Went here last weekend for a cut and color (there is a branch closer to my home but the Calabasas branch had much better reviews.) They did not disappoint! It’s nice to find a straightforward and reasonably priced salon in this area that does an amazing job. I requested for Kaitlyn after reading such rave reviews about her, and she was great! I’m definitely coming back, along with my sister and mom!

I just saw Kaitlyn for color. Initially, I wanted a dark to red ombré and we started the process of «lifting» the color off my tips! When we washed my hair, Zara (I believe that was her name, she was a hairstylist as well) started talking about the hair being so pretty and saying how good it looked. I’ve never had blonde in my hair before and after talking to Kaitlyn, we decided to try it for a bit. I am so pleased with the results. Kaitlyn is amazing. I LOVE my hair. She was great even though i completely changed what I wanted. Can’t wait to see what else we will do in the future. She’s amazing.

I needed a no-​frills, straightforward salon for a simple (and inexpensive) blowout. Based on other Unilocal reviews made an appt with Kaitlyn, and very happy I did! I was very impressed with the service. First of all, she was a doll. Very sweet and friendly. Second, she asked a few of the right questions to make sure we were on the same page (even making suggestions as to what would be best for my hair type). Lastly, I was very happy with the end results! My naturally curly hair was smooth, sleek and silky. Looked like I went to a fancy-​pants salon. I will def be going back!

Horrible horrible horrible service… your employees are straight up lazy. Lady just looked at my hair and said «I cannot do. Come back another time.» First time I’ve ever been denied of a haircut at a barber shop!
Management shouldn’t be hiring lazy, unmotivated barbers who can’t cut hair. I wish I got the name of my «barber» to call her out.

I cannot say enough good things about Kaitlyn. She is not only extremely personable and kind, she is quite the talent. I have intense haircut and hair color anxiety. I am always afraid of the color not matching and the cut being too short (which has happened at many other salons). Kaitlyn has wiped those fears away. When I ask for an inch, she cuts an inch. She respects my wishes and is constantly checking in to make sure I’m happy with what she is doing. I HIGHLY recommend her to any and everyone!

It’s always nerve wracking when you are traveling and realize you desperately need a haircut. Today I took a risk and had an amazing experience! Kanar was the best, a regular scissor wielding wizard! I have short hair but it’s thick and unruly and when it’s not tamed I look like a muppet. Today, after seeing Kanar, I’m looking less muppet and more totally awesome. Looks like I can ditch the hat for awhile! Thanks for a great experiences and the perfect haircut.

Kanar cut my son’s hair (15) and it looks great. Like my fellow Unilocalers, I was tired of paying big bucks for a basic men’s haircut. There was a male Pepperdine student getting a haircut and his haircut looked perfect. And it wasn’t Kaitlyn cutting his hair. It appears the ladies who work here know what they are doing when it comes to men’s haircuts. I’m glad I finally found a good, affordable place for my son.

For the first time I got a decent haircut at this place. I’ve been here several times since it’s close by and convenient, but none of the hairstylists here have ever impressed me that much, until today. This lady named Caitlyn cut my hair today (she’s new) and she was amazing! Both the haircut and the service I got were great. Thank you, Caitlyn!

My name is Ashley. I recently went to fantastic sams and that name says it all. Kaitlyn was amazing she greeted me and made me feel comfortable. They quoted a reasonable price and had amazing customer service. Kanar did an awesome job on my hair. The other lady there also made me feel warm and welcome this place truly is fantastic from the people who work there to the service they give. The name says it all so happy words can’t describe. They bleAched and put pink streaks. And I can say my hair is awesome! So shout out to FANTASTIC SAMS. You all are amazing.

From a guy’s perspective – I’ll keep it quick– I’ve gotten a great haircut twice from Kanar. She is very professional, takes her time and does not rush through it, is gentle, and makes sure that you like your cut. Plus, she offers a free shampoo rinse-​off after the cut to get rid of hair leftovers. Much Appreciated!

Good haircut but still a bit pricy. $ 17 dollars for a quick men’s haircut seems a bit much but if you are looking for quick service and a decent haircut and don’t want to drop $ 50 at a Salon then this is the place for you.

This place, and more specifically, at least one employee here was horrible. I dropped my 14 year old son off and he gave her specific directions to do a 3 on the side and a 4 on top. It may have been a language barrier issue, which if so is a bigger problem with how this place is run, but her first cut was a buzz cut with the shears right down the middle. She had even nodded and said yes, yes, yes when he asked if she understood. He ended up with a complete buzz cut and cried after he was done with a big dance coming up soon. Avoid this place at all costs!

Taryeh (? sounds like Tara) cut my hair. She did a great job. I haven’t been this happy with a cut in a long time. She had a very different way of cutting, not anything I’d seen before, but I loved the result. I said straight, about an inch off, long layers and she listened and did exactly what I wanted. My hair styles great, making me actually want to do something with it in the morning.
I am very happy. Please don’t leave!

Damn, I ain’t been to one of these since I was like 10… you know before I became cool and started getting haircuts in tha hood. Anyway life has brought me to the land of Calabasas and ever since I cut my dreads off a year ago, I’ve been in search a good fade out here.
They did a decent job in under 10 minutes of work. I’ll even go as far and say they did a ‘fantastic’ job.
My parents still stay in tha hood so I’ll primarily get my fades out there when I visit but if ever I’m in a bind and need my grooming taken care of fast, you can find me at Fantastic Sam’s.
