Nice good brewed beers that they brew right there. Id like to see some more options on the menu for food.

If you’re looking for a good ale house in the middle of what might have been an old edge of the empire trading post or garrison town, the Callicoon Brewing Company has what you need. Their selection of micro brewed ales, pilsners, IPAs, Porters and hard ciders will keep responsible drinkers busy for quite some time. As pubs go, serving pub food, their sandwiches are decent and ample, very ample. Their combo meat sandwich along with a nice Amber ale makes any day a good day. Their pastrami is flavorful and sweet on toasted rye. Come hungry.

Nice little place off the beaten track. I had their porter(along with a Ommegang Table Beer) and it was pretty good. The food was also good. Will be back

My friends and I were visiting from New York City. Mary was the best bartender I’ve ever had. What an awesome woman and staff; truly made our night. Callicoon brewing company was a great time; live music and good drinks is all you need. We will absolutely be back.

After months of my friend and I trying to get together, finally it happened. We wanted something local and fun. The Brewery certainly fit that description. We were there two weeks ago on a Monday. Our waitress Bernie was attentive and very pleasant, checking on us without hovering. 5 stars for the waitress! The décor is a visual smörgåsbord of fun, vintage photos, train memorabilia, twinkling lights, old beverage signs and a bar from here to next Christmas in length. The bar its’ self is worth the visit –it is a work of art from the early 1900’s with a brass cash register from the same era. Hipsters to history buffs will find something of interest at this fine place! And I haven’t even mentioned the food yet. We ordered burgers. Which I rarely order because no one ever cooks it right. It was cooked to perfection or maybe I should say not cooked. I like my burgers pretty much raw, just cooked on the outside and barely warm in the middle. Bacon blue cheese burger nirvana! My friends medium rare burger was perfect also. The hand cut fries are outstanding. We lingered long after our food was finished and the plates cleared. –months of catching up. We were comfortable laughing and giggling and never felt like they were anxious for us to leave. They even thanked us for coming when we left. What an amazing place.

I have been here a few times and enjoyed the food about a year ago, but came back to give the place another try, and when we approached the bar and ask for a drink the«bartender» asks«well, what’s in it» and when we weren’t positive of all ingredients, she responds with«well if you drink it, you should know what’s in it.» I believe the bartenders name was Mary, and she should be reminded not to make her gusts feel stupid, and that it is her job to know how to make common drinks, not her patrons. Not only was she extremely obnoxious, loud and rude, but she was not very clean in the way that she would fill glasses with ice using her bare hands, and kept putting her foot up on the shelf that CLEAN glasses were stored on. How is this ok?! are they to cheap to buy an ice scoop or is she just that lazy?! This could be a really nice place is the staff were more professional and friendly. We finished one round and went to another bar in town which was much more welcoming and professional. I don’t think we will be back after this weekends visit.

One major thing that needs to be addressed, more staff! When you have gigs and events going on one bartender is not enough. They need at least 3! The food is always pretty good, the beer selection can be a little better. Beware of double charging for drinks, especially if you have a double. Once was charged $ 18 for a double Jameson and ginger.

Visited the area in the fall and stopped in for lunch with two friends on a Tuesday right around lunch time. The place was virtually empty. The bar tender doubled as the bar tender and our waitress and was very friendly. The beer selection here is good and the beers were tasty. The lunch menu was basic but satisfying, although the sandwiches and fries seemed overly greasy(maybe the oil want hot enough as the place was so slow?). Service was efficient. Popcorn machine with free popcorn was a nice touch and made us thirsty to drink more.

We recently visited the area for a weekend away and ventured into Callicoon for dinner. There’s not much going on in the area so options are limited. CBC was recommended to us and we were glad that we went. The atmosphere was light and friendly and they had the whole front open for an airy feel. We were seated promptly and had a waitress that told us she had just started the day before. I didn’t catch her name but she was very sweet and attentive. The food that we ordered was great ! Chicken sandwich and a burger. Which although nothing ground breaking — you could tell everything was made with fresh quality ingredients. They had a decent selection of beer too. Tables, bar seating and pool table in the back room available. Great place to hang out for drinks and food in the area.

We tried a flight of 10 beers, lots of options! This place is used to be a fire house, so there’s also lots of space. About 11 seats by the bar, there are lots of tables too. They offer a food menu as well. I ordered a cup of their loaded baked potato soup, excellent with a hint of spiciness. We came to check this place out on a Sunday, it opens at 12 noon.

Came In here on a Friday afternoon, place was super slow — a couple of people at the bar and maybe a table or two. Service was poor considering there was a bartender and waitress working together. Every request was like pulling teeth. We asked for a soda refill(which we were charger for btw) and the waitress said«no rest for the weary». o_o left a good tip anyway. The only thing saving this place IMO from a one star review was the food. I had a hamburger and it was really good. Maybe because we didn’t feel welcome because we weren’t locals and something– but I wouldn’t come back here again. We’ll go spend our $$$$ elsewhere.

Great beer and sandwiches. You have to try the badass pear cider. Try the seasons blackened cat fish or other burgers.

My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed this brewery. Our bartender Mary was very welcoming. After visiting over 20 breweries throughout the country this is one I would recommend.

Only came here for the beer but what a warm and friendly brewery! Stopped in here as my bf and I went exploring and we were so happy to stumble upon this great brewery. The atmosphere is great because you have all of the beer brewin’ and it feels like someone’s home. Loved it. Had the most interesting beer here. The Indra. Composed of curry, cumin, cayenne pepper and kefir lime. Wow what a flavor. The beer even had a spicy finish. I would suggest asking to taste it before you get it because it may not be for everyone. Shout out to Mary, the lovely bar tender who made us feel welcome and provided wonderful service.

I have nothing good to say about this place. I walked in on a busy day, after a tractor pull parade(I’ve seen busier breweries do just fine). The staff was swamped and showed it on their faces. Went up to the bar and the bartender Said to me «this is f***ing crazy». I asked if I could have wait staff bring me a menu to the table and she replied just sit down they’ll find you. 25 min later after my 3rd attempt to flag one down I asked a waitress if I could order a beer, before I got to say«and also a menu» I got a stern«go to the bar for a beer». We went back and forth until I walked out. Poor service. Only good thing was free self serve popcorn but even that had bowls with water still in them I left ANGRY. I’ll never walk in there again.

Really nice look on the outside, and really cool old wooden bar, but the interior is way out of date. Caught somewhere in the 80s. Good is typical, unimpressive bar food, bathrooms are sketchy, and get this: they don’t even brew beer here! Their beer is made in Binghamton, NY. Works in a pinch, but otherwise pass.

Sincerely welcoming staff, relaxing atmosphere, celebrating a mixed theme of a brewery, fire hall, and Irish Pub Their pale ale and porter are very smooth and flavorable. At least a dozen other brews to chose from, including regional microbrews. The owners, waiting staff, and chefs are smiling, friendly and accommodating, offering variation and have a great sandwich menu. Mary, the bartender is very attentive and will keep you laughing with her witty, but kind personality. You certainly won’t have to sit with an empty glass. Folks stop in from all over. Establishment is a big hit! You’ll want to go back !

Simple. Awesome. Authentic. Real people. And even better beer. I was staying at villa Roma, and was bored and tired of the bad food and bad beer. And this place was simply a godsend. It was nice to be In a Real place with character and that amazing smell of beer and BBQ. Don’t go in expecting a dining area. Go in expecting a brewery that has food. 5 stars. Also the people are so real and down to earth no bullsh@t included. Enjoy. I hope this helps. And thank you for your to go beer.

A few more visits, and I’ve decided this place deserves five stars. Because it’s a perfect small town beer hall that offers regional brews(including their own excellent lager) and meaty sandwiches at reasonable prices.(A good sized reuben is $ 9, and that’s the most expensive menu item). The space is large and open, the booths are comfortable and the antique bar is gorgeous. They’re picking up a star for the service. I was there on a Monday afternoon when they got unexpectedly slammed with only one server on. They could have fallen apart, but instead service just slowed a bit. The server mentioned she was slammed, laughed it off, pushed through, and did not share any anxiety she might have been feeling with us. In the end the service wasn’t much slower than what’s typical in some places I’ve been. Impressive. Couple that with the quality, vibe and prices of what they’re doing here, and I don’t see how one could make a better small town beer hall. The world needs more places like this.
