Over priced. We were quoted $ 24 for a lobster roll. So we opted for the fish and chips which were very good.

Stopped in here on Memorial Day for a lobster roll. Lobster roll was good not great. I give this place 3 stars because a) they don’t take plastic and b) the picnic tables outside were disgusting. An eatery on the Cape not taking plastic is unacceptable; would not go back for this reason alone.

If you want amazing fried sea food with a great view– THIS is the place to go! A tiny little nook along the Cape Cod Canal– a bit challenging to get to during the busy tourist season but if timed well it’s worth the visit on a sunny afternoon.

Perfect! Exactly what you want when you come to the Cape! My husband and I each got clam strip rolls(HUGE serving size) and my son had a hot dog. The buns a perfectly buttered and the batter is a nice saltiness. The tarted sauce is absolutely amazing I wish you could buy a jar of it!

Had lunch here just after getting off the Cape via Sagamore Bridge on 6 West. Sat outside at one of several bright white picnic tables with my Fish & Chips. Pleasantly surprised by the flaky lightly fried fish, boatload of fries and a side of crispy slaw. Loved eating and soaking up rays of sunshine while watching activity in the Canal across the street. Also enjoyed a taste at our table of some bountiful, delicious lobster roll, without the roll, on lettuce and two big slices of tomatoes. This was a really nice way to soften the blow of having to go back to NYC and every day life in the big City.

The BEST Lobster Roll on my the cape… I ate Rolls from Bourne to P-Town — for the price and taste — the best I had… Also ordered the fish sandwich and a few burgers for the kids — everything was eaten… Can’t wait to get back!!!

First let me say that this place would be 5 stars if it wasn’t cash only. I’m sorry but not accepting credit/debit cards for me is a HUGE downfall. It’s 2015 and rarely do I carry cash with me(Im sure Im not the only one). Aside from that the clam strips here are the freakin bomb. The batter is exactly how i like it and food comes out hot. Outside seating only, however if Im at the Cape in the summer, outside is where I would like to be anyway. If it were a fall trip, i would probable pass up the Shanty for somewhere where I could sit inside where it was a little warmer. Great view of the Sagamore Bridge from this spot, especially at sunset when it seems to glow.

We swung by there on a whim on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and had a great bowl of clam chowder — it was homemade and super fresh — and since it’s right across from the canal, you can’t beat the view!

No complaints here at all. In my eternal search for the best fried clams in Mass, this place ranks near the top. And from what I witnessed at the tables around me, everyone would agree their food is excellent.

This is what seafood at the cape is all about! VERY casual atmosphere. Only outdoor seating is available and the only accept cash(ATM attached to building). Food: Wonderful. From the cheeseburgers to Clam Roll, this place does is right. The size of the portions are wonderful. Enough clam strips on my roll to actually be two rolls. The tartar sauce has the perfect amount of zing, and the fries are equally as fresh. If you do not like casual atmosphere and no fuss service DONOTCOMEHERE. This place always delivers year after year. KEEPITUP!!!

The best lobster rolls of Cape Cod, per votes collected by Cape Cod Times, is not even located inside the core of the Cape. The champion belongs to The Seafood Shanty, located just to the west of the Cape.( ) I rate Seafood Shanty 4 stars by taking into consideration the ingredient quality, the quantity of lobster, the price, the services and the dining environment. Ingredient quality: the roll has 3 ingredients: lobster meat in mayo, 1 leaf of lettuce, 1 thick toast with butter(not a hot dog roll). The ingredients of the roll I had were all fresh. Lobster had no filler whatsoever. There was just the right amount of mayo. The lettuce leaf was crispy. Toast was yummy soft. Quantity of lobster: it was not published but I eyeballed over 1⁄3 lb of lobster meat. The meat piled high on top of the toast roll, making it a messy eating experience. I ended up moving some of the lobster meat off to the holding tray first before I devoured the roll. Price: We paid $ 20.50 per roll. It was at the top end of the range($ 18 to $ 20) for a «normal» roll. For comparison, some sit down restaurants charge $ 28 — $ 30 for a gourmet roll that advertised to have ½ lb of lobster. In other words, you get better bangs for the bucks here. Services: The whole kitchen + store front is inside a building that looks similar to a cargo container, so the services was more like a fast food joint. I noted that they were so busy even at 2:30pm, when I patronized, the attitude of the cashiers was more no nonsense than chatty. The ladies were nevertheless polite and efficient. We were given an order number. They called our number when the food was ready, which took about 15 minutes. Totally reasonable time because the rolls were made to order. Dining environment: It much depends on the weather. This is because it is outdoor dining in a big open field by a highway. We were lucky to be here on a sunny day. We ate at a picnic table. Then we rested on cottage-style lounge chairs. It was pretty relaxing. I suppose the experience would be quite different in less desirable weather.

Drove down looking for some good seafood. The seafood shanty isn’t quite on the cape which is good if you are looking to stop in somewhere for a quick bite and beat the traffic. I got a lobster roll and the fried clam bellies. The bellies were great, lightly battered and deeeelish. The lobster roll was great until I found the giant hair in the roll. When I found the hair I went to the side of the restaurant and asked for another. I did this pretty quietly instead of going to the front and making it known to everyone waiting in line that I found a hair in my roll. Your welcome. The guy back there was a little skeptical of me and asked if I still had the hair in the roll. I guess he didn’t believe there was a hair in there. Good food. Just watch what your eating.

How do you recommend that you sit outdoors. Staff was friendly and service was relatively fast on a busy day. I wanted the fresh peel and eat shrimp, cajun style mahi grilled fish sandwich, and lobster roll. The lobster roll was very good. I could taste the sweet chucks of lobster meat. There is also a free popcorn machine so you can snack on something while you wait for your food.

Insanely good! Fish and Chips were incredible. Full of flavor. The homemade coleslaw and tarter sauce was fresh and complimented the meal. The fish sandwiches were fantastic as well. And let’s not forget the clam chowder filled with clams and homemade goodness. The staff is friendly and genuine. Father and daughter team which I suspect are the owners. We will be back… everyday. I wish! No indoor seating but plenty of outdoor tables and there is always your car! Many thanks!

First time out in New England, was looking for good sea food and was not disappointed. Ordered the lobster roll and was greeted with a toasty buttered bun and a mountain of lobster. Couldn’t be happier.

Super delicious lobster rolls. The meat is fresh and no filler. It’s a tad too moist with mayo for my taste but overall, a great roll. Cash only, ATM on site with fee. This spot is right off the Scenic Hwy, so score a to go order and go to the panel and watch the sites on this magnificent waterway. I noticed heat lamps for those dining outside in the night.
