Fremeau Jewelers

In the past, I have had nothing but good customer service at Fremeau’s however I have never had to ask them to handle an issue until now. I have purchased several Chamilia bracelets from them and many beads as well. The clasp on one of the bracelets became loose and with the weight of the beads, the bracelet has fallen off several times and luckily hasn’t been lost. I went back into Fremeau’s and was hoping they would make it right either by fixing it (which wasn’t ideal) or replacing it. Since it had been over six months, they would not replace it and said it could not be repaired either. I asked them to get in touch with their Chamilia representative for a resolution as well but to no avail. The bracelet isn’t worn that often and it was obvious that it was very well taken care of. They admitted they don’t typically have this problem with the bracelets but wouldn’t take care of the issue knowing it was most likely a defective product. I truly felt the customer service from both Chamilia and Fremeau’s was less than stellar and left the store feeling very disatisfied. In my opinion, I think a 6 month warrantee on something they expect you to slide hundreds of dollars worth of beads on is ridiculous. What I was asking for was reasonable especially since Chamilia will give the bracelets away for free during promotional events when you buy a certain number of beads. I would expect that Fremeau’s would want me and my family to continue to shop there for the Chamilia beads, etc, and it would have been a small effort on their part to make it right and to keep a customer if they had only stood behind their product.

I recommend Fremeau to EVERYONE and anyone with no question in my mind. Mike, the owner, is fantastic — friendly and talented to boot! My husband bought my ring at another jeweler (only because it was an estate piece that was a great «deal») but while initially looking at rings, Mike had made the suggestion that he could replace a head on a ring if it was not completely to our liking. We opted to do so after our engagement, albeit nervously because it is quite hard when you are not sure of the person’s work. We could NOT believe our eyes when we stopped by a few weeks later to retrieve the ring — it looked amazing! The ring went from being «nice» to being more than we could have dreamed for. I feel like I have a truly unique piece now. This is a great business and I have no doubt that service like this will see them around for many years to come!

There are quite a few fine jewelers in Burlington, as I recently discovered when the S.O. and I were looking at engagement rings (the choice had been outsourced to moi, which is OK). The first stop was an expressly vintage shop — — beautiful stuff, but the first stop, and nothing that really grabbed me. Same in the other Fancy Shops That Sparkle A Bit Too Much For My Astigmatism.
Fremeau is near my employer, near my preferred coffee vendor, near… pretty much everything.
Greeted as soon as we came in, there’s shiny, but there’s not blinding (whew). I looked through a few cases, and wasn’t too sure, until I saw something that resembled something I’d seen elsewhere, but slightly different. The young woman helping us out said, «…we can probably be able to do that!» and skipped off to inquire. A minute later, we were shaking hands with the gemologist who assured us that what I was thinking of was easy to do, the exact steps involved, and how it would look in the end (physically and cost-​wise).
We came back a few days later to select the center stone, and the ring was done well under the projected calendar. And it’s completely beautiful and unique! I took it back in a few days after that to get 2 gold beads welded to the inner band (less invasive than sizing something down) and then picked out a matching engagement band for mah mister!
Needless to say, customer sevrice here is OUTSTANDING (I say this as a former salesperson, child of salespeople to boot) and we were more than happy with our purchases. They remember our name, and Mike Archimbault took tremendous care of our blingy needs! Well-​priced, friendly, and solid. I recommend Fremeau VERY highly!
