Mediocre at best. Let’s start out with, «Service was fantastic!» and«lots of parking!» When I get buzzed I’m extra friendly, and that’s all I could come up with. We met up with my mother and her husband for them to buy us beer and snacks. Not gonna turn that down, obvi. Beer: it seemed like a lot of the tap list wasn’t actually available on tap, which was frustrating. If you have frequent tap turnover, don’t publish it, please! So frustrating. Nachos: chips + cheez whiz. Not impressed. They did have fresh jalapeños instead of pickled. I guess that’s dedication. Cheese curds: small and overcooked. Not good. Boneless wings: buffalo + bbq sauce, per server recommendation(see«fantastic service» above). Definitely the best food we had. To note, the«wings» were just chicken strips with sauce.

Stopped in last night to relax and hear some music. Being fairly new to the area, my wife and I like to hear music in a comfortable setting. I did my research looking for an area location and landed on Venue 13. The band, Coyote Wild, appeared to be of our liking so we decided to give it a shot. Are ever glad we chose Venue 13. The place was inviting and we were welcomed in by our waitress immediately. Though we had eaten prior to wandering in, the menu looked like really good comfort food. We watched it parade by, big burgers, awesome looking desserts, gourmet looking dishes. We’ll definitely be back to give the food a shot. Our drinks were kept filled by Michelle who was ever smiling. The friendliness of the staff from our entrance until our exit with a come back soon was one that made a big impression. This is a great spot for friends or a date. Even a great spot for those of us a little older. Keep up the great work Venue 13 and keep the bands coming. We’ll be back…

I want to mention that I met one of the chef’s prior to McKracken’s transition to Venue 13. He had fantastic enthusiasm about his work and I appreciated his drive to improve the customer experience at the establishment. Unfortunately, my experience at this location today was sub-par. We(girlfriend and I) walked in and waited a few minutes and eventually seated ourselves because there was no sight of a host or server. After sitting for a few more minutes, we eventually were greeted by a server. She was nice, so no complaints there. We ordered coffee and french toast. The coffee came out after a couple minutes but it was room temperature and tasted like it was made a week ago(worst coffee I’ve ever had). I assumed the food would be up quickly or the server would come back to refill us so we could get a fresh replacement. After over a half hour of waiting, we decided to get up and leave. I don’t typically don’t like to do this but we were at the establishment for over 40 minutes for breakfast with nothing to show but disgusting coffee. We ended up going to the Windmill Café down the road. Within 5 minutes of entering the place, we had hot coffee. Within around 5 more minutes, we had our breakfast(no lie). Oh, and the server there was very attentive about our coffee refills.

If you like waiting ten minutes for re fills, room temperature food, and false happy hour advertisements, than this is the place for you.

I stopped into Venue 13 to check out a Led Zep tribute band and ended up having dinner. The Sirloin tips were tender and tasty and the cheese curds, though not state fair quality, were pretty good. Staff was friendly and prices reasonable… Happy hour is really generous too. I’ll be back!

I have been here once before when it was McKracken’s, and the food was so-so. Now that it is under new ownership, it appears they are taking their food a bit more seriously. I ordered the wings, and chose the chefs own«venue sauce,» which was super flavorful, with a bit of heat. It’s not currently on the menu, so you may need to ask for it. I found out that they now do a large portion of the menu from scratch, which you would never in a million years expect walking into the place. I had come here this second time while waiting for my car to get done and will now come back solely based on the new food options and knowing that someone with passion is running their kitchen(I swear I do not know the chef)!

We stopped in for a beer after work… it’s the same as McKrackens and Blackdawg. The girl waiting on us was very professional and pleasant. Really like that they have bands every Wed-Sun. Good luck Venue 13!
