We did not set out to go to dinner here. We were going to try the place next door but they had not opened. we decided to go in for a glass of wine while we waited. The staff was so pleasant and the atmosphere so comfortable we decided to look at a menu. I was not aware that they served a full menu. I thought it was, just wine and small plates. I was pleasantly surprised, ordered the baked bri appetizer with roasted garlic and apricot spread, yum! Spinach salad with bacon goat cheese, yum again! The special was seared scallops. Cooked perfectly with asparagus and bacon, yes more bacon. It must be why I was so pleased with my meal. I will go back for sure. Camarillo lacks variety in good dining. This will go on my list of places locally for a great meal, great wine and great service.

Ah… Can someone say YUMM!!! Went in today with hubby and everything was awesome! I don’t know what magic the chef does to the Crème Brulee but it was heaven! Our meal was tasty and the waitress was super friendly! We also had the baked brie and it was yummy for my tummy. We will be going back ASAP!

I was able to find this place while I was shopping at Camarillo Outlet. I just happened to find this place searching around the town to eat. I ordered caprice salad which was very fresh. It’s arugula salad lightly toasted with olive oil, salt, pepper, and sliced parmesan cheese on top. It was just something that I enjoyed after walking around the neighborhood trying to find a restaurant. I liked the clean and light flavor of the salad. I realized that they specialized in local wines. I got to taste one of their local wines and it was very flavorful. I ordered pinot noir but forgot what the name was. It had strong fruity aroma and a hint of spice to it. The alcohol content was higher than normal as well. It made me relaxed after long walk and got me buzzed a little. The most interesting about this restaurant to me was the interior. It was like walking into some exotic antique shop or some home from the old age. While I was eating there, I felt like I was being invited to someone’s home. The atmosphere was very warming and quiet that I was able to relax into. I really enjoyed the food and time I spent there in the late afternoon.

I have been here a couple of evenings. We were looking for a nice place to hang out after dining across the street. I am not really a drinker so we had the wine flights. Even for a wine novice I enjoyed the wine and the atmosphere. John is very personable and shared knowledge of the wines as well as some lovely chit chat. On our second visit, we decided to try the food. We ordered a few appetizers which were all delicious. You’ve gotta try the ahi tartare. While watching the chef prepare it from my seat at the bar I was concerned when there was no avocado. I had no reason to worry because I soon realized that just meant there was a lot more tuna than other places give you and it was so amazing that I didn’t miss the avocado at all.

I love this place! The staff are polite, friendly and attentive. The food is top quality and it’s entertaining watching the chief create tasteful food that has great eye appeal which is created with two toaster ovens and convection burners. On a busy day it may take a little while to get your great food but it’s well worth the wait! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who looks for a quality experience.

Why would you write me back when your restaurant had bad service. Someone should have at least offer us bread or something to get while we wait for 1 hour and half for our food. That would have been good customer service. I will Never return to winery bistro.

Let me start by saying the place is cute, the food was great and the staff was super sweet! We made reservations for 20 however being mentally and not physically ready for a big group does not cut it. After ordering the caprice salad as my appetizer, it took me having to ask for my salad after waiting for about 30 minutes to have it brought to my table. Our table alone sat 8 people. 3 of those people ordered pizza. 5 of us ate our entire meal and the other three sat and watched us the entire time. Other people, in our party, who came in after ordered something different and received their food before the people at our table. The pizzas didn’t come out until 20 minutes after we finished our meal and began to pay our bill. Those three asked for their pizza to be boxed up and took them as take out instead. While all this went on, the owner was completely oblivious to what was going on because he was busy talking to patrons at another table. When he approached our table, he asked how the food was and that is when he was informed that people from our table hadn’t eaten yet. He apologized for the wait and never came back to our table. Needless to say, we were not pleased :-(

The entire dining area looks elegant. $ 9 taste 3 wines is not a bad deal, which, the taste portion is not little, although the $ 9 can be waived if you buy a bottle. Food is not bad too. We ordered a lamp sandwiches and a chicken breast with goat cheese. But the highlight is the leek cream soup! People are friendly. The only downside is there is nothing open around the restaurant after dinner(other than other restaurants)… Most businesses around that area close at 6pm or earlier…

This is where I love to have dinner when I’m at Camarillo. I love their Grenache and whatever specials they have. You can’t go wrong with any of the dishes they have. I recommend sitting at the counter, you get to watch the chef in action.

We’ll go back for sure. I usually don’t like rosé but the Syrah version was light and no sweet. Cab was excellent. Didn’t get to try the Chardonnay(they ran out) so I’ll have to wait till next time. They changed my mind about rosé so I should give the Chard. a chance. Got cheese pizza was good. The tang of the cheese was a good contrast with the caramelized unions. Great carpaccio.

Our favorite place, period. Super friendly staff, outstanding wines, excellent food. I’ve never seen the likes of it. We brought our kids and they asked them questions and really took interest in them and in my wife and I.

My bf suggested dinner here last night but to our surprise when we walked in(yes, the door was open) we were told, «Sorry guys we’re closed.» I honestly thought the owner was joking so I replied, «Seriously?» He then informed me, «We didn’t think any one was coming in.» Hmmm. This is a restaurant. It’s dinner time. It’s a Thursday. Yet they were closed. Made absolutely no sense to me. We happily took our business to another establishment which was open on a Thursday night. Go figure.

Love e atmosphere, décor and staff. Fast, friendly, and witty. I had the chicken pesto panini, which rocked my socks. Cheese platter, sashimi, you name it, we had it, and none of it was bad. Wine is pretty tasty, and they give you a nice full glass, definitely don’t skimp here. Can’t wait to go back!

We tried to go here 3 different times and each time it was closed. Finally the third time we took a phone pic of the hours… they are closed Sun/Mon/Tues, all day. We finally made it in on a Saturday afternoon for a wine flight and some tuna tartar. We sat outside and it took FOREVER for anyone to come out with menus. We ordered the one flight, waters and the tuna appetizer. It took about 5 minutes and the gentleman brought out 2 glasses of red wine; sat them down without letting us know which was which… we looked at each other in confusion as the man just walked away. We waited, thinking he would be back with the third wine and water but he didn’t come back for another good 10 minutes or so. Once he did arrive, I asked which wine was what… he explained that they were both the first wine on the flight, he believed it to be a pinot. We only ordered one flight… he explained that since it was busy and we waited a long while, he would pour us both the wines. Nice gesture, which we appreciated. There was only the one guy working it seemed, and we started to feel bad for him rather than ourselves. The tuna tartar was good. Not great, but it was good. The wine was the same. Nothing grand, but it was okay. If you have the time to sit and wait and have good company with you, I would recommend you try for yourself. Perhaps your experience will be better than ours was. Very pricy for just a glass of wine at around $ 14! A flight was just a couple dollars more and we ended up getting a great deal as he poured us 3 glasses each(not full glasses) for the price of one flight. This however isn’t the«norm». Food pricing is a little high also for what they have. I was really expecting a better experience… oh well.

Shannon(Tasting Room Manager) was amazing and needs a bottle named after her! A quick stop at the Bella Victorian Wine Tasting Boutique proved to be an added bonus to my birthday week excursion. We wanted light appetizers to take the edge off before heading to my birthday celebration dinner — unfortunately, the kitchen wasn’t slated to be open till 5pm. Shannon was so accommodating. She brought out toast, cheese, and marinated garlic to help quench the hunger pains. We decided to stay and do 2 wine flights. Wow! Was I surprised! My wife and I belong to a number of wineries from Temecula to Napa and BVWT wines were very interesting. So interesting we left with 2 of their bottles: Red Trolley & Rose. To top it off, when Shannon found out it was my birthday, she brought out chocolate truffles in honor of my special day! We are definitely coming back. Thanks Shannon and BVWT!!!
