I would give location higher ratings because of the option to fill your box by weight, not all big bowl express let you do this. So you basically grab a box and fill it up with the entrees you like and pay by weight appetizer are not included in this deal! I like their food and find it better than mall Chinese any given day. The fried rice and sesame chicken are my favs… but I also love their potstickers!

Either they made a complete 180 in the last year from the last 2 reviews or I’m missing something. The food was fresh and very tasty, not as good as the Galleria dine-in location by any means, but a step up from most take-out Chinese. My only complaint was every dish had chicken with 1 beef option and beef is a $ 2 up-charge(they also have a shrimp option, but I don’t eat seafood). My family is not a big fan of Leeann Chin, but everyone enjoyed Big Bowl so something was done right. I wouldn’t recommend the Curry Chicken, it did not taste very authentic. But all the other chicken dishes were very good. Byerly’s excellent soup and salad bar has some competition in my mind. Sushi is located nearby so you can have a Sushi accompaniment with your Big Bowl entrée. Portions are good and pricing is adequate.

The orange chicken is so bland and tastless. I had a buy one coupon and got chicken pad thai for myself and orsange chicken for my 8 year old. the chicken pad thai is not listed but will make to order in 5 minutes. Most pad thais have crushed peanuts, this one gives you whole peanuts strange. They seem to fill your entrée mostly with peppers or fillers. Please bring back Leann Chin! The service was good though.

I had been waiting for Big Bowl Express to open at Byerly’s in Burnsville ever since I saw the coming soon sign while doing my grocery shopping. I went to Big Bowl Express at the Byerly’s in Burnsville on a Saturday night a week ago at 7:45. The only other person in the line ahead of me had ordered a large order by the pint/quart. The people working at the Big Bowl told her her appetizers that she wanted she could not have because they didn’t have any made(this was 15 minutes prior to close — they had the appetizers, they just said to her they weren’t making any more so she would have to pick something else). The pans of food in the hot case were either empty or half full. They didn’t have enough of one of the entrée items that she ordered, so instead of making more they just filled half her container up and told her she would need to pick something else. It took a good 10 minutes for this all to go on with her laughing frustratedly and looking at me each time the guys working there told her she couldn’t have another item she ordered. At this point it was 7:55 pm, 5 minutes to close, no fresh food had been made(in fact they already had the entire cooking line area put away) and the food out there(that was left) frankly looked old. I simply walked away without ordering anything and as I turned to walk away they turned off the lights. Now I get wanting to get out of work on a Saturday night, but this was totally unacceptable. Big Bowl’s website says«Big Bowl Chinese Express is a quick way to enjoy the same fresh and authentic Chinese food that made Big Bowl restaurants so popular.» Now if this is their concept of fresh, I would have to say that Big Bowl has jumped the shark and Parasole(the owners of Big Bowl) needs to close this down. I also can not believe that Byerly’s — the store known for over the top service and quality — would let this steam tray fiasco into their stores! It cheapens them and seriously lowers the impression of Byerly’s for me. Seriously, with all of the wonderful Chinese food available in the Twin Cities — and even south of the river — you would be out of your mind to put up with or eat old food clearly not only not made to order but also purchased from people who clearly didn’t give a crap about their customers. I have always loved Big Bowl and Big Bowl Express at the Eagan Byerly’s. This experience has me questioning if I will ever bother to eat there again. My suggestion to you, don’t waste your time.
