Raritan Inn At Middle Valley

This is simply a gem of a bed and breakfast… What I really like about the place is that it isn’t a tacky pretend to be quasi-​historical all dressed up bed and breakfast. This is a very tastefully presented b&b with all the modern amenities so you don’t ever leave the 21^st century.
Of course you still get this quaint homey b&b feel with historical items tastefully placed throughout the establishment. Every room is:
1. super clean with the modern amenities
2. has its own unique character with its trendy but never overbearing décor
Oh and yes wedding pictures look great here too!

I attended a wedding this past weekend at the Raritan Inn and it was beautiful. My boyfriend was in the wedding party so I was in and out of the inn quite a bit leading up to the wedding and the next day. The décor is charming and everything is very clean. John had extra breakfast one morning so when we showed up to help clean up after the wedding he gladly offered us delicious breakfast and plenty of hot coffee.
The wedding venue is a beautiful place if you are looking to have a rustic barn wedding. However it is a DIY place so be prepared to set everything up on your own and clean up the next day, unless of course you hire someone for that. :) The ceremony took place by the brook in the back, the dinner tables were set up under a tent in the field, dancing and the band were in the barn. It was really the PERFECT venue for the couple getting married.

My family recently traveled to New Jersey for a funeral, and our previous experience with the only hotel within 10 miles was beyond awful. Terrifying, even. So, this time we were cautiously optimistic about the Raritan Inn, which wasn’t open last time we were there.
We arrived late to a wonderfully rustic, restored house, all rooms are highly upgraded, the kitchen is top-​notch, bathrooms are gorgeous. It has a cozy unique feel, and it felt warm and friendly inside. The innkeeper is a wonderful man named Jon, who joined us for a drink when we arrived. Wonderful conversation over a glass of wine, and we felt as at home as you can when you’re in another state for a funeral.
The rooms were spotless, and each had their own charm. It’s eco friendly, and on a gorgeous property, complete with a river and barn that apparently has been host to many weddings and events.
The absolute highlight was getting to meet the chickens that are on the property. Jon takes such great care of them and the property, he is the true heart and soul of the Inn. He absolutely made our stay wonderful. Oh, and his omelette was amazing.

Awesome inn, beautiful wedding venue. I recommend it for a visit, or for your next event. The setting is eco-​friendly and bucolic, and was perfect for my rustically elegant environmentally friendly wedding earlier this month. The innkeepers (Matt & Ruby) were not only capable, they were accommodating and downright friendly. Everyone raved about the location, and my new spouse and I will be visiting again… frequently.
