This was another first for me and I have to say it was a great experience. I had the #21 with rice noodles, shrimp, and beef. I asked for extra veggies and if they could make it spicy. The lady asked how spicy from 1 to 10 I said 7. Needless to say 7 was super spicy I couldn’t imagine what ten would be like. Only reason I didn’t like what I had was they didn’t take the shrimp tails off so you had to burn your hand to take them off. Definitely going to come back.

First time here and we experienced a wonderful delicious smell of herbs and spices as you walk through the door. Gets your tastebuds flowing. The portions are enough to feed two people or more depending on your appetite. Our server Casey was an amazing server, highly knowledgable of every item on the menu. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this location!!!

Trying this place for the first time for lunch. Entrance a little hidden. We started with the vege egg rolls. They were lightest I have ever had. A nice dipping sauce was served as a perfect accompaniment. It was not thick and syrupy but light and tasty. Also had the fried tofu appetizer. The tofu was light and crispy cut into bite sized pieces. A soy based sauce was served with it. Delicious. The beef phở was quite tasty. Can’t wait to bring my son and his wife here.

One of my favorite spots in Camarillo. They will even allow you to order from the kids menu if you don’t want a regular portion. Oh, be sure to try their coffee; fantastic!

This place has some pretty good phở. I really like how extensive their menu is as well. Not to mention they have a pretty nice beer selection. My roommate and I had to stop ourselves from going here too often because we were going here almost once a week at one point! I’d highly recommend a traditional phở bowl or some of the steak cooked in their Vietnamese dishes. The spring rolls are delicious as well.

I like Phở and have visited many a restaurant both good and bad. However, my wife has never been to a Vietnamese restaurant. Since Basil and Mint was nearby, I crossed my fingers hoping it was good. It doesn’t have the lines or crazy energy/vibe that you’ll find at a similar restaurant in LA. Those places have their serves running constantly to get orders moving. Basil & Mint has a more understated atmosphere in keeping with Camarillo. That being said, the menu is very familiar and encompasses more than just Phở but the entire breath of Vietnamese cuisine. We stuck to the Phở, two filet mignon’s. It was awesome! The soup base had great flavor, the meat was plentiful as well as the basil. More importantly for me, my wife liked the meal and wants to come back to sample the other non-phở delights! I think we got out of there for less than $ 25 so it was a cheap date night for me… all the better!

My first time ordering take out and it was delicious. I ordered the #24 wonton soup and the #1 egg rolls. They wrapped everything really nicely and it was ready in 20 min. I also had a special request to make the wonton soup spicy which they did. Delicious. Looking forward to try dining in. Update: Dining in was even better. I had the fresh squeezed margarita. It was refreshing and reasonably priced at $ 8. I ordered the #58 with soft noodles. The portion was huge. I had to take the second half home. I also had #51 which were the veggie fried rolls. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I think every single person working in the restaurant helped me in some way when I dined in. Truly great service!!! I would definitely recommend dining in.

As soon as I walked in the front door, I knew this place would be good. The décor was appropriate, the music was nice and modern, and the Feng shui was on point. When the food was delivered it was piping hot/fresh. The chicken Phở was ever so tasty. I’ve been going back for take out, at least once a week for over 3 months now.

This place was just Ok. The food tasted like American style type of Vietnamese food, instead of traditional, plus too salty.

Cool corner restaurant in the Lantana plaza. Never been to whatever place it was before when we lived in Camarillo. Awesome full bar, couldn’t order from it though, was driving another 3 hours. Ordered the cha gio(egg rolls and veggies) were good, perhaps because the clientele isn’t predominantly Asian they didn’t serve it with the usual toppings, just two pieces of lettuce and fish sauce. Also, the phở wasn’t too bad. Cool atmosphere, watched a college basketball game off to the side of the bar while waiting for our food. It was busy on a Monday night, so service was a little behind.

This place is thee best in Camarillo. Been coming since they opened and it never disappoints. I thought nothing could beat happy hour prices, and the delicious regular menu, but now there’s a full bar!

Hmmm. well, we had a mixed plate experience… we enjoyed the food going in but we got sick so what can I say? Maybe one of the workers was spreading some pathogens, or the food itself was tainted, can’t say for sure, but my whole family had a mild case of montezuma’s revenge for a bit. Too bad too, because we enjoyed everything else about the place. Maybe we’ll give them another try someday. just not right away.

It was a great place. It had a lot of variety on their menu. Place was huge. Although it was not well-lit at the time we went there. But food was great. We had the fried egg rolls, fried chicken wings & fresh shrimp spring rolls for appetizer. We also had the beef house salad which was amazing! I loved the salad dressing. Of course we all had the house beef rice noodle soup as this is the main reason why you would go to a Phở restaurant right? It was a great experience. Close to the Camarillo outlets. Hope to visit again one day.

Can’t believe I never wrote a review for this place. I like their bun here, 4 stars for location and bun, 3 stars for phở. I am not a fan of the phở… particularly the broth. Location is great, I enjoy the outdoor seating. Service is ok, mostly on par with Vietnamese but not what I expected with the location and price.

Possibly one of the best Vietnamese restaurants we have visited in California. As some have mentioned already, this place is tough to find as it’s tucked in the corner. Walk around a bit, and you’ll find it eventually. The food, especially on a cold night, was very comforting. Deep broth, nicely cooked noodles, tender and seasoned meats, fresh veggies, and a variety of condiments. What more to ask for? The kids enjoyed their broken rice, plus noodles and soup, the husband finished quickly and asked to order more for take-out, and I was happy with my chicken banh mi. Maybe there was MSG, maybe there wasn’t. But over all, a satisfying meal. The ambiance is casual and cozy, good for families. Prices are very fair, portions are generous, and the service was nice — at least when we visited. Not sure if we’ll ever get to visit Camarillo again, but if we did, we will surely stop by Basil & Mint again.

Phở dac biet + extra noodles was delicious. Definitely worth the price. The chicken in the spring rolls was a little dry, so I’ll try the pork next time i come. Basil and Mint is one of the best phở places in the area!

I’ve eaten here twice — it’s the first time I’ve ever had phở and it didn’t disappoint! The servers are always really friendly, the food is quick, the portions are huge(I always get three lunches out of one bowl of phở). Great options for vegans/vegetarians. Try their vegetarian egg rolls! Best I ever had.

Make sure to check in to Unilocal you’ll get deliciously crisp egg rolls for doing so! Got the meatball and Round Eye steak phở, came with basil, jalapeños, sprouts and lime. We asked for a side of mint as well. It all tasted yummy and there was plenty left over! Awesome good. Will come here again soon.

This is a PS to my previous review: I’d never really tried«Fried Ice Cream» before as it sounded to me to be several levels of wrong. It was a birthday tonight so the wait staff brought it gratis. Long story short: I’m going back to have that asap! Crazy delicious.

This place may be a bit difficult to find if you’ve never been here. which was my case. Luckily, my friend said that her gps told her it was closer to Lantana St. It was and was tucked away in the corner. Came in on a Friday afternoon and it was kind of empty. We were seated after one of the guys wiped the table down. My friend and I both ordered the broken rice combo dish which came with your choice of 2 meats. I ordered the grilled pork and bbq beef ribs. Our orders came out in a timely manner and had a nice presentation. Honestly, I have had better grilled pork but it still wasn’t bad. I think it wasn’t as tasty as some of the others I’ve had. The bbq beef ribs were better and more flavorful. The service started off great. We were checked on regularly and all was good. It quickly declined when we were done with our food and wondering where our waiter was. My friend looked back towards the kitchen and said she saw him looking down at his phone –_-. I’m not going to say anything because I don’t know the circumstance and I didn’t see him, but if that was the case that doesn’t look great to the customers. I would come back to try the phở.

One of the better phở restaurants in Camarillo that has a diverse menu option. Phở, Dry phở(vermicelli) variety soup noodles rice dishes sandwiches and appetizers Never too crowded or short staffed. Always have food at table within 10 mins. Service is very accommodating and helpful. Prices are about $ 10-$ 15pp during lunch.

A little hidden gem in Camarillo, literally hidden, as I had a difficult time locating this place. On a Monday night, I had a craving for phở and consulted Unilocal. This place popped up and I was trying to beat the clock of their 9pm closing time. My GPS failed me and led me into the residential area. Be sure to include the word«North Lantana» in your GPS search. With 10 minutes to spare, I finally made it inside. Since I get phở tai($ 7.95) at pretty much every phở join I visit, this time was no different. With a Unilocal check in, you get 2 free egg rolls! The lady was super nice and didn’t hurry me at all as I was the only customer left. The soup broth was flavorful and not salty, which means no MSG! The amount of noodles and meat were also quite generous. The bean sprouts were fresh and crunchy. I also enjoyed the thinly sliced onions. The egg rolls were also tasty, but not greasy. All in all, I’d eat here again if I’m in the area and craving phở. Service was fantastic. Finally, I finished everything and was on my way around 9:30pm. The staff was very patient with me while doing other things. Thanks Basil and Mint Vietnamese Café!
