Came here for karaōke. Had a great time. The waitress who was on her own did a great job keeping drinks and food orders up. I had the Mac and cheese which was ok for bar food.

Figured I would give it another shot this weekend, still the same bartender busting her butt to wait the entire place. Although it is pretty warm, the smell of propane is a little stronger this winter than previous years. (I feel sorry for the person who lights a cigarette within 50 ft. of this place.

What a pleasant surprise. I had no preconceived ideas when we wandered in one day. Just wanted to try out a neighborhood dive bar. Great staff, very good food. You should try this place.
It has to be tough being down the street from the Train Wreck. If you can’t find a seat at the Wreck, then head to the Varsity.

What a shit hole and the drunken owner being a a$$hole yelling at employees and patrons both. Dude sober up if you’re going to act like you run a business. The service was awesome

Good food and great service by Sam. If I lived closer I would frequent this restaurant/​bar more often. Shrimp tacos was composed of large shrimp and scrumptious as well as the brisket sandwich. We devoured the Buffalo Wings.

The 4 stars are based on what this place is. It doesn’t try to be anything it’s not. It’s a neighborhood «joynt». It’s clean, the food is much better than you’d expect walking in the door (try the grinder, it was excellent), and the staff is friendly. Prices are good too. Nothing complicated. They know who & what they are. I’ll be back.

I can’t comment on the food as I did not eat the evening I spent at Varsity Inn, but my low score is based purely on the terrible bar service. Waited over 20 minutes for each of the three beers I ordered, and if that wasn’t bad enough, I had to watch the bartenders skip me over to help regulars that were behind me in line. I may not frequent this place often (I was there to watch a band that I love) but I tip just as well if not better than the peeps I was getting skipped for. If it wouldn’t have been for the kick ass music, the night would have been a total loss.
