If you’re around the area for breakfast, redwood is the place to go. Super yummy! I take my kids there every once in awhile. For some reason I just can’t get my pancakes to taste quite as good as theirs! The servers and cooks are so kind and give great service

The Redwood Café is cute. My family and I stopped by on our way through Minnesota on a whim. I’ll cover the food, service, and atmosphere. So food. The prices are incredibly cheap for a sit down place. The total cost for five was just a tad over $ 39. Pretty amazing. The burgers were okay. Particularly given the price; however my latest complain would be that I wish they had used real cheddar cheese versus the plasticy American cheese(especially being so close to Wisconsin). But not bad overall for a 7 $ meal with fries. They had their own breading on the chicken strips. The portion size was good. Overall not bad, just weak cheese. The service. The waitress was very nice and very sociable to all the locals. I really loved the community feel as everyone seemed to know everyone. I’m sure they noticed that my family were out of towners. Quick. Friendly. Personable. The atmosphere. Cute and small. However, it was a bit dingy and dirty in some ways. There was a green clump in the salt.(Probably harmless but no means pleasant to see). The cups were old… old old. The plates and such seemed just fine. And the tables were well wiped down. The salt, cups, and overall environment just seemed a little dirty and rugged. But it is just supposed to be a local, cheap meal. Overall it was alright. The prices were fair for what the restaurant offers, and the service was good.

Great homey breakfast spot and the best waitresses ever! Always cheerful and helpful! Love to stop here on our way between Chicago and southwest MN. Right on the highway so easy to find. Highly recommend!

I’ve dropped in here a couple of times while out riding. Pretty standard diner fare, nothing original on the lunch menu. A good BLT with a bit too much mayo, and somewhat bland potato soup. Par for the course in this part of the state. In their favor, the service is good, the place is clean, and it is a definite upgrade over the usual small town dq/subway fare. And that’s alright with me. :)

OH man… where do I begin? I started going to the Redwood(Café) when I was a small child. Eating breakfast with my brother and sister and my dad on a Sunday morning holds many fond memories in my heart. I always ordered the same thing — 3 egg omelet with green peppers, bacon and cheese, an order of sausage links and an order of toast with a large milk and a large orange juice. Granted, I was in high school and my metabolism was still in check… but that is besides the point… I think our total bill for the 4 breakfasts would come to around $ 15.00. Where have those days gone? Living in Orange County with endless options of dining, I often wake up on a Sunday morning and crave the Redwood. I haven’t been back in about 5 years but I’m sure that nothing has changed. Great staff, great atmosphere, friendly recognizable faces…(lets face it, Caledonia is only 3,000 people, you should know everybody…). If you’re a Houston County local, you should check out the Redwood. You’d be silly not to.
