I go here on a weekly basis. They actually know my name and order by heart which is embarrassing. Great salsa. Chips could be crispier to meet my personal liking. ACP is always on point. Customer service is awesome!!! FAST FOOD! You order and its out to your table as fast as they can walk. Great place. Nice people. Good food. Okay pricing.

Got the chicken enchiladas. Very tasty. Came out very fast and piping hot. They were fresh and flavorful. Service was great even though it was crowded. We sat in the bar area. It’s a large square bar full of activity. They had plenty of drink specials. Good place. We’ll be back.

This is my favorite Mexican place ever! I’m so sad to be graduating and moving away. I came here accidentally freshman year and now I come here at least once a week during the semester. This is my go to place with numerous friends and we wouldn’t even think about going anywhere else. The staff is great and a lot of them know me by now. They are also super great either my allergies (peanuts, nuts, & shellfish).
Their chips and salsa are amazing and every time I come to this place I definitely go through at least two baskets (even if there are only two of us). The queso is also amazing. I cannot remember the last time I ordered queso here and didn’t finish it quickly. If you come here you have to get the queso. Also I’m new to guacamole but this place has good quac as well.
I also love their margaritas. I order the Texan margarita and it’s definitely worth the extra few dollars. I’ve come here just to drink margs and eat chips and queso.
This place is my go to at Elon and I’ll be sad to leave but I will always return to this restaurant for sure when I visit.

I have been to this restaurant on 2 different occasions at 2 different locations. On the first trip, the biggest thing i was unhappy with was the god awful Margarita I ordered. I literally took 2 sips out of the huge glass and couldn’t finish the rest. I did not get my money back because there were no refunds on alcohol. The ACP was okay but I’ve had much better. The salsa was terrible. On the second trip, we did get seated fairly quick but that was the only positive thing. We were originally just there for drinks but I decided to order some food. I ordered a half plate of ACP and never got it. Literally the entire time we were there i never received the food. The reason I didn’t reorder it was because I was already getting full from the chips and salsa, cheese dip, and guacamole. Again, I was very disappointed with the salsa, it tastes like a really spicy tomato sauce. No onions, no cilantro, no texture or anything, and it just did not taste fresh at all. Whatever recipe they are using is terrible. The guacamole also tasted pretty bad. Again, no onions or cilantro. It almost tasted old. The cheese was mediocre at best. I was also very disappointed with the pitcher of Margarita we shared. It was not that good. Also, someone at the table ordered wings and fries for everyone that were actually delicious. (How ironic that the best food I had at a mexican restaurant was french fries and wings) but they did not bring us any napkins until we were halfway done with the wings. At the end, at least I didn’t get charged for the ACP that I ordered. Honestly the only reason I went back the 2^nd time was because I was going to give it another shot to see if it was just the location I didn’t like. And I was invited by some people from school. Ultimately I will probably never go back to this restaurant. Very very disappointed.

Every time I have went there the food is so greasy and sloppy it’s pretty bad. It hasn’t always been like this and maybe it was a phase but I just haven’t wanted to go back.

The BEST La Cocina there is in my opinion and I’ve been to quite a few. I go there so often the people know what I order. They are fast, friendly, and the food is GREAT and they always give you your money’s worth.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Burlington and the surrounding area. I eat here once every 1 – 2 weeks for the past year. They have a very large menu with delicious options to include a vegetarian section. They also have a large selection of margaritas and beer.
La Cocina has been my go to for many reasons:
1. The salsa and chips that comes free when you sit down it excellent. It is spicy and fresh.
2.Margaritas are delicious! I like the frozen but my partner likes on the rocks and we are never dissatisfied. Only complaint is that the flavored margaritas (i.e. peach, strawberry) are very sweet. The margaritas are very strong so be careful! The «medium» is actually their extra large so be careful with the wording there.
3. The food is delicious. I love to get the ACC (shrimp with queso and rice). I order the half portion and it is a lot of food for $ 8.95. I can’t imagine who could eat a whole portion. I have also tried every one of the vegetarian options (A-​G) and I love them all.
4. The service is great. It always comes out really quick too, a big plus when you don’t want to waste time on your lunch break. The servers are all really nice (some need a little English help) and will get to know you by name if you got here enough.
Also of note, there is always a drink special. Wednesday night is $ 1 beer night with a cold mug of draft beer to include shock top. Pretty good deal.
The place is a typical Mexican joint. Nothing Special. It is HUGE inside if you are looking to accommodate a lot of people. They even have a private room that can be used for parties. There is a descent sized outdoor seating area for warm weather. I really like sitting outside and service is still excellent out there. There are also TVs that usually play european soccer. It is located in a strip mall and there is plenty of parking outside. If you haven’t been here in a while, they increased their prices again about a year ago. Still pretty cheap overall. The price does not deter me.

This place has great food, fast service, nice and professional staff members! I’ve never had to wait long and my food always comes out perfect!

Great food, great drink specials, and outstanding service! Chips are great and as usual free. The menu duplicates any mexican restraunt in america. 5 stars here.

The food is quick and tastes awesome.
It all starts with the guy who literally stands at the door with chips and salsa. As you sit on your table, the next moment that chips are with you. Also, the chips are very crispy and well made, when compared to other mexican restaurants.
This is my second visit in one week. Itself means that I liked the food here. And since am out of town, I wanted to taste it before I leave. I ordered Pollo Chipotle. The chicken was delicious and the chipotle sauce added the extra flavor. Being an onions fan, the food had enough onions to add that little sweetness in every bite.
The food was quick, and i was out in like 45 mins.
Overall, a very recommendable place for anyone who has a thing for mexican food.

Nothing ground breaking here, but solid Mexican-​American food. It’s located in a Mall, but don’t let that deter you. Despite a large crowd, seating was pretty swift. Chips and salsa came right away, and both tasted fresh and home-​made. I ordered the camarónes de diablo and the dish was satisfying and filling. Not too hot, but a bit spicy.
Wait staff was very efficient, excellent bar area if you want to come to just have some drinks and eat at the bar. A nice option for Mexican food in the town of Burlington.

Good drinking spot. Food can be hit or miss, but with the cheap prices I’ll take the few misses.

Food was good, slightly different than the Mebane location (still our favorite). The carne asada at the Mebane location comes with grilled green onions and a deep fried jalapeño, at the mall location it came with diced white onion and a pickled jalapeño.
Not a lot to complain about, the mall location is clearly set up for high volume.
Given a choice we will continue to go the Mebane location.

Love how it doesn’t even feel like you’re in the mall… nice food, decent service. They were busy the night I went and in my opinion, the waiter had too many tables to serve at a time. The margaritas are great!

Great service tonight. Everyone in our family has their favorites at La Cocina. We always start with the bean dip.

We don’t get to eat here as often as we would like to because the kids and the grand baby aren’t big fans of Mexican food, but there is nothing bad to say about this place. The portions are huge, the service has always been top notch, the quality of the food is as good as it gets.
One thing, we never go here or to any other restaurant when they are overly crowded. We showed up this morning at 1125, before the lunch and the after church rush, These guys serve an absolutely phenomenal number of covers, especially on the weekends, and I want no part of that. I wish that I could tell you that I can devote the same time and devotion to tickets when they are piled up, but I cannot, and I figure most others are the same.
We like to get there when everyone is fresh, starting the shift, not dealing with the mind blowing number of tickets, and ready to serve. We have always gotten fantastic food and even better service here,
When it’s Mexican food we are craving, this is the place to go, just go at the right time.

Came here for an impromptu Mother’s Day lunch (very fitting, I know.) because the place we originally wanted to go to was super packed and didn’t do reservations… and we were hungry!
La Cocina had NO wait time at all! The place is spacious and even though we were a somewhat-​large party of 8, there was no problem getting a table right when we walked in. The servers were very nice and got our drinks and salsa ready right away.
There were a couple salsas available, including a very hot one which the whole table was a fan of. Yummy! And the chips arrived to us very warm, which was great.
I ordered the carnitas verdes and I thought that this pork would be of the pulled variety, but it came out in big chunky cubes, covered in verde sauce. I’m not big on thick cuts of meat, and it was tough and not tasty. My mother got the shrimp diablo and that was pretty good, but that’s the only entrée out of 8 people that was above standard. They also offer the standard trillion Mexican lunch burrito/​quesadilla/​taco/​enchilada combos. Nothing special at all.
Did La Cocina fill me up on typical Mexican food? Yes. Would I come again? Doubt it.

So good. Service is hit and miss though. And the prices had gone up considerably!

So far, so good. Went for the first time today for lunch. My husband ordered the «Chori Pollo» which was DElicious. Seriously good chorizo, nice and juicy with that little bit of char-​grilled flavor… so tasty. I had the Yolandas chicken enchiladas. Pretty standard. Will return!

First off, I have never been inside a Mexican «Restaurant.» They are usually sticky shacks with minimal service. La Cocina is a real restaurant. The tables are wobbly but the service is quick. There is a bar with a TV and PLENTY of space.
To start, you get unlimited chips with salsa. They will give you cheese sauce upon request!
My girlfriend and I ordered the Chicken/​Shrimp/​Beef Fajita plate. For $ 12.50, you get enough food to feed 4 people. Just order an extra two set of tortillas (for $ 0.45) and it’s an incredibly balanced dish.
It’s not a super-​fancy place and it’s expensive compared to Chipotle, but it’s a nice place to bring your friends.
