Not good. Pizza is completely tasteless and bread hard as a rock. It can’t be that hard!!!

This place was ok. I was not impressed but the customer service was amazing and that’s why I’m giving this place 3 stars. I felt like I was visiting an old friend back in time. It is a very welcoming atmosphere though.

I have to say… every time someone suggests going here for lunch, I cringe a little inside. I’m a person with very sensitive teeth, so my main problem is their bread. I love subs. but their bread is so hard, I can barley cut through it with a knife. I would rather drive the 20 minutes to the Downtown OIP in Lewistown than eat at this place 2 minutes away.

White pizza & homemade Italian subs on freshly-baked ciabatta along with the lunch specials are very hard to beat. The new management is warm, friendly & very accomodating. Haven’t tried anything besides the standard fare so I’m keeping this at 3-stars & the prices are great. East coast pizza! Always busy, consistently good quality & local favorite.

Way better than the OIP in Lewistown.

Put in a big order for our large party of ladies. All sandwiches were big enough for 2 girls. We could have all shared. I got the Ham & Cheese. It was really good. The Veggie was very good. It had Lettuce, Tomato, Mushroom, and onion. We added cheese to it. The Regular Italian sub was fabulous. The toss salad was mostly lettuce and a little chicken. It came with bread that was really good. The turkey sub was great. The cheese steak regular was only OK, a 3⁄10.

Very clean restaurant, large menu of entrees, sandwiches and pizza. Had a tossed salad that was just iceberg, tomatoes and cukes, good sized but nothing special, but the bread basket was great — their own dough, fresh & hot. Received the Italian sampler with fettuccine Alfredo and stuffed shells(good) and an OK chicken Parmesan. The real treat was the bread in both of the sauces. 3 stars, a good family or lonely traveler stop. I’d go back.

We stopped at the Burnham OIP last night for the first time in several years and were very impressed with the menu, cleanliness, and quality of the food. During the week they offer a dinner for 2 special for $ 24. This includes 2 salads with bread, choice of appetizer, and two entrées. In addition to the regular dinner entrées you can select from, a 12 in specialty pizza is also a choice as one of the meals. We both ordered a different specialty pizza for our two entrees and were impressed when they arrived about the larger than 12 inch size and the large amount of toppings on each. This 2 for $ 24 deal is very much a bargain. The quality of food was very good and the pizzas have moved to the front of the numerous OIP restaurants in the area. We will be returning!

Just a little update to my old review. I ordered a large pizza from here the night before taking a trip to visit relatives. They wanted some packed up subs as Georgia really doesn’t have much in the way of OIP type restaurants. After bringing home the packed subs, we ate our pizza. Honestly, it was really bad. I truly hate giving bad reviews to these guys. Like I said in my old review, they are super nice. But nice only goes so far. Restaurants are largely about the quality of food. The Burnham OIP was known for their food. That is the main thing that has changed. Granted, the menu is expanded. The new menu items might be great. But they should really ditch the name, the original Burnham menu, and go with their own thing. Because, frankly, if you don’t even have the ingredients or recipe for the pizza, you are in sad shape. The staple of every oip is its bread and pizza. These guys have screwed that up!

I’ve always enjoyed this place for lunch, but now my gluten-free spouse can enjoy Burnham OIP as they just introduced a comprehensive GF menu with pizza, salads, wings, entrees, pasta, and chocolate tortes. The GF pizza is a frozen thin crust that is very tasty, and has lots of toppings options. The kitchen is very careful w/cross contamination. The Gluten-free Chicken tenders and fresh cut fries were great as well. For non-GF diners, I like the cold subs, although sometimes the once-legendary bread is over-baked and too crunchy. The cheese steaks are sometimes a little too sparse on meat, but overall, you’ll enjoy solid Italian food and subs. Service is inconsistent, but usually friendly. They get extra points from us as the only GF option in Mifflin County other than Hoss’s.

the busy parking lot drew us in. the restaurant is nicer than it appears from the outside. they sell pizza by the slice and offer Cheesecake Factory desserts. we were off to a good start… my other half ordered the crab alfredo(disappointment). tasted like I could have made this dish with a jar of supermarket brand alfredo sauce and can of crab meat. I tried the lunch special, for under $ 7, I had the choice of a ½ sub, side(slice of pizza, soup, fries,…) and beverage. I opted for their chicken sub(meh) and a slice of mushroom pizza(a-ok). this place appears to be popular with the locals and perhaps we ordered the wrong things. if in the area again around lunch time, this would not be my first choice but may probably consider stopping by for a slice or two.

Holy crap… you east coasters take food like this for granted. So in I went to try it. By California standards, the food was good… great pizza… I tried nothing else so I can’t give any insights there. Quick and easy service… albeit a bit slow… but overall, just what I expected and had hoped for.

The new ownership has been a huge plus! The food is much better, and the restaurant is cleaner. One of the best places to get a great meal at affordable prices.

According to my folks, this place has taken a nosedive, but since I visit infrequently, I still find it good enough for a nostalgia trip. I must eat here at least once per visit. After yesterday’s meal, I can tell you that the pizza is very good but not the same as before. However, the sausage sub that I had was phenomenal. Just sausage, peppers, onions, cheese, and marinara on their once-legendary-but-now-merely-great sub roll. They have a nicely priced lunch special for $ 7 with a fair set of mix-and-match options. Service is still not their strong suit, but you won’t decide to go or not based on that anyway. At least they still give out Andes Mints when they bring the check.

We ate here today as with the other complaints the new owners have made to many changes. We ordered the dinner the toss salads are a joke to say the least it’s a bowl full of lettuce. They try to make it better by putting two small slices of tomatoes, and cucumbers on the salad but it really doesn’t help. To be fair most tossed salads are liked this at other local restaurants. My friend ordered the sausage and peppers and the sauce was very oily and the sausage was cold. The manager on duty did take it off the bill so we thought we would try the lasagna it was burnt and cold in the middle. The ravioli was good though nice and hot. Some serious changes need to be made here to get this place back on track.

Update and it’s bad news. The new owners have taken a once reliable OK restaurant to a «no thanks, I’ll pass». Cheap ingredients and worse service have made this the last place we’ll go for food. We’ll actually drive past this OIP to go to any other OIP in the area. The owners should hire Frank to consult on how to fix this mess.

Once, this was my favorite place to pick up a sub in the area. The food is still recognizable, but the change of ownership, in my experience, has led to an increase in lost orders and mistakes. Before considering ordering ahead, ask yourself if you’re ok with mix-ups. I can’t speak for dining in.
