We looove this little place. Our go to take out place! Sweet Steak mini bowl is amazing and a perfect portion. The dining room is really small so dining in is, a little cramped but PERFECT for take out plus the people who work there are always very nice.

This place is wonderful! I especially like the spicy chicken. The menu is limited, but everything I’ve had is delicious. The owner is a super sweet lady, who always brings out extra treats for us to try. There are only about 5 tables in the restaurant, but I’ve never had a problem finding a seat; perfect for take out also. I went a few weeks ago and have gone every week since. This is my favorite new lunch spot! If you’re in the mood for ethnic you should absolutely check this place out!

Mixed Rice is an unassuming strip mall eatery. It is small, around 10 seats with counter service. There is nothing about the look of Mixed Rice that would draw you to it. That being said the food is outstanding. The contrast between the quality of the food and my expectations was immense. The only thing that surpassed the food was the service. The owner left me feeling like I had gone to momma’s house for dinner. On the whole it was great and relatively cheap dining experience. Atmosphere 2 — Mixed Rice is definitely rocking a strip mall takeout joint vibe. It is small with a somewhat plain décor. If you are wanting to enjoy a nice evening out with fresh cut flowers, dim lights, and quite jazz music playing in the back ground this is not it. Service 5 — I can not say enough nice things about the way I was treated. The owner was exceptionally sweet. She came out to check on us several times and brought us samples of items for us to try. She really gave off that doting mother vibe.
Cost/Value 5 — The prices for what you get are in a word cheap. I got several items and my total bill was still under $ 15. Food 5 — The food was top notch. I tried a couple of different items. The rice cakes were well prepared and spicy but not too spicy, Bulgogi was well done, and the spring rolls were perfectly crispy. I don’t think they make their own Kimchi but it was still tasty. I look forward to returning to try the Bibimbop.

In a time when we should be supporting local businesses, this one is easy to get behind. The Spicy Chicken Bibimbap Bowl is delicious. The service is kind and warm. Truly a unique little place with tasty tasty food.

I’m very new to Korean cuisine but my second visit to this place has me hooked. The owner is very attentive, kind, and treats you like a house guest if you’re dining in. I had the spicy chicken and the colorful assortment of veggies, rice, and meat was a treat to the eyes and the palate. Totally recommend this new venture and hope it does well.

This restaurant IS fantastic! I have lived in South Korea for 6 years and my wife was born there, so we are pretty schooled in Korean cuisine. It’s a small restaurant with just a few tables, but what it lacks in atmosphere it more than makes up in authenticity and flavor. The owner/server/chef makes everything each day. For example, she makes her own fresh kimchi and sometimes she makes more than one kind. Don’t miss her kimchi if you like spicy cabbage, a staple of Korean society. The cabbage kimchi I had with my lunch today was the star of my lunch, but here are the other foods my wife and I ordered for about 20 bucks. For lunch I ordered the spicy chicken with rice and my wife ordered the glass noodles with chicken and we also shared an order of kimbap(Korean California roll) and the aforementioned kimchi. All our dishes tasted as if they had been just made by a wise Korean grandmother. My dish was especially good. My dish was spicy with just a little sweetness and there was a slight taste of ginger as well. It is served over a bed of white, steamed Korean rice. The sauce on the chicken was hot, so be warned if you don’t like hot food, order something else. I ate a couple bites of my wife’s glass noodles with chicken dish(not spicy). It was awesome tasting. It was flavored with just the right amounts of onions, garlic, and sesame oil and it was also served over a bed of white steamed Korean rice. The dish sizes were not huge, but just enough to fill up. The lunch combo comes with a Chinese style egg roll(strange for a Korean restaurant, but oh well) and soda pop. The egg roll tasted as if it were just made, crunchy but not oily at all. Finally, the kimbap(vegetarian) tasted just like ones I had eaten for many years in the restaurants I remember in Seoul, South Korea. It was great. I would order each dish again tomorrow if I went there. I hope this restaurant makes a success here in our town. It is a great addition to our Burlington community. Go try them out. Support these small businesses, especially the ones as good as this one. :)

Great addition to the Burlington restaurant scene. Mixed Rice is a small strip-center restaurant with great tastes. I’ve been a couple times now and love the Chicken Bibimbap Bowl, egg roll and cucumber kimchi. This entrée was perfectly cooked, great flavors but not too spicy(a spicier version is available). Staff were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. Will definitely be back to try other dishes.

I ate here twice in two days with different friends, both of whom said, «I’ll be back» after the first bite. That makes three of us. The restaurant is unassuming, with a «dining room» about twice the size of a Dominoes Pizza. A half dozen, twosomes would pack the place, so consider take out. While the décor is lacking, the self described«old lady» who owns it and does the cooking was so sweet and adorable that I wanted to hug her… and nearly did. She made a great recommendation, bibimbap, that was mighty tasty. I am looking forward to trying a third dish. The Korean prepackaged, Choco Pie desert cookie(I.e., Moon Pie) that comes with every meal was laughably bad, but only added to the charm of the place and the experience. I recommend placing a take out order, then walking next door to FAO to buy a bottle vino that goes with Korean… and a Choco Pie.

I love Korean Food. Burlington has never had a Korean Restaurant in town before, so this restaurant gets 5 stars automatically for conveniently serving my favorite type of food. The lady who works there, named Susan, is very friendly. She knows me by name now because I order from here so frequently. I always order the beef bibimbap with the spicy sauce. This restaurant is very accomodating. If you can’t handle spicy foods, they will make a nonspicy version for you. A few times while I was waiting for my order, they served vegetable tempura to all the waiting customers, on the house. I also love the kimbap, but if you want to order it during lunch time you should call ahead, because it can take up to 30 minutes to make. During dinner they have prepared kimbap out by the cash register ready to go. Even if you have never tried Korean Food, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. My only complaint is that right now there are not very many items on their menu. I’m sure they will add more food options as this place becomes more popular.

I went there for lunch and got the Chicken Glass Noodle. Total was under $ 6 including an egg roll and desert, which consisted of a smaller version of a moon-pie. Food was great quality and good portion size. This is now on my list of best lunch spots in west Burlington.

I really like this place. The food is well-seasoned and well-cooked, the staff is extremely pleasant, and the extras like the dessert cookie are just crème on top. It’s small, clean, and one of the best places to get a decent meal for a decent price in Burlington. I’m trying to come up with a reason to take off a star, just because I tend to be careful about giving out 5’s, and I just can’t think of any. So, a 5 it is. I had the glass noodles with chicken while the wife had the chicken bibmibap. Both of us really enjoyed what we got, and we can’t say enough about how nice and helpful the counter girl and the cook both were to a couple of people who were kinda clueless walking in the door. There aren’t many seats, so it may be better for most folks as a take-out joint.

Mixed RIce is a small take-out place in the former WIng Zone spot. It has 3 – 4 tables to eat in though. This place specializes in bibimbap, aka mixed rice, and fried seafood. There is also a section with stir fries over rice. I went with the spicy chicken stir-fry($ 7.99) which was white meat and onions in a pretty hot Korean chili sauce topped with green onion slivers. I really liked it, as most ‘hot’ dishes are never hot enough for me. I also mixed in some of their house-made hot sauce which seemed to be a mix of brown plum sauce, chili paste and a bit of soy, again pretty hot and very tasty. The ratio of meat to rice was pretty fair for the price. The meal came with a very good egg roll that was very crisp, light and stuffed with cabbage that still has some bite to it instead of being mushy. A small side salad of lettuce, tomato, cuke and shaved carrot was included with their house-made ranch. I know, i don’t get it and neither did the person dining in last night who wanted something besides ranch, but it was a good version of ranch really. Dessert was even included in the form of a Choco-pie, which was a small version of what we Southerners call a Moon Pie. Basically thin, crumbly cookie filled with marshmallow and then the whole thing is covered in chocolate. For $ 8, getting egg roll, salad, entrée and dessert is pretty decent. Service was fast and the place seems to be run by an older husband and wife team. She was very polite, eager to help, explain dishes and was very proud of making everything down to the sauces in house. I would definitely prefer this to just about any Chinese take-out I’ve ever had.
