I had the waffle with Apple compote and whip cream. The waffle was small and thin and there was way too much Apple and whip cream making it a very sweet plate. I felt like there could have been two waffles and half as much dressings. I also had a large orange juice and with tip I ended paying $ 18 for one person… and I was still kinda hungry. I did not realize I paid almost $ 4 for an everyday Oj. I will give it another chance cause the menu was original and the food was prepared well.

Everything is delicious. Enjoyed a wafflini which somehow tastes like a cheese batter — unreal. Enjoyed their lobster hash(holiday special), but have also had their haystack at a prior visit. I really don’t think you can lose. We will definitely be back!

In my opinion and experience, this is the best breakfast spot in Burlington. The menu is interesting and offers unique variations on standard breakfast fare that do not sacrifice taste or comfort. The atmosphere is fun and funky, and the service is friendly and prompt. Don’t forget to try a pinwheel!

My husband and I finally checked this place out and we’re glad we did! We tried the wafflini, the spaetzle, and biscuits and gravy. The food was dynamite and the service was friendly and attentive. Penny Cluse, you have some serious competition!

Brought my NYC guests here for something new and exciting and it did not disappoint. The wafflinis are UNREAL and a must try, even just as an appetizer(yes, I even ordered an appetizer for breakfast because this place is SOGOOD). The skits and gravy, for my main course ;), was also amazing. New favorite breakfast joint!

We love the retro-western atmosphere of this place! Andrew is a creative chef/owner who delivers great daily specials like corn pancake and maple syrup topped by green chile infused pulled pork and two eggs on top smothered in jalapeño béchamel. Add retro western music and ambiance, popovers as a staple offering and an array of great baked goods with a good cup of cowboy coffee and your morning or afternoon is off to a good start!

Excellent popovers! Great breakfast place I try to hit when in Burlington. I have not had a bad meal here, I’ve a number of years and different times of year. Good pastries: pinwheels stand out!

25 – 30 minute wait on Saturday at 10:20 am. Service was fine. We got a side of hash browns which were good but not great. A popover on the side that wasnt hot enough. Might be better to get the stuffed popover instead of the side order. The Pig In A Blanket that had sausage that was good but we all thought the sourdough flapjack tasted off if you will. Half order of The Waffilini with prosciutto gouda and honey which was good but was expecting more filling for the price. Skits N Gravy was our favorite. The owner and head chef was cooking in the kitchen which we like to see. He had a dirty towel over his shoulder the entire time which anyone in the food business knows is not sanitary. We might be back but we prefer other locations in the area.

The food was delicious! The best breakfast I in Burlington, VT. The wafflelini(?) was an flaky experience. My boyfriends plate was also heavenly. I didn’t enjoy the coffee, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying their delicious and unique breakfast food.

Yum. The Eggs Cassidy were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and they used chili without beans, which I really appreciated. Just the right amount of food. Very satisfied. The coffee was also good and the server was very pleasant.

I’m semi-hesitant to review this place so well because it’s currently so easy to get a table there! This is my go-to for brunch because not only is it outstanding it’s also reasonably priced and has great ambiance(it feels like a dining room at a ranch). My go-to is definitely the wafflini custom order of turkey, gouda and apple that never fails to please. Other offerings I’ve tried are the Brookside, which is a departure from my normal breakfast but delicious nonetheless, and Eggs Cassidy which had the best hollandaise sauce in recent memory. The next time you’re standing line for 45+ minutes at Penny Cluse do yourself a favor and take a shortcut south through the parking garage and continue on Center St toward Swingin’ Pinwheel!

This place is great! It is also a little around the corner from Church street so it isn’t as crazy-packed as other places in the area get. If you aren’t up for being swarmed– this would be the place to try! Their food and drinks are amazing. Their hot chocolate is high quality(along with their iced chai). Their bacon is good(rare trait for some places) and their biscuits are worth the trip alone. That said, their prices are reasonable for most items but the breakfast sandwich prices are a little on the high side. You can get a lot more bang for your buck(and just as high quality) by getting a breakfast sandwich from The Bagel Place. However, you would miss out on their incredible biscuits! Occasionally, has deals for this place which makes the pricing a bit more do-able for those on a tight budget. I’ve gone here 3 – 4 times now and waitstaff have always friendly and accommodating. I’ll definitely be coming back here. :)

I wanted to try the wafflini or the popovers, but didn’t want something too heavy, I’ll have to plan my hunger a bit better next time. The pastry selection wasn’t jumping out at me. I decided for a savory side… side of hash browns. They were the shredded kind and freshly pan /griddle prepared. It hit the spot! Will be back for full sit down meal!

Absolutely delicious! Started off tasty iced chai latte(not too spicy, just how I like it) and good iced coffee. My sister got a tasty breakfast sandwich on delicious focaccia bread with tomatoes, spinach, basil. Extremely tasty. I got the wafflini with prosciutto, Gouda and honey. Absolutely delicious. They use waffle dough and its pressed like a panini. Highly recommend it. Too stuffed to try the pastries that looked amazing. Great service, attentive, quality check. And very important, clean bathrooms.

Waffle + panini = party in my mouth! The waffle pastry dough is amazing, soft and fluffy and reminds me of the authentic Belgium waffle(sugar sugar butter everywhere) guy at the foggy bottom farmers market. Stuffed with cheese, Apple, bacon! Love at first bite. Very filling at a half size. I got an egg sunny side up and bacon gravy with it. Oh em gee I could not finish it. The side of black beans salsa and spinach was amazingly delicious too! The staff and cook are supremely friendly! I sat at the counter and chatted with them. They were very engaging with all the customers and it seemed like they have regulars too. I expect to be one just on this trip alone!

Funky little hole-in-the-wall style café in downtown Burlington. When my husband and I stopped in for breakfast, they were pretty empty, so we sat right down and were served right away. I liked the décor, although they might want to double check their furniture –my husband’s chair sort of broke while he was sitting on it(one of the spokes came out, but we put it right back). The food was solid. My husband had some sort of egg-benedict inspired breakfast(the eggs cassidy?), which he liked. I had their wafflini. It wasn’t as exciting as I was expecting — I think it was just pastry dough that had been cooked in a waffle iron, with a few crumbles of bacon in the middle. For $ 11, I expected maybe a little more than bacon bits(there couldn’t have been more than half a slice of bacon in my waffle), but it was tasty enough. We both really liked the salsa that came on the side. Overall cute and a bit unusual. Maybe next time I would order something different, but I would probably go back if I were in Burlington again.

SOGOOD. I went here for breakfast with my best friend after looking at reviews online. We were not disappointed by any means. I had the Wafflini with turkey, apple, cheddar and added in spinach and had an egg on the side. I originally ordered«half» not knowing if I was going to like it; however, I was given a «full» order. ATEITALL. ALLOFIT. It was like a pannini except it had a sweet, light waffle dough instead of bread. Very yummy and perfect for breakfast. My friend got the Eggs Cassidy which is pulled pork/steak on two corn cakes and topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Personally I am not a fan or pulled pork style meat, but my friend loved it. She kept saying how it was the best blend of smokey sauce and hollandaise. No complaints on either end. The atmosphere was pleasant and very comfortable. Great conversation was able to be had over amazing food. The perfect morning. We will be back again.

Found this hidden gem, located right between Revolution Kitchen and Daily Planet. Not too many people when I came in, it was a late Tuesday morning. Service was great. Food was delicious, I had the Haystack Hashbrown with smoked salmon, sour cream, capers and chives. Added a couple scrambled eggs and cheddar-scallion grits. Had a iced chair latte on the side. Made a great brunch type meal. Definitely will be back.

Came here with my best friend for Sunday brunch. It was packed but worth the 15 minute wait. We got the stuffed popovers for appetizers. Wow. So good! They were so warm, soft and moist. Tastes like home cooking ! Yumm. Then I got the maple syrup waffilini. I got the half portion instead of the full. I was still full at the end! The half serving looks small but trust me it was filling. The waffilini was so sweet and moist too. Every bite was so good and mouth watering. It was absolutely perfect. So much better than it looks! Absolutely amazing. Pinwheel has a Midwestern vibe. I felt like I forgot my cowboy hat. Definitely amazing place that everyone in Vermont should come and try. I love that it tastes like home cooking. Four stars because I felt the service wasn’t that great.

I’ve waited so long to check out Swingin’ Pinwheel Café and the food is definitely as good as they say. My bestie and I came for brunch on a Sunday and the place was packed. I had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but the wait staff was really amazing. 2 wait staff asked us if we were helped to make sure we were. Service was really quick and the food was absolutely one of the best brunch meals I’ve ever had. This is me talking on a half full stomach and believe me, I still had a second stomach to eat brunch because the food was that good. #Stuffed Popovers — soft, moist, and delicious. Definitely better than the popovers I had before. Was a little too much on the bland side for me, but nothing a little salt and hot sauce couldn’t fix. #Prosciutto, Guada, Honey waffilini — foodgasmic good. Savory, a little sweet, a little salty, and just melts in your mouth. Better than I expected. I’m going to order a full one next time and savor every bite. This was definitely worth the trip alone. Very unique but delicious dish. I was afraid it would be too sweet, but that definitely was not a problem at all. I love how there’s little wait even though the place is packed, speedy service, as well as unique and delicious food. The feeling inside is a small hole-in-wall place that felt like walking into someone’s house. This café gives off a little bit of a midwestern vibe. This just became one my new favorite brunch places in Vermont. I can’t wait to go back. Happy eating!
