The only reason I’m reviewing it is that I always wanted to review a restaurant in Buttonwillow, CA. This is an okay stop on the trek from Los Angeles to the Bay Area. The salad bar was actually larger than I would have expected. All things fairly fresh, too. I ate the chicken fried steak and it was good enough. The chicken fingers were big, with a load of fries. Service swift enough. And that’s good enough for someplace off the 5.

Decent for where it is and what it is being at a truck stop. I don’t think another salad bar can be found within 50 miles of this little diner. It has all the usual salad fixings a vegan would want, just don’t expect super fresh or organic vegetables. Beans, corn, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, beets, and broccoli just to name a few. Soup, bread and fruit are also available. All you can eat $ 7.95

Food’s good, about Cocoa’s quality. I got the mac and cheese, it was done well and the garlic bread was buttery and fresh. My mom got the grilled cheese and it was quality, they didn’t skimp on anything. The fries were fresh and the service was prompt and friendly. There are outlets at most tables and the restrooms are SOCLEAN. There’s a little arcade in the back of the attached convenience store and it’s super easy to win at the claw machine. Great place

Mediocre food but absolutely the worst service ever. Took over 45 minutes just to serve our breatkfasts. The waitress apologized and said it was her fault — the cook was teaching her to cook! What!!! Will never stop here again.

Never go here! Enchilada with ground flavorless beef? Wtf Mexicans who can’t cook Mexican? No flavor in rice or beans or even the enchilada sauce! I should have saved the money, had more time and better food of o wouldn’t have been so stuck up and just went to the Taco Bell next door! I told the waitress I had to be on the bus at 1:15 At 1:05 I have to hunt her down and ask where my food is! Clearly it had been sitting under the lamp… THEREWEREONLY4 tables not like she was swamped! Goose Great after being sick on a bus this is what I get… another 2 hours before I see food and this dish hardly qualifies as food By the time I had got on the bus it was so cold and disgusting I couldn’t even eat it…

Bacon cheeseburger is so delicious! My mom had a fajita sandwich which I tasted and that was also very good. There is a nice sized salad bar for only a couple of dollars if you add it onto your meal. Overall, good food, prices, and service.

After 4 ½ hours in the car we were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service at Country Pride Restaurant at the TA travel center. The buffet was very fresh and came free with our entrees. The portion sizes were HUGE so we had plenty to take with us. My husband had the club sandwich and I ordered the baked ziti and chicken tenders for the kids. I shared my ziti with both kids and my husband and still had almost half to take home. The server checked on us just enough and anticipated our needs. She was very sweet. Another bonus is that it is attached to the convenience store and the bathrooms are some of the cleanest and best along I-5. It was a great place for a break!

People that work there are nice but the salad was old especially the eggs they were like rubber and the bread on my sandwich was hard

The food was surprisingly good for I-5 Central Valley standards. Country Pride used to have a cheap all-you-can-eat buffet but has switched over to a menu-based restaurant while retaining the salad bar /soup portion. I ordered the grilled fish and it was quite good; peppery and cooked properly. The portion sizes are quite large too. I also liked the salad bar selection and lentil soup.

Buttonwillow, California, humm. Get gas and use the rest room. Choices Subway, Carls Jr. and Taco Bell. This is a big stop off of Interstate 5 with lot’s of truck stops, gas stations and the Country Pride Restaurant. After a string of bad meals and weird happenings along the north south trips from the Bay Area and SoCal, I was looking for some new places to eat and stretch my legs. The Country Pride Restaurant is not the French Laundry, but its not bad. They have a fresh salad bar with soup and some other items. The salad items are good. The buffet is $ 10.95. I ordered the $ 11.99 dinner New York Strip which includes the salad bar. The steak was OK on par with Denny’s. The service was good and the restrooms clean. Exxon gas right out front door. Easy access back on to Interstate 5 within 200 yards. Don’t forget you are in Buttonwillow, what more could ask for. While we were there two buses stopped in.

Country Pride is located immediately adjacent to Taco Bell. My bf and I stopped here on our way to San Francisco. It was a little after 10 a.m. Breakfast buffet was $ 8.95, and had a selection of eggs, sausage, bologna, bacon, fruits, oatmeal, etc. There were only a few people here. Service was fair. Food was slightly below average.

My hubby & I stopped here for gas & lunch. He got the Memphis burger & I got the classic. Both were excellent. Our waitress was friendly & gave us good service. Better than fast food.

Holy cow, this place was sad and super gross! The advertised buffet was a wilted old heap of iceburg and carrots, overpriced collagualted hot taco barand nasty from the costco can refried beans! And 8.99? Geez this was our big mistake! We didn’t look at the buffet first. My kids even made comments and looked at me like, uh mom are we supposed to eat this? Also, most if the staff just sat around chatting or acting like they might hAve to get up if needed. I only saw the cook seems to care or act like he cared about getting food out with a smile. I think if tha fella had better fresh ingredients he would have a chance at being a better cook. Don’t Eat Here!!!
