I wish I would have read these reviews before ever taking my son here. I took my son in to this place for the first time over 2 years ago. He saw Dr. Sehati. We went in for a tooth cleaning and found out that he had a cavity. We returned a week later and after a short squeal in the dentist chair, my oldest held still for Dr. Sehati and got through the filling with no problem. Almost a year later we received a reminder card in the mail stating is was time for my son to get his teeth cleaned again. He’s going into 1st grade next year and need to get his teeth examined for school anyway, so I called and made the appointment. I was lucky I called when I did as they were able to get my boy in very soon. When he went in for his teeth cleaning it was a woman that was getting ready for work this time, and not the male Mr. Sehati from before. He got through the cleaning with ease and held still for her with ease. He had a loose tooth in the front bottom row that was almost coming out. The dentist began to lecture us on getting the tooth out. Now, My little one is a sensitive boy, and tends to over react, but what she did next was uncalled for and traumatizing! NOONE likes the dentist, tools all in your moth, sharp things, spit, pain, blood! ugh! So anyways, Lovely Dentist lady decided to take the spit sucker upper(For lack of a better term… sorry) and TRY, yes TRY to suck my sons FIRSTLOOSETOOTHOUTOFHISMOUTH!!! He had been fine until then, but when this happened he lost it! He freaked out and had made up his mind that he was not going back to see her. He cried and was scared and she laughed and said, ‘I thought it would work.” We had made a follow up appointment for 3 weeks later as that is what they had available. My son had 3 cavities at the time and he was to get them filled at the follow up. About a week before his appointment I received a call from a woman at the office explaining that my son needed x-rays when he went in. HE had just had them done. I asked her why they needed more and I was put on hold. She came back on the phone and told me he needs a lot of work on his teeth so they need more pictures. UMMMMM something doesn’t sound right. Sounds like they were trying to get paid for extra stuff from the insurance, but I don’t know. He went in with his father for the fillings. He was scared as soon as he saw HER! He didn’t want to go in, she didn’t even have the tools in his mouth and he was already crying and screaming because he was traumatized from what SHE had done. Yes, he over reacted, and no one was even doing anything to him, but he was scared of her. We were given the number to children’s specialty dentist in Oxnard and were told to take him there as they will give him something to drink when he gets there that will make him drowsy and calm him down… this is what she said. We took the paper but scheduled yet another appointment at this office as the Children’s place in Oxnard did not have any available appointments for months. Belinda, who I believe does the scheduling for the office, called my day before my sons appointment(Mind you we had waited 3 weeks, and had talked to him and he was ready to go), and said she had to cancel it. I said okay and it was re-scheduled for 2 weeks later. One week after that call I received another call, from Belinda again. Again she called to cancel my sons appointment and reschedule it for yet another week later. I explained my frustration with the office and told her that I hope this was the last time as my son has these cavities and I have a job and cannot keep making and canceling appointments, to which Belinda responded, «Everyone’s schedule is important.» After I got off the phone with Belinda I called back and a very nice woman(Receptionist maybe) answered the phone. I explained my frustration and she completely understood. I asked for the Dr. to call me and I was informed I would receive a call back. Hours later I received a call from Belinda. She left me a message explaining that the appointment she had given me was the earliest one when the female dentist as she was the only one that would see my son and I could call back if I had any questions. I called back and spoke to Belinda. I asked her why no one else would work on my son. She explained that Dr. Sehati Probably wouldn’t work on my boy because«well, you know how he acted last time.» I explained to her that my son had in fact seen Dr. Sehati previously and had absolutely no issues with him, I further explained that my son«freaked out» with the other dentist because she tried to suck his loose tooth out, and she had traumatized him! She said we could try with Dr. Sehati but she knows he wont take him. She was blaming my son. She kept cancelling because no one except tooth sucker will work on my boy! AVOID!!! ATALLCOSTS!

Go here and regret it! He did work to me that was unnecessary, he did root canals that I had to get redone and crowns and fillings that fell out. Most likely that I did not need done. He even complained when I needed more Novocain because my insurance would not pay for it. I took my brother and wife there and they had similar experiences. The reason I went here was my insurance and yes it was cheap but everything he did had to be redone. Imagine going through that pain twice or even a third time. Please don’t do it to yourself.
