Ray is a true pro at board building along with the crew. I had three boards glassed that were shaped by the late Butch Towers. They Ray did his magic custom painted and marbolized on the belly of them all. My buddy had 4 made. They are stunning… I had a hard time putting them in the water. they looked so good I almost made them wall hangers. Great Job Ray!!! I have to come by and see your new place.

Backnine just became my favorite shaping shop for ding repairs and I highly recommend their work! I also saw some of the custom shapes Ray is working on and they look great. So whether you want a new board or your current board repaired, Backnine is the place.
I needed my rear fin boxes replaced on my quad-​fin funboard. Not only did Ray do them for less than all other shops in the area, he completed the job in less than two days and they look absolutely perfect!
When I went to pick up my board I had the privilege of chatting with Ray and some of his team. They are great people and the knowledge and love Ray has for his work gives a great vibe to the shop.
I predict Backnine will power carve a well deserved chunk out of the surfboard industry in the near future so do yourself a favor and go see Ray. I promise he will take care of you whether you are looking for a custom shaped board or a board repaired back to perfect condition. Cheers
