Tim Stegall Carpet

I own and run a construction company. I have known Tim from when he just did installs. Now he sells high quality carpet and coordinates the installs, and knows every aspect of how it should be done. I cannot recommend Tim Stegall highly enough.

I have been very impressed with Tim and his flooring store. Tim is always reliable, friendly, and enjoyable to be around whenever we do business together. He keeps his most popular carpets in stock so fast service is always available. He is also willing to go the extra mile for his customers and always provides a low pressure sales experience so I can take my time to figure out what is best for me. I have and will continue to recommend Tim Stegall Carpet to everyone I know. Thanks Tim.

Worst customer service ever. EVER. I stopped by his store and he didn’t want to give me a quote until he came over and measured the place, even though I had the measurements. I needed to get some new carpet in a very short window, and he acted very helpful and nice until he arrived at my house with another guy and then turned into a total creep. I’m a single female; he put his hand on my shoulder and said, «Are you ready for The TIm-​ster?» INAPPROPRIATE, to say the least.
Then he and his partner tracked mud all into my home, and up the stairs. I asked them to be more conscientious — why don’t they have those booties to wear to keep my house clean? Common sense! Also, the space I needed done was only 12×12. But he kept trying very hard to talk me out of buying a remnant — I needed to re-​carpet a spare bedroom, and it’s the only carpet in the whole house. Everything else is hardwood. He kept criticizing all my choices, telling me what i liked was «out of style» or «wouldn’t wear well» or «looked really dated.» I was trying to be economical — it’s a spare bedroom, not a heavy traffic area. It doesn’t need to be top of the line, stain master, 20 year guarantee. I should have walked out at that point, but I didn’t.
I was very uncomfortable about the whole thing and I heard him berating me to his partner when he was in my garage, calling me names and making comments about how he was going to mark up the job because he didn’t like me and he knew I didn’t have many options because i had tenants moving in the next day. I asked him to leave and he and his partner responded by telling me to «blank off.»
WORST EXPERIENCE in a very long time.
I must not be too impossible to work with — within two hours time, I had my choice of two other local companies who offered top notch service, clear cut pricing, and MANNERS. «The TIm-​ster» was rude, crass, and a complete waste of time. Go somewhere else. In fact, go ANYWHERE ELSE.
