Atrocious service and very expensive! I purchased a pair of glasses that cost over $ 600.00. Anyway, I went back because the glasses were uncomfortable due to the hard plastic nose pieces. I was hoping they would change them. To my dismay they refused and said this type of frame can’t be altered plus I had the glasses for more than 30 days so they were out of warranty anyway. They did offer a discount on my next pair. While that’s generous of them, I’ll pass and never go there again. Whats really frustrating is their total lack of customer service. Would any decent business upset a customer who’s been going there for years and hide behind their 30 day warranty? All they had to do was stand behind the products they sell. Now, I’m stuck with a very expensive paperweight.

I’ve been a customer to Lenscrafters for, at least 15 years. While I do have my regular optometrist I use for eye exams and contacts — I’ve always preferred the selection of frames at Lenscrafters for glasses and sunglasses. In recent years, I’ve had a few ‘hiccups’ with the corporation as a whole. To be honest, I was getting a little fed up and considered finding a new place for glasses. I’ve had issues with glasses breaking, and lenses scratching where in my 25+ years of wearing glasses(including childhood) I’ve never had issues. Last year, I spend half a day in the store ordering 2 pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses because their computer system kept crashing. I was more patient than a saint at that point and felt I deserved a prize for gutting it out… but no prize or additional discount. Just a halfhearted«thanks for your patience». I was also finding that their employees had lost touch with the customer experience of buying frames. As I sough opinions for styles, I didn’t feel any genuine answers. Also, when I finally did pick out frames the whole process of fitting the frames to your face seemed to have been forgotten. Even when I asked for assistance, I got a «oh they’re fine» type reply. I can be a glutton for punishment… But I prefer to look at it as an optimist. I wasn’t entirely set on giving up on a company that I have provided patronage to for the last 15 years or so. So off to Lenscrafters I went yesterday in search of some new frames. Now, to provide a little bit of information about me, I’m a creature of habit. So much so, that people rarely notice when I get new glasses. I can spend 4 hours in a store picking out frames and leave with a pair nearly identical to those I already have. I know what I like. don’t judge. So I enter my local Lenscrafters in search of my new glasses. I’m immediately greeted by a store clerk(Dawn) who offers assistance. I kindly tell her that I will be a while and would just like some time to view the selections on my own. I’m not a fan of someone standing around me while I’m trying to pick things out… I feel rushed… so I always try to give the brush off to sales reps in the kindest ways possible. She informs me of the current promo, gives me her name and the names of others working and leaves me be. She periodically checks in on me and eventually, I cave… I need some options narrowed down. She offers much assistance with picking out frames and offering styling opinions. The whole experience was actually very fun… we kept things light hearted and Dawn seemed to appreciate my sense of humor. After picking out the frames I wanted we sat down and completed the process. Dawn was incredibly efficient in her job and kept things moving along… she price compared the sale to what my insurance covered and provided me the breakdown. She also made sure the glasses fit my face comfortably and made necessary adjustments. To my surprise, my glasses would be ready in ‘about an hour’. Which is extremely rare for me as my prescription is usually not readily available in the store(as past experience has played out). I came back to the store an hour later and one of two pairs were immediately ready. After an additional 10 minute wait, the second pair was complete. We sat down for a final fitting, making sure the glasses fit the way they are supposed to. This happy camper was on her way about 10 minutes later. I’m more than satisfied with my latest experience. Employees like Dawn, can help rebuild a tarnished image and I’m grateful to have been assisted by her.

This is my second annual exam at this location. We recently moved and I wanted to establish myself at the Dr office of a ‘real’ optometrist aka neighborhood-non-chain optometrist. I found it would take over a month to be seen so I went back to this Lenscrafters location by my office. I was 5 minutes late for my appointment. They did see me quickly. I have to say the only thing strange to me about the Lenscrafter experience is both times I have been there, my Dr is(or seems) younger than me! That said, Dr Luty did a fine job and I have no qualms about my visit or eye exam. The rest of the staff was very nice. I purchased contacts and left with a prescription for glasses. They do tend to be expensive where glasses are concerned, but that’s due to the name brands. I believe they have off-brands as well, and I know they have various promos.

If you like you’re designer brands… Lenscrafters is the way to go. Some may complain about their expensive prices but Tory Burch or Chanel are brands that never come at a bargain(unless they are fake). I was lucky that I have a vision insurance discount but it doesn’t really help that much because they always have some sort of deal going on — like 50% off the frames. I’ve had several pairs of glasses from Lenscrafters and other eyecare providers and nothing beats their featherweight lenses. They’re a bit pricey, but well worth the money. My biggest complaint about this place is this particular location’s disorganization. My prescription is not common so the lenses have to be ordered at the headquarters and both times they said they would call when they arrived, and they didn’t. In fact, the second time around I said I was annoyed they didn’t call the previous time. I just can’t believe they didn’t call AGAIN. I told this to one of the associates and she told me, «I promise, we call our customers.» Too bad they didn’t call me! So if you order a pair of glasses, don’t wait for them to call you.
