Flagg Springs is a little gem of a course right off the AA Highway in California. I recently had a great experience here while playing in the KSP Post 6 golf scramble to benefit Trooper Island. The course did a great job of handling the event and they were very gracious to host our event and help raise money for a good cause. Even with the string of 100+ degree days, the course was in great shape. The greens were fast, but not dry at all and the grass was healthy. The fairways and first cut of rough were perfectly mowed. There’s water coolers about every 3 holes, which is nice and there’s plenty of trash bins and ball washing stations. The course can be a bit difficult, especially on the back 9 where it gets really hilly. Water comes into play on several holes, and there are a small number of sand bunkers too to keep it interesting. The pro shop is small, but has a decent amount of equipment. They fed us too, and the food was pretty tasty. I didn’t get to try the actual restaurant attached to the clubhouse. It was nice to play this course again since I haven’t been in about 12 – 13 years. I’ll definitely be back.
