Pizza Hut

We came to our local Pizza Hut here in Cairo, Ga for my son’s birthday lunch. We had the worst service ever and the food sucked, and then they tried to charge us $ 5 for my son to eat for his buffet. I understand there was 1 waitress, but she had 4 tables when we got there and they all left like 10 minutes after we got there, then it was just us, a couple and single guy. She never came and refilled our drinks, cleared the table once and never asked if we were alright or if everything was alright. The managers can say they were short staffed if they want but when you have about 5 people standing around in the kitchen twiddling their thumbs not doing a thing, someone could have helped the girl clear off tables. When we arrived there were like 3 slices of pizza on the buffet. It took them like 20 minutes to bring out more food and it didn’t taste good at all. The salad bar looked like it was out all morning or left overs from days before, the pickles and cucumbers were slimy, the pineapples were dry, puny and no juice in them, they looked like they were opened last week; the veggies were wilting bad and the pudding tasted chalky. I’ve had bad service there before and have issued with their salad bar but that was last year, figured it would have changed in a year, but this time around was the worst ever. Last year I came with my son and a friend that use to work there. It took the normal time for her wings to come out but then took 45 minutes to an hour for my personal pizza. My friend went to try the salad and had what was suppose to be french dressing but tasted so sickening. They wanted to charge for her salad after she went up there and complained to the manager about it. We asked for a discount for the pizza since it took longer then it should have and the manger refused. They weren’t even busy at all that day. I think the employees should learn some ServSafe because if anyone eats from that salad bar they’re likely to get food poisoning, I mean that’s how bad it is here. It’s as if the staff doesn’t care about the product they put out and just about that pay check. People are going to get sick and people are going to get charged for killing someone one day. NEVER EATING THERE AGAIN! When someone mentions Pizza Hut, I’m telling them to go to Dominos down the street, at least there the food is fresh and not going to get you sick.

Went for the buffet. The pizza part of the buffet was mostly fine, although the breadsticks were pretty hard and dry. Our issues were with the salad bar: slimy cucumbers, tomatoes that were wrinkly as though maybe they had been frozen, and pineapple that had started to ferment. That’s way too many food freshness issues for a buffet visit. I worked at a pizza place when I was a teenager and we threw away the leftover fruits and vegetables at the end of our shift. Clearly they must think they can reuse the vegetables from the day before, which, by the way, violates food safety laws.
When I told the cashier about the pineapple she said they just opened the can that morning. I’m sorry. That’s not possible. Unless the canned pineapple was expired when they opened it. Either way, do they even look at the food they put out?
