My friend and I stopped here for lunch one summer afternoon and were very disappointed. We were served water with white specks, semi-warm potatoes, and slow service. We will not return.

I recently came to Grater Tater for lunch with my mom. I had heard a rumor their potato soup is fan-frickin’-TASTIC, and I was not disappointed. Holy crap, I’ve never been to a restaurant that is solely dedicated to potatoes. It’s a cute little restaurant, located just off the main ‘strip’ in Burlington, on Chestnut Street.(It’s actually across from where the DMV used to be located, if that helps any.) We were pleasantly welcomed when we went inside, and told to take a seat in the main dining area. My mom and myself ordered the potato soup, with all the fixin’s on top. The soup also came with a side of Irish Soda bread. Perfect. As an extra added bonus, it was Thirsty Thursday: all you can drink fountain drinks! The menu did look a little limited, but it hit the spot for the potato soup both myself and my mom were craving. The next time we have a lunch date I’m sure we’ll be going back. Total for two bowls of soup with bread and fountain drinks: about $ 12.00.(not including tip). C’mon, that’s awesome! Quality time with my mom: Priceless. Grater Tater is a cozy little restaurant with fast and friendly service. This was the perfect spot for my mom and I to hang out, have some really awesome soup, and chat.

Fantastic food! The meatloaf with onion gravy is to die for. Nice cozy restaurant just a little off the main drag(hwy 36) in downtown Burlington. The service is great and the prices are reasonable. Free wi-fi too!

Great little spot in sleepy Burlington, WI. the Banger and Mash are authentic and spot on. The potato bar is kinda cool and you can get very creative. Limited menu, but what they have is home cooked and very tasty. A nice little detour from Lake Geneva.

This is a wonderful, out of the way place. Owned by two Irish sisters who know their bangers and mash. They have a full potato bar with all the trimmings, and it’s all very good.

I visited the restaurant as part of a family outing. It was the first time any of us had been there, and we all enjoyed our meals. Great little potato bar! Reasonable prices. Love the potato rolls. Free WIFI
