Complete Dental Care

Dr Kostas is amazing. I have been a patient of his for years. He has always provided me with the best dental care. But more then that he and his staff are so kind and caring. He even saw me on a Saturday night for an emergency visit. I recommend him all the time.

This is the business of Dr. James P. Kostas, DMD.

I had Dr. Kostas as my primary dentist from 2004 – 2008 or so. I switched to a more convenient dentist. So the information I’m giving may be a little dated.
He is the only dentist working in the office, although he does pretty much everything (restorations, crowns, fillings, bridges, etc.) — except for orthodontics. As of 2008, he was still sending crowns away to be made, but a majority of dentists in 2014 that I know still do this.
He has a small staff of dental hygienists and one or two people assisting with office assist work, and they were generally all very friendly. They do have payment programs (as opposed to requiring the full amount up front or at the time of completion of the work) but the payment terms i.e., interest rate, were pretty stiff (lower than credit cards but higher than getting a private loan).
Overall, he did pretty good work and was pretty responsive. I had about 12 fillings done (changed from the amalgam ones to the polymer/​ceramic/​resin ones) and these were at least 14 – 15 years old. I could definitely tell some of the amalgam ones were conducting heat /​cold. Overall, he was a touch pricy, but pretty fair. The dental cleanings also included periodic x-​rays and periodontal pocket checking.

I used to work for this place and honestly think that Dr. Kostas is good at what he does (somewhat) but he thinks more of money than the patient. I went to him to have a root canal done. He never went into any detail of the cost, just assumed that I would know because I worked there. After he put the cap on, he shaved the top tooth down because it did not fit right. I had to go spend more money to have that top tooth fixed that he had done damage to. Just working for him and being a patient with him, he seems more money hungry and does not keep the patient in mind. I have this other dentist and have been going to him for years and not once has he ever talked about money while I am sitting in the chair having work done. And when Christmas roles around, he will hound you until you pay the very last penny. Poor service in my opinion!
