Goat meat from food land is not worth the money we spend. Very bad experience for both times I purchased from them.

This is the latest edition to the little ethnic food mini mall in Burglinton alongside China Merchandise and Spiceland. It’s still one Chinese/Japanese grocery store(with a lot of Indian spices and food) and 3 Indian grocery stores, as well as other ethnic jewelry and clothing stores. The Indian Market sells halal meat and fish. They seem by far the most organized and have choices the other stores don’t have, e.g. Halal Gyros meat that is frozen, Haleem packet mix(instant and slow-cooked), and many more. Their hours seem to be 11am to 9pm on weekdays. I can’t remember their weekend hours. Overall, I like that they have food items the other stores don’t have and seem to have a good variety of choices — frozen and dried goods. It also feels cleaner too and well stocked to me.

A cool new Indian Market housed in the same plaza as China Merchandise and Spiceland. This plaza is turning into a little ethnic food marketplace. I stopped in today to check it out and it is very clean and well stocked. Not an overpowering pungent smell like one usually gets at these shops. This shop has more dry legumes, rice, sauces and pre-made /instant and frozen entrees than others I have seen in the area. I purchased some of those foil pouch«heat & serve» entrees. Only $ 1.19 each. Great for a quick lunch or dinner on the go. Also some cinnamon power(3.5 oz) to refill my spice bottle. $ 1.35. Since they are new, I did not see any fresh fish or meat. A few boxes of produce however. It is good that they are diversifying, as they need to complete with the other 2 bigger ethnic food shops next door.
