Very fresh food. Went their with my coworkers and everyone loved the food. The reviews don’t justify the place. For me for sure it is 5 stars considering the price and area.

Best seafood in Callahan, but it is one of two places. Food is good and consisten. Giving 4 stars for what and where it is. If it were in another location the rating would be lower.

Arrived here on Friday late afternoon/early evening at 5:10 p.m. There was one other dining party. We were a party of three. This restaurant is nicely decorated and very clean looking. They are set up as a casual counter service concept. We grabbed some menus and had a seat. Their menu is pretty extensive. We decided on an appetizer of fried gator tail, a fried shrimp and oysters with fried okra and french fry dinner, and a fried shrimp and fried catfish filets with double order of cheese grits, and three large drinks. This all came to a total of $ 53.00. After ordering at the counter we retrieved our drinks from the self-serve dispensers and returned to our seats. Approximately 10 – 15 minutes later a server brought our food to the table. The portions were huge. All the food was hot and looked fresh. The gator tail tasted a little gamey for my tastes, but anyone that has had gator before knows that that is the nature of the beast. The catfish, shrimp, oysters were all cooked to perfection. The sides(hush puppies, cheese grits, crinkle cut french fries and okra) were also very good). The staff were very friendly and attentive. The came around and checked on us several times to see if they could get us anything. You can leave a tip one of several ways. First, you can add it to the total at the time you order; or drop cash in the tip bucket at the register; or leave it on your table. I asked and was told all tips are split with all the employees(cashier, server, busboy and cooks). Their service earned them 20% from me tonight. When you are done eating you leave your plates and stuff on the table and they will clear everything away. We left at about 6:15 p.m. And the restaurant was starting to fill up with customers. Overall it was a very pleasant dining experience and we will be back.

Delicious, as always! I’ve been here a few times & it’s been good food and they have nice portions. And, I almost forgot to mention the friendly staff. They greet you when you come in and when you leave. They also seem to love their jobs. All of which makes for a relaxed atmosphere.

Started with gumbo… And was very pleased. I had the fried oysters… And was very pleased. The wife had the fried shrimp… And was very pleased. Great food and plenty of it. Do not pass up in eating here. You are just missing too much.

Not sure how the owner of this establishment can call frozen seafood to include basa and tilapia, a good dining experience… food was below standards and was totally unacceptable. Wife’s «fried shrimp» was soft and not crunchy, snap in your mouth fresh. Being 20 miles from the coast, I would expect fresh shrimp to be included on the menu, not the frozen crap that one can get from Sam’s Club… Not to mention the grab ass going on by the workers and the managerial staff. Wholly an experience to be forgotten… NEVERAGAIN!

We ordered the Fest for two and while it was a lot of food when taking the sides into account, most was inedible. The grits were the worst I’ve ever had in my life, flavorless and devoid of the creamy feel that makes grits so good. We ordered our seafood blackened. The shrimp was delicious, the only saving grace to the meal. The crab tasted like mediocre breading with no crab meat and mine was burned. The scallops were overcooked to the point of rubber and they were cold to top it off! The fish was burned so badly we had to ask for it to be remade. We asked for extra shrimp instead of oysters. Oysters showed up instead. We asked for the shrimp and they did make us shrimp, albeit fried instead of our choice of blackened. The fried shrimp was pretty good, not too breaded that you couldn’t taste the shrimp. Another in our party got the bayou boiled shrimp and they were pretty good too, but dreadfully tough to peel. The skins were the most difficult to remove of any peel and eat I’ve tried. I’ve eaten at both the Jacksonville location and the Yulee location many times and never had this kind of lousy food. While the place looks way better than when it was a wing house, it couldn’t make up for the lackluster meal.

So good!!! Great prices for fresh seafood! Clam strips are like none other. This is just what Callahan needed.
