We love the food! The downside is so does everyone else. You have to wait very long for your food. We have been told ½ hour and we have waited over an hour for our food.

I resided in sleepy central Burlington County, NJ for almost two decades. I discovered Kum Fong early on and dined there with regularity until relocating out of the area. This little gem has survived in a shopping plaza where many other businesses large and small have gone under. It was a pleasure to stop in there again this past Tuesday and introduce a friend to the restaurant.(I was pleased to see that a spanking new Shop Rite replaced the long gone K-Mart, and that new stores were starting to fill in the vacant storefronts.) The food at Kum Fong is not as exotic as restaurants in areas with a large Asian population, but it is food prepared with an inspired touch. The sauces are light, the ingredients fresh, and the ginger, garlic, and other spices pleasantly accent the dishes. The hot and sour soup is better than most, with shreds of pork, tree ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots and chunks of tofu — and not overly thickened with cornstarch. My favorite menu item is Pork with Scallions and Black Bean Sauce. Again, there is a light hand with the sauce, with flecks of preserved black beans and notes of garlic. I confess to ordering that dish often, but just as frequently, will ask the staff to bring whatever they recommend that day. Tired of so-so General Tso? The chef’s «Home Style Chicken» is a relative dish, but the chicken is lightly breaded, tender, and crispy — and not overwhelmed by the sauce. Black Pepper Beef is another favorite, as is Chicken and Eggplant with Garlic Sauce. The deep fried noodles that appear on the table with duck sauce and mustard are the best of their type. Big, wide, and fresh and crispy. I like to crumble a few pieces in my hot and sour soup. If you desire something special — such as hot chili oil — to add to soup or a dish. No problem. And the staff always remember what you like! I am such a fan of Kum Fong that we held our wedding rehearsal dinner here. Chef Rich and Coco, the hostess and chief server, make this a welcome, comfortable, and delicious dining experience!

I live near San Francisco, where there is fierce competition in Chinese restaurants and only the great survive. I have periodic business in South Jersey, and I always make it a point to eat at Kum Fong in Burlington at least once on each trip. Great food. Attentive service. This place could hold its own in San Francisco’s Chinatown. I always have the hot and sour soup regardless of what else I’m having; it’s always great. I have frequently told the server«bring me something interesting» and let them choose. It has always been delicious.

Wait time for take out is to long(waited 40 minutes for mediocre food) not enough staff to run this restaurant. Pass on this place, if you want great Chinese food take a ride to Sang Kee Noodle House in Cherryhill NJ. Best Chinese food hands down in this whole area.

My boyfriend and I found this place while it was hidden. We knew it as the ‘bomb Chinese place with no name’. So far, every dish has been good. The crab Rangoon are tiny, but flavorful! We also like that they have tablecloth napkins and the place is casual but nice. Just make sure to go with some time because the waitress doesn’t like taking your order before she brings out the Chinese dip and chips. We came in hungry one day knowing what we wanted and when she came to serve the water we told her what we wanted. She looked at us wide eyed and told us she would come back in a few minutes to get our order, so we needed to wait. I thought that was rude and honestly the dumbest thing I have herd seeing that I don’t think I should wait to order if the waitress is at our table, but we said okay. Other then that the food is delicious, the service is okay but overall its great.

One of the best Chinese places I have been to and certainly the top in Burlington County. I have been enjoying their food for over 25 years. Same consistently good food and service.

I didn’t hold much hope for this place when I saw it going up in the new shopping center. I was craving vegetable lo mein one day recently and decided to give this place a try. I was very pleasantly surprised!!! It has a very nice, clean sit down area for eating in. I saw noodles and duck sauce on the table while a few people were awaiting their entrées. The person at the front was very nice and efficient. The true test was trying out the food. Lo mein is usually pretty oily and not very flavorful. The lo mein here was very different. First, the noodles they used were not mushy but slightly firm and chewy. There were plenty of vegetables and it all tasted really good! I’m still surprised! Their lo mein is easily the best in this area and possibly the best I’ve ever had. I am looking forward to trying some more from them soon.

This place is the best Chinese in the area and it hasn’t changed one bit in 25 years. Have been coming here for take out, dine in, New Years dinners for ever and the food is always amazing, the same waitresses are quick and friendly and the exact same décor. This place never fails and is always a good choice.

I had to write an update just for the Crab Rangoon alone. OMG. They are like little clouds of heaven. I’ve never seen nor tasted any rangoon’s like this before. The best I have ever had. They are so delicate and light as air. Also, the dining room is much busier now but the service has not suffered in the least. We eat there once a week, and they know us there… I’m not sure why someone would stop eating there and give one star because they wouldn’t take a credit card over the phone? That seems a little unfair to me. I don’t expect special treatment just because I’m a big tipper.(and this is coming from a waitress of 15 years) just sayin’…

Have eaten here with my wife and friends many times. We used to enjoy it and they knew us by name. Just called like I have done many times before for take out. Since my wife was picking it up on the way home I asked to give her my credit card number over the phone. I will never eat here again. And I will recommend other good places. I was yelled at «no credit card» «not in 27 years». Funny thing is I did this two weeks ago and have a very nice tip. No more. Never again. To hell with this place.

I can be pretty picky about my Chinese good and I have to say this place is the BEST in the area. I haven’t been able to find good Chinese since moving from north jersey. Sesame chicken is delish as is the home style chicken. I’ve not had a bad dish yet.

Best Chinese food in this area! Closest place that is on the level of deliciousness of Kum Fong is in Chinatown in Philly… Recommend the Singapore Rice Noodles, or the Homestyle Chicken. Wonton Soup and Egg Roll are a must and the Crab Rangoons are an excellent starter.

This place is a definite diamond in the rough. It’s located in the old KMart shopping center. Cocoa is the waitress who is ALWAYS there and the service is outstanding. Above all, the food is amazing! I am hooked on the General Tso chicken and the hot and sour soup. You wouldn’t know it by the outside, but this place is fantastic.

I’ve grown up eating from this place. Now that I don’t live in Jersey anymore, it’s such a treat to come home and still receive great food. I traditionally get the Chicken & Broccoli lunch special, but when I have dived into other dishes, they’ve been delicious too. I love the waitress as well!

Kum Fong’s is that dying breed of Chinese restaurant with the little pot of tea & fried noodles with duck sauce. Where did they all go? Anyway, the food is average & I’ve never had any complaints. When I was a strict Weight Watcher they were always obliging to make my chicken & broccoli with the sauce on the side. The real positive here is the waitress; she has a cute name I can’t remember, but she’s so nice.
