Rheumatology Arthritis-Fletcher Allen

When I was first suffering from my rheumatoid arthritis I was in my early 20’s. The first doctor I saw here tried to convince me that it was in my head despite and extensive family history. The second doctor I saw there was sure that I was only in pain because I was overweight. The third doctor I saw was ready to jump to a diagnosis in a single visit and then prescribe me super aggressive drugs as a first resort. Those drugs made me sicker and she had me convinced that couldn’t be true. In the end, I should have contacted Patient & Family Relations and made a complaint but I didn’t know that I could, really. Five years of potential early treatment down the drain because they couldn’t take the time to listen and treat me like a person instead of another wallet coming through the door. I hear they sometimes have good folks, but those folks always leave for better jobs.
