Decent priced room for a hotel near PSU. All rooms were booked near PSU, this hotel is good for overflow. Is around 40 minutes to PSU. Shower went hot and cold. Good size room. Check in took a little long, yet very kind.

Overpriced for what it is. I booked here for a Friday and Saturday night, and LUCKILY it was fairly empty, because the walls are so thin I could hear another couple talking, running water, unpacking, etc. I can’t imagine what it would be like if lots of people were there. The rooms are clean, bland — nothing good or bad there, but depressing in my opinion. Nothing bright or happy. With tax, it was almost $ 95 a night, for an outside entrance, no amenity motel… without even a vending machine to purchase snacks from. No gym… no place to run. There was a pool, but I didn’t use it. This place should be $ 60 – 70 bucks a night.

I guess if you have to stay somewhere this side of the 7 Mountains, you can’t expect something too great. This place certainly is not. The room smells musty. There are iron burns on the carpet. The wall paper is falling in a few corners. The rooms are outdated and smallish. The pool looks a little scary. Not sure if I should swim in it or not. That all said, it looks like they are making some upgrades. The pool is, at least, functional and seemingly clean. The rooms have newer LCD tvs. The rooms, sheets, blankets, etc. look clean. The Best Western is a few exits ahead, on your way to State College. It is around 5 years old and maybe a little more modern. Maybe that is a better option. But at least Quality Inn has a decent restaurant.

The hotel rooms are clean and the room is decent for the price. The pool is very nice and ideal when traveling with a softball team as we were. My biggest complaint is the fact that my room, as well as two others in our group, did not have working air conditioning on a weekend when the temperatures were in the 90s and the girls were playing softball in the sun all day :-/The desk staff was very friendly and empathetic to our complaint but with a lack of extra rooms with double beds available for the night, were unable to accomodate a move for us to air conditioning. I am also not a fan of the outside room entrances. Finally, the walls are very very thin and I could hear yelling and talking into the night by people congregating in the parking lot.

If you’re cruising through the Appalachian Mountains, your choices for good hotels are probably few and far between. The Quality Inn is probably just as good as any other place around here, including Super 8s and the like. It’s not fabulous, but it’s okay for a night or two. No frills, just a clean, cheap place. I stayed here for business, not by choice. First of all, you have to pull in to the gas station and drive behind it to get to the motel. The walls are kind of thin. I could hear my neighbor talking on the phone, but it didn’t last forever and I was tired, so it didn’t bother me too terribly. The grounds were quiet in March, but I would expect a lot more noise in the summer when the pool is open, especially since all of the rooms open to the outside(no hallways). The WiFi works pretty good in the meeting rooms, but don’t expect a strong or consistent connection in your room. Tony’s is the restaurant attached to the motel. I had breakfast there and the pancakes seemed old, like what you’d find in a buffet line. The eggs tasted like they were from a carton or something and the bacon wasn’t too terrific. Their coffee is on the weak side, which sucks since there aren’t many coffee places nearby. Other little complaints: My iron didn’t work, the cleaning staff used some awful citrus smelling junk in my room, which made me nauseas, and the one outlet not blocked by big furniture is controlled by a light switch. The light plugged in to it has no on/off switch, so if you want to use that outlet, you have to unplug the lamp or sleep with it blazing all night. Kind of odd, but not a complete deal-breaker. The shower head is at a good height if you’re 5’5″ or shorter.

The pool — vital for kids on a long trip — is closed due to a «broken pump». WiFi is spotty. Drain stopper in the tub came out. Room IS clean, and the restaurant was pretty good for the area. The grounds are a bit shabby, but acceptable.
