— Best cocktails for the price! Down home red checkered table cloths, and very modest interiors and grounds… Sorry to hear it is CLOSED? We found this in 1997 by way of a bartender at Trivigne. We asked her where to get a great steak… she said we had to call to see if they were open. cool…Up to Valley of teh Moon, turn right at teh burned out tree stump. really…down a dirt road, its on the right. What an experience…

Okay, I’m editing my previous review of Triple S. They are open now and I have heard some good & not so good reviews, but that is to be expected with all the stresses and details of opening a restaurant. I haven’t been there myself yet, but I’m hoping for the best. The people who purchased the place are lucky to have such a great piece of property and history, so hopefully they meet everyone’s expectations!

In the mountains just outside of Calistoga lies a hidden gem of a restaurant.
This place has great steak. We found it by asking a small local winery where to get really good food that is not a touristy place. You take a small road that feels like it’s taking you to someone’s house in the mountains… and it actually feels like you are at someone’s house. The dog next door will wander in and sit at your feet on the outdoor patio and act like he’s known you forever. It’s so peaceful and quiet that you can imagine you are back in time on a farm someplace. I love it!
There is a relish tray to start your meal and the salad dressing is ‘oh so good’ (blue cheese is my choice)…then the steak… mmmmm…cooked just how you ordered and almost fork tender.
Well worth the drive!
