part(two weeks on a part would have been fine; six months would have been too long); but this is a very minor criticism and could have just been a slight miscommunication or misunderstanding on my part. In any event, I would definitely give this company another try in the event that we needed service on one of our appliances in the future.

My Samsung Dishwasher(just over one year old) was not working. It had a blinking light which did not correspond to any of the codes in the owners manual, so I set out to find a Samsung Authorized service rep to help me out. I found Mr. Appliance on a Google search and the girl on the phone said that they did work on Samsung, which was a relief, because the other 3 places I called did not. The repair tech shows up on time. He smells of body odor and cigarettes.(My wife could still smell it when she came home an hour after he left) He seemed to have no idea what was wrong with it. I went into the next room to use the computer, but I can hear him make a phone call where he asks somebody if they’ve ever worked on a Samsung dishwasher! They don’t seem to have any answers for him. He finishes the conversation saying, «yeah, it’s like that.» After a long quiet pause, he say’s confidently says, «It needs a new control board.» I ask him how he knows and he say’s it’s because it’s draining water, but nothing else. I ask him what the blinking light means. He doesn’t know. He say’s I should look it up on the Internet. He just knows it’s «the brain.» He estimates $ 500 to fix it, which is what I paid for the dishwasher. I’m convinced he didn’t know what was wrong and $ 500 would cover anything. All this Samsung knowledge and experience cost me around $ 90 plus my afternoon off work to meet with him. He said he’d have the owner call me, since he felt bad about charging me when he didn’t know what the code meant. I feel like a fool for paying. Owner never called. I bought a new dishwasher and installed it. It was $ 500.

I had a similar experience as Laura H. The technician was great but the office was a hot mess. It took almost a month, about 10 calls from me, and three appointments cancelled by Mr. Appliance to get my stove fixed. I missed two days of work because of these people. If they didn’t have the parts then why did they schedule the appointments? Disaster. Avoid Mr. Appliance.

I really worry when I read bad reviews. However, my father-in-law recommended Mr. Appliance so that was good enough for me to give them a try and I’ll glad I did. I appreciated an e-mail 1 day ahead of schedule giving me a two hour window when they were supposed to come. And a phone call just prior to arriving. With three kids, I need all the reminders I can get. Gordon arrived and in just a few minutes knew what was causing our freezer to leak water and went to work on it after letting me know how much it would cost. I have absolutely no complaints and would be happy to recommend them.

I have yet to experience a break down in any of my appliances, but I previously worked for them and it was one of the best places to work. I recently worked at a place where they were the epitome of poor customer service, but at Mr. Appliance they are so customer oriented and customers are number one there. At Mr. Appliance they are always all about the customers! They are also great technicians as well. Mr. Appliance is the best company to go with.

Contacted Mr. Appliance through phone number on google search. I have an expensive grill that needs to be repaired. They are apparently very busy so they made an appointment for me about a week out. I was okay with that. I understand that they are busy. They asked for my email so that they could email me with a 2 hour window the night before my appointment. Never got an email. Technician shows up at my house and calls because, of course, I am not home. I contact the office and explain that I never got the email. I have waited over a week for the appointment and need the grill fixed. They said that they could come the following day and that they would call me later in the day and let me know the«2 hour window». Again! No call! What the heck, people? Luckily, I was home the next day when the technician showed up. It wasn’t the technicians fault. The office seemed to be chaos. I called several times and they were respectfully, clueless. The same lady answers every time and if she is playing«dumb» she is doing an excellent job of it. She can’t answer a single question. The technician was friendly, respectful and worked cleanly and quickly. He promised to get back to me in «about a day» with an estimate for fixing my grill. Five days later, I have heard nothing. I call the office today and they apologize as they have«overbooked» their repairman. They will call me back tomorrow. Two hours later, I get a call back. Surprise! Same lady. So sorry that we wasted all your time and your $ 75.00. We can’t fix your grill(with very little explanation), too bad, so sad. Can the technician call me back? No. Good grief.

Excellent work. David McCall has been to my house many times. I have been impressed with his courtesy, professionalism, and the way that he treats my family and children with kindness and respect. Highly recommended.
