Church’s fried chicken over KFC! When I was younger, I preferred KFC but as I’m older, my taste have change and now I prefer Church’s. There’s a huge difference between Church’s and KFC other than their sides. To be honest, I prefer KFC’s side dishes but Church’s chicken are so much better. It’s so much more flavorful, tender and juicy whereas KFC’s chicken is very dry and too chewy. I like to order their original chicken with mashed potatoes, baked macaroni and cheese, cole slaw and their HONEYBUTTERBISCUITS! I always ask for honey on the side and add them onto the biscuit. OMG the more I’m talking about this place the hungrier I get! Even though the food is amazing, I would NEVER eat at the restaurant. It’s pretty small, hot and there’s a lot of flies flying around. I usually go there to do take out and take everything home where I can eat comfortably. Service can be good or horrible depends who is working. There have been times where they are really rude and annoyed for whatever reason. I come here for the food so I don’t let a bad attitude ruin my day.

This is a good cheap place to eat on the border. I usually stay on Fourth Street, and I come right down here from my room. The people are nice, the chicken is very very fast, and who doesn’t like the biscuits. I buy one big box or two small ones, and stick it in the motel refridge. Sometimes I am eating chick almost all the way back to Bako. If you like Fried Chicken and don’t mind a fast food setting, it is a great value.

MYGOODNESS. My friends and I ventured out to Salvation Mountain today and on the way we stopped in Calexico to grab food before heading out to the sticks – we drove round and round the place to find a decent place to eat. Being from LA, I’m used to big cities and having a monumental place to eat on every other block, but we had SUCH a hard time finding anywhere, at least anywhere listed on Google Maps, but when I saw the sign«CHURCH’S CHICKEN,» I screamed so loud in the car that I scared half our passengers. And probably the car next to us. And the car next to them. I’ve always wanted to try Church’s. And it did not disappoint. Although it’s fast food style, it’s much better than any ol’ KFC. Their honey butter biscuits are delightful and their corn nuggets? Delish! The chicken is also pretty dang good. Although the pieces are not as big as Popeye’s, it’s just as moist and not over-salted. We got a 10 piece family pack for the 5 of us and it came with two sides, mashed potatoes and cole slaw, which were probably my least favourite parts of the meal(I don’t think the mash is real potato and I’m not a cole slaw fan). I would try some of the other sides next time. Other than that, had a great first Church’s experience. :) I do have to say that they do not replace Popeye’s Chicken as my favourite for fried chicken though, but it’s a winner anyway!
