My company has done business with these guys for at least 20 years. I remember going to the old store and when they built the new one. I do most of my ordering on the phone or via email and then have it delivered. Although I look for any excuse to go into the store because I love to tool shop. A lot of hardware stores hire goofballs who know nothing about what they sell, that has never been my experience at Mid-States. These guys know their stuff and will always find what I am looking for. I think can of several times where my sales guy put me on hold, rummages around the stock room and returns to say«yea we got em they’re covered in dust but we got em» when looking for a hard to find item. Needless to say, these guys have saved my butt a few times. I am also amazed at how low their prices are compared to McMaster Carr or Fastenal. They must have an «in» with some of these screw manufacturer’s.

I have been a customer of Mid-States Bolt and Screw for as long as I can remember. Going back to when it was on Grand Traverse St in Flint. It always has the exact thing that I need, even when I’m describing it as «that thingy that attaches to the other thingy». The employees take the time to ask me questions to help me find the correct item and are always helpful. I feel like even though they’ve grown and expanded they’ve continued to stay a «Michigan Local Business», and I like that. Now even after I’ve moved away from Michigan, I still shop there via their online store because I know they’re gonna have exactly what I need. Thank you for always providing great service and those hard to find items!

I’m going to make this short and sweet. This business is primarily based for business to business to sales/business owners. I recently bought the kids a Swiss Family Robinson style outdoor swing set and was in need of 3 specific screws that weren’t shipped in the kit. I didn’t want to wait a week for the manufacturer to ship out the missing screws so I went here to find the needle in the haystack. This was my first time here so I had no idea what to expect. I was greeted by a less than enthusiastic employee who asked what I wanted, got the screws, rang me up, and didn’t even say thanks or have a nice weekend(I went here on a Friday). Sounds like someone has a case of the weekends. The real deal here is the fact that the founder(now passed) and the his sons(current owners) are extreme big game hunters. The whole showroom is full of the trophy mounts of the various wild animals they caught. I’m no hippie, and am a meat eater, but also am an animal lover. I have to say that the amount of wild game on the walls and in the showroom are excessive. Who needs to hunt giraffes, leopards, or cheetahs? Seriously, hunting a giraffe is like hunting a horse to me, just seems wrong. I don’t care what people do with there personal lives but don’t understand why the need to show it off. The only thing missing was a cat and dog mounted somewhere on the wall. Once and done for me!
