I had the best experience. David was great and the other guys were amazing as well. So excited I got to meet the pup that the wine Bodega was named after. Be ready to fall in love with the wines. Not pretentious at all. Be ready to be educated and taste amazing wines.

Another 5 star review. Why? Individual attention and free tasting! We stopped by at 1pm on a Monday and Teddy was our wine tasting guide. We stayed for an hour and must have tried between 8 – 10 wines. We ended up purchasing over $ 500 in wine so it was all good Our favorites were the petite Syrah and the mélange. Great personalized attention. We never felt rushed.

We had THEBEST experience at Vincent Arroyo this past Saturday. Really cannot say enough good things. First of all, the quality of the wine is excellent, best syrahs we had out of six other visits(no, they were not all in one day). The winery itself was really nice — not huge, but homey with nice outdoor space. But the real reason our visit was so special was Teddy. Teddy was amazing — really friendly and made a significant effort to learn all our names(we were a group of 9) while teaching us all about the wines in a fun way. THANKYOU Teddy!

Free winery tour. Yes, FREE. You have to call ahead and reserve a time. And there’s a tasting to go with it. It’s a nice little winery, and my wife liked some of the wines. We bought a couple of bottles based on the tasting. It’s a family-owned winery, and a really nice couple of hours for the tour, tasting, and shopping. The wineries charging $ 40 for a tour tasting could learn something from these folks.

Vincent A. winery was a breath of fresh air after going to the big commercialized ones. Jim was absolutely great and made us feel very special. He was passionate about the wine and explained a lot to us as we are wine newbies. The Petite Sirah is amazing … Very complex. And the Port they had was the best I’ve ever had.

Seriously, the most pleasant tasting I had during this trip and I was by myself while hubby was at a conference at CIA. I can see why Vincent Arroyo had such good ratings. I got to taste 6 of their wines and loved most of them. I ended up buying a bottle of their Reserved Red Cab, two Petite Sirahs and Nameless. I had to pace myself on buying wine but I would have bought more from here. My host, Jim(I think that was his name. I am terrible at remembering names, sorry!) gave me some history about Vincent Arroyo and the winery itself which was interesting. It’s too bad that while I was there, it was raining. I would have loved to tour the grounds a little bit but the drive up to the tasting room was lovely. I snapped some pics of their beautiful patio area. Would definitely order from their website if I can’t visit Napa Valley anytime soon.

Loved our visit here! We didn’t realize we needed reservations but somehow they accommodated us, as a lovely small group of 4 allowed us to join them. Our host was fabulous, friendly and made us feel VIP. We enjoyed a barrel tasting among all of their current wines and the best part was that is was free! In fact, my favorite bottle, the Mélange Reserve, was only $ 19!!! Needless to say, we will be returning!

I can not say enough positive things about my experience at Vincent Arroyo Winery! I did tastings at 6 different places during my stay in Calistoga and this place blew all the other wineries out of the water. Here is a quick run down on why this place continues to get 5 stars over and over again. Location/Venue: The grassy little outdoor seating area has the most beautiful biggest roses I have EVER seen! The beautiful colors of the flowers can be enjoyed on their benches, tables, or cute little barrel chairs. The tasting room had a comfortable feel with little hints of dog friendliness in the décor and you can find the 2 super friendly labs roaming the property. Very comfortable enjoyable environment. Tasting Guide: Dave was amazeballs! Of course he knew a ton about wines, but he was also overall a super friendly family guy. Held my little munchkin and all! He was great at answering our questions, showing us extras(like the storage room, wine from a barrel with a wine thief, etc.) and I never once felt rushed to get through the tasting appointment. Wines: They do one white and a bunch of reds. As a person who mostly drinks red wine this was a major plus for me. They included a ton of wines in their tasting as well. Most places I went to had maybe 4 – 5 wines tops, but I had at least 8(or more) different wines here. Cost/Value: The ONLY place in the area that still offers FREE wine tasting(by appointment). The wines were priced very fairly as well. Extra Pluses: Once they found out that we were a military family on a little R&R after my husband just got back from deployment, we were given a little thank you. I love places that show support in some way, shape, or form to those who are serving our country. Seriously, this place is AMAZING and if you are in Calistoga it is a MUST!

we spent the day at the Geyser… and wanted to squeeze in a tasting before our dinner reservation back in Yountville… i used Unilocal and found Vincent Arroyo… it was right around the corner from the Geyser. tip…go in from the hwy… not the back road(the bridge is out and you can’t make it across) first of all… the tasting is FREE! reservations required. there were 3 other tastings going on… and we got our own guy taking care of us! the tastings were very intimate and casual… Jeff was in charge of us… he brought out a flight and then some of bottles… and the pouring started… we had so many different wines here! i loved them all. jeff was super informative… he literally is a Napa valley tourguide… yes he is! he used to actually do napa valley bus tours and has done so much reading on the history of the wineries that he knows everything! we met the winemaker and his ENTIRE family too. they were all just hanging around(it was close to closing time).even though they squeezed us in for the last tasting of the day… they didn’t rush it. We got a high quality and fun tasting. we were given a tour of the barrel room. we were taken out to the vineyards… our kids played out front in the garden with the doggies… this place is a must! oh and the wines are affordable! a lot of the time we buy a few bottles to get the steep tasting fees waived… well no fees here and we still bought a couple bottles… sangiovese($ 24) & nameless($ 32) they are known for their petite sirah’s …and they were yum! but i only had room in my bag for 2 more bottles… i’ll be back for sure

We stopped by this place because my Father in Law loves their port… a) The want you to make an appointment… for being a small place(we get that) b) God forbid if you arrive earlier than your appointment… the owner or people working might have snarky comments c) I don’t even like their wine d) 2 dogs will continuously bark at your car…(makes you wonder if they might bite you) e) customer service is shitty f) Wine is shitty(did i mention that already)

This is one of my favorite wineries ever. Super chill and laid back, they are here to share a love of wine, and will take you on a little tour to show you where and how everything is made. I usually end up buying a case of their chardonnay, it’s now my go to vino. My boyf loves their petite sirah, which usually sells out ahead of time, but you can barrel taste it in the March time frame. The wine here is excellent, good price performer, and everyone who works here is friendly and knowledgable and excited to share knowledge about wine and production.

Not your average winery. There are wineries in Napa that remind me of machines. They now not only specialize in wine, but in the tasting experience as well. This is why they charge $ 25 and up for a tasting. People come for the tasting and atmosphere, not the wine itself. Vincent Arroyo is different. Here they don’t even charge you for a tasting. You are coming to sample which wine you would like to walk away with. And you will. My dad and my sister are the big winos. I was designated driver for this trip. However, I still got to see all the different wineries and understand the differences. We went to six overall and in the end my dad only deemed two wineries good enough to buy some from. He ended up getting a case from here. Our wine tasting lasted about 2 hours(eating into our spa time, but that is a story in itself). We got to see the property and my dad and sister tasted a ton of wine(I wish I could be more specific, but it was definitely more than 5!). It is a very unpretentious tasting room. There are no seats. There are two dogs that run around and the staff often kick a tennis ball for them to fetch while pouring the wine. The people who work here are very knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they do. If you are coming to Napa for the tasting experience only, don’t go here, but if you are coming for the wine, this is a can’t miss.

My boyfriend and I made a last minute appointment here, and the workers were gracious enough to accommodate us! After a couple tastings, Teddy took us on a tour and it was really fun and informational! To be honest, I’m not a true fan of red wine but I really enjoyed the whole experience and even brought home a bottle of their Petite Syrah. To top it all off, their winery dog, Rosie, is the cutest pup ever and wants to play with everyone! I am so, so glad we came here and I hope YOU come here if you’re reading this review!

I made an appointment for a tasting at 3:00pm on a Saturday, but we were running a tad behind, but after calling they were still willing to accommodate us. I am so glad that they did! We even were able to meet and chat with the owner himself! We had such a wonderful experience at this quaint winery in Calistoga. Very friendly, unpretentious, and a great variety of wine. Time well spent…

This small winery specializes in red wine. This is probably the most attentive and informative wine tasting in Napa. They let us try as many of the wines as we wanted, and they didn’t pressure us into buying any bottles(even though we did because they were tasty!). I definitely recommend coming here, but be sure to make a reservation!

This was an amazing, comforting and very genuine experience. We stumbled upon this little gem over a weekend stay at Callistoga. I immediately knew I was going to love it because as soon as we pulled into the drive way, we were greeted by two very friendly winery Labradors! The interior of the main tasting room is not spectacular and is not particularly picturesque but the experience you receive from the hosts trumps over any desired visuals that you might be longing for. People often forget that tastings are technically suppose to be free, and luckily this winery is one of the last that holds fast to that tradition. They were very generous with their pours and customized the tasting to our liking. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming and we definitely appreciated the hospitality. We walked away with two bottles of their most popular wines: the dessert Port wine, and a red Spanish blend which starts with a «T»(sorry can’t quite recall! but it was our Thanksgiving dinner wine and it was AMAZING!). I’d recommend coming here if you’d like a REAL genuine winery experience and to talk with the owner, shake his hand and learn the history of wine. I hear they do tours of their facility over the weekends, so that’s probably the best time to stop by. This place is kind of stripped of all the pomp and hype that wine-country typically comes with and it leaves you with what good wine is really about. And they have the cutest pups! :)

Not exactly a wine connoisseur, but our host this weekend made it comfortable to enjoy the tasting. He gave us a lot of tips and arranged the order of our wines depending on our preferences. We even got a quick tour in the back. Going from the 2013 cab to the 34 cab really hit the spot. You could the difference in their complexities. My personal favorite would be the 2013 House Petit Syrah. Great for the price and not too dry. Sorta makes you feel at ease. Rosie, the black dog, is pretty friendly and tends to nap around inside. There’s a chew toy somewhere outside on one of the barrels.

Sometimes you want the over-the-top show that comes from the winery complete with guilded columns, a lengthy story on the history of the family and facility, and the full Napa-esque production. Other times you just want to come to the easy, approachable place with friendly people who are passionate about what they do, and who serve up some really great wines. If you’re in the mood for the latter than Vincent Arroyo may be just what the doctor ordered. From the moment you pull into the gravel lot, you know you’re not in Kansas anymore. The exterior is rustic and kempt, with a small garden filled with roses and wooden picnic tables, and a relaxed dog laying just outside the door. Inside is an homage to informality, with cardboard boxes of wines all around, bearing computer printed descriptions and price tags. The room is packed with throngs of locals and tourists alike, huddled around jovial guides, while sipping and laughing. Although we made reservations in advance, we quickly discovered that was not the norm. In fact, the gentleman we told upon checking in, seemed almost surprised. He immediately welcomed us effusively, and led us to get started on tasting(which by the way is completely free). Known for their Petite Syrah, they produce many other varietals as well, and our guide was generous with each pour. Unlike other tastings where we felt like the entire process was a sales pitch, Vincent Arroyo truly just felt like unbridled fun. By the end of our tasting, we had sampled about 9 or 10 different varietals, and the best part is, we never felt rushed even though we had one of the last appointments of the day. While not every wine was suited to my palate, there was definitely some winners I knew I’d enjoy opening back home, including a zinfandel, which lately seems to have won out as my leading type. Between the array of full-bodied reds, the laid back atmosphere, and the cordial staff, I knew we had found the Napa-equivalent of the«hole-in the wall restaurant that turns out to be a gem.» When substance takes precedent over appearances, great times can be had, and some worthwhile, affordable wine can be discovered. They truly made us feel like part of the family. So head up to Calistoga, it may be a touch North, but they are definitely doing things right at Vincent Arroyo.

The wine tasting is free. Very nice people, very pretty land and it was easy to locate. All 5 Stars. We didn’t have an appointment, which was fine since we didn’t get too much grief about it. There were a TON of people in the tasting room, which wasn’t very large. We ended up trying about 7 different wines(at least) and I wasn’t a fan of all but one. The boyfriend really liked this winery a few years back and bought a few cases of their wine but this year just was very disappointing. The tasting room was a little awkward as well because we were huddled over a table with various wines on it with a tin of crackers. We got no explanation of who they were or what they did and the couple who was to our left during the tasting, kept talking about their travels and how the guy had made a few movies. I feel very disappointed that this didn’t go better for us since Vincent Arroyo has so many positive reviews. I’m not against checking this place out again but I just felt like I left knowing just as much about them as I did coming in – not much at all. Just average in my opinion.
