My brother has been raving about this place since last year. I’ve passed it a million times and never stopped in. Well I did this one fine morning and it was OK. I mean it’s big and everyone is helpful. They have a nice sitting area in the back, and for when it’s warm they have outside sitting area. Bagels are ok… not the best I’ve had. Prices are decent and the food is decent.

I live in Austin, Texas, but a ex New Yorker. I was craving bagels, and found Bean and Bagel Café, online. I also found out they shipped! So, out of all the bagel shops, they were the most reasonable, in their prices for shipping. They came two days later, vacuumed packed and delicious! I definitely recommend them! And John the owner was great, in handling my order!

I moved from Long Island about six years ago, but Bean & a Bagel is still a tradition when we go home. My mom and her husband pass it on the way to work each morning and have stopped there several times a month for breakfast for years. They always have positive things to say about the family that runs the business. For Christmas we got really lucky and my family shipped us good ol’ NY bagels over here to Florida!!! How cool is that?!? The bagels arrived individually wrapped in with a vacuum-like seal and carefully packaged into a box labeled«perishable goods». Guaranteed two day delivery was included likely to keep the quality of the bagels high. To be honest, they did not arrive perfect in quality despite this. They were a bit tough. I don’t know if that has to do with shipping/humidity or how they were cooked that week. Regardless, a little toasting did the trick and they were good to go! I would order these myself in the future after seeing on the website that the prices are entirely reasonable. If I was someone who was not ok with toasting my bagel — I would not order them for the above reason. Even with this flaw we are very happy. A toasted NY bagel is better than a regular FL bagel any day!

Food is okay. Maybe a little over priced. Worst service ever. I ordered a bagel with veggie cream cheese and an acai bowl. After 10 minutes, was told I’d have to wait an additional 10 minutes for the bowl. The bagel had vanilla cream cheese with fruit. When I brought it up to the counter, I was given a horrible attitude, and was barely acknowledged. All in all, bagel was decent, but not worth the attitude.

This is one of the best cafes in the Riverhead area. They have very friendly staff and the food does not taste like it was made out of a machine. I believe they have the best bagels on the whole East End. I defiantly recommend you come to this café

I tried twice in the past week. First time I. I ordered a bagel salt with butter and an everything with cream cheese. Ok it was about 2:30pm. But the bagel were hard I mean hard hard. Had to rip it with your teeth to get a bite and the butter was melted! The bagel wasn’t hot so how was the butter melted? Crazy lol. I guess butter was warm idk. So like i said because it was late that day I gave them a pass tried them three days later at 10:20. Walked in no salt bagels!! no everything bagels! no onion bagels!!! Few other bins empty but those are my go to. Bought a coffee was weak. 3strikes yeeeerrrrrrrr out!!! Best of luck with your adventure.

Bagels = Good. However, service is extremely slow, and the coffee station(self-service only) is set up horribly. I could never make this my Sunday morning bagel stop because of this. And, the coffee is only average at best. Guys & gals, you need to pour someone a coffee at 7am on a weekend!
