The Man of Smoke sandwich is my favorite. Great brisket. Big portions and decent prices. One of the best establishments in Calhoun at the moment.

Right off, the service was great! The staff was informal and friendly, extremely helpful. We went for lunch and I couldn’t decide what to have between 2 sandwiches. The Cuban, their spin on a classic Cuban sandwich, smoked pork, deli sliced ham, pickles, mustard and Swiss cheese. Then there was the Man of smoke which is sliced brisket covered in grilled onions & mushrooms, and Thatcher’s sauce(their version of a ranch dressing &BBQ mix), with melted provolone on Texas toast. I decided to get both!(I stopped by for dinner and picked up the man of smoke). First, the Cuban. The roll was soft and had a good taste. The pork was great. Good smoke flavor, not amazing, but solid. The ham was deli and I thought it could’ve been smoked in house. That was a little disappointing. I feel like there was deli turkey too, again, I would’ve liked to seen in house smoked. It was good, but not great. The bread was good but not pressed like a classic Cuban. These are preferences, so I won’t count it against them but the Cuban at Thatcher’s for taste was a 6.5 out of 10 in my opinion. Man of smoke was a 7.5 out of 10. Brisket was very tender, solid smoke flavor. Thatcher’s sauce is not my cup of tea, but it’s a common thing so try it if you please. Good place. I’ll be back, but I think Dub’s(2 miles down the road) is better.

This place is pretty good. Large portions and best sides. The sweet potato tots, Mac n cheese and baked beans are great. The meat I tried brisket pork and chicken. They all were good but chicken was a little dry. Sauce is good but I like dubs sauce better. I would put this place above Dubs but it’s because of sides and portions. Good value

This is becoming my favorite dinner place in Calhoun. They are very friendly and seem to be getting better the longer they have been open. The menu is great and they not only give you big portions of food, they give you big portions of really good food. I’m always torn between ordering the bbq pork or a cheeseburger… either way I win.

This restaurant has a lot of potential. The staff is very warm, and the rustic décor is fantastic. However, the dishes leave a lot to be desired. I gave this restaurant a total of 3 chances, and, overall, I’m pretty disappointed in the food. The ingredients could be EXPONENTIALLY fresher. For example, some dishes tasted freezer-burnt, while others tasted stale. The fried jalapenos were pretty good, but they weren’t good enough to send me back for another meal at Thatcher’s.

Have been here several times now and we love this place. The most convenient part of this restaurant is that they are open Tuesday through Saturday 11 – 9. Their food is delicious. We will be coming back again and again.

You think you’ve tried them all and then you taste Thatcher’s Barbeque ribs. Wow! You’ll be back. Not better then Dub’s it’s just that we have the best two barbeque joints in NWGA.

Ribs were outstanding a great smokey flavor, yum again with the fried pickles and onion rings. The chopped chicken was a tad dry but the sauce was really yummy so I just doused it in some of that. Wish they served beer, but the good food definitely made up for not having it. Décor was cute, they use old school bus seats for booths! Bathroom needs work.
