Stanley put a system in for us in 2009. as the other reviewer stated he was very professional and supplied us with a great furnace and air conditioner. I was so excited I signed up for their annual contract. the first year was good cause I paid in advance, they came twice and looked and checked my system. The next year I had to remind them that I wanted annual maintenance. Stanley stated oh it was a computer problem and they were sorry they had let me slip through the cracks. this continued to this year. I paid my annual fee and asked for a specific tech to come and do the maintenance as I had in past years. Well the time for the appointment came and went. I called and asked to talk to the tech. he wasn’t there and they didn’t know where he was and they would call me back. Two hours latter a young man with tattoos that I didn’t know showed up. I asked him where the tech that usually does the job was and he didn’t know. So, I told the tech I wanted the guy that usually does it to come. He left and I got a call saying the tech I wanted was not there and I could reschedule the time. To finish a long story the tech guy that I liked didn’t like me and my house. so to find out it was not a computer problem he didn’t coming out here so I just got lost each year. here is the final conservation: I will need a refund of the 200 I paid last week for the annual maintenance contract. After talking to you it became obvious to me why the annual maintenance contract was never renewed. Rather than your worker telling me of the problem at the time is seems to me it just festered. I know I do have a lot of stuff in my basement and I don’t go down there much anymore. I think in xxxx’s eyes it is close to hoarder level. Now I understand why your staff would just let me drop through the cracks and have no maintenance until I remembered and came in to arrange it. I hope the next Lennox dealer treats me as a valued customer. I have not felt like that with your company for last couple of years. Stanley: YYYYYY told me she credited the $ 200 back to your credit card already. As to you wanting to be treated as a valued customer, I cringed when I found out xxxx had not communicated with you about annual maint., that blind sided me. I was very surprised when YYYYY told me you had not been contacted. I sincerely want you to know that did not come from my heart, and I have communicated with xxxx about how we are to value our customers. I think he could have had an adult conversation with me or you about wanting to have items cleared prior to his going. I informed him all he needed to do was have YYYYY request that be done when she scheduled the appointment. Please accept my apology for the way you were treated, it was not with my blessing or knowledge. I do understand your resentment for the way you were treated, and I have no excuse as to that action. I am truly sorry. I have worked hard to have a good reputation, but this is an earned response from you. I do wish you well. Stanley

So, I needed some advice on an HVAC issue at my house. I started reading about systems and similar issues, and many of my Google searches led me to message boards.(There’s a lot of great information there, if you are interested.) I saw multiple references to the Air Conditioner Contractor’s of America( ). So, I went to their site to see if they had any recommendations for contractors. I was surprised how few Boise area contractors are involved with the ACCA. In any case, I found Heating Equipment Company listed on the ACCA site and gave them a call. I was put in touch with their current owner, Stanley Johnson. I mean this in the most complimentary way when I say that Stanley is a nerd. I wish that he had designed the system for the house that I bought, but alas. Stanley has served as an instructor for other Idaho HVAC contractors. Stanley spent around 2 hours assessing my house and system and giving me a pretty heavy information download. I learned a huge amount about the interplay of home design and HVAC systems(and the deficiencies of my home). In the end he suggested a number of zero cost or low cost things that I could try on my own before stepping into serious $s, which I really appreciated. If you are interested in a thorough(scientific) study of your HVAC system according to ACCA standards, I highly recommend Heating Equipment Company. I know that they do computer modeling for new system design, and I’d suggest giving them a shot for new home design as well. BTW, they are located in Caldwell, but were happy to come to Boise.
