I cannot wrap my head around dentist’s who try to convince me that needles in your gumline don’t hurt, and the extractions «should only be alittle pressure» all make me wanna puke honestly. If you want a compassionate, patient friendly dentist that you can AFFORD, go outside chittenden county. Every dentist ive seen in chittenden county are rampant rip-​off artists.

I have been using the CHC Dental office for a while now and today was the last straw. Long story short, this time I was denied service because I was stuck in traffic and arrived a few minutes late for my appointment. I apologized and offered to wait for the next available appointment, and although there wasn’t anyone waiting to be seen, Dr. Vallabhaneni refused to see me. REFUSED. I’m a PAYING customer and I was denied the appointment that I had scheduled months in advance because this jerk has a power trip. The staff even admitted that they got stuck in traffic too, but they were unable to do anything other than apologize.
Never in my life have I been DENIED ACCESS TO CARE because I was late arriving for my appointment. If I was half an hour late, I would totally understand. Also, If Dr. Vallabhaneni had been more professional about it (he never even showed his face and spoke through the front desk staff) and explained why he was unable to see me, I wouldn’t be posting this right now.
Being a doctor does not grant permission to treat your patients like lesser people.

This place is an absolute horror show. I regret making the decision to transfer here when moving back to Chittenden County In January. A large portion of the support staff from the nurses on down to the receptionists are rude and condescending. And the competency level of the same seems very lacking. I do not trust them at all to address my health care needs and I honestly think I might be better off seeing a witch doctor. Getting an appointment if you’re actually sick is an absolute chore. They ask that you come in and wait around to be seen by someone. I have to wonder if they think their patients have jobs and careers to attend to… as if one can just ditch work and hang out in their waiting room to get a «same day» appointment. If you’re 100% healthy and don’t actually need any medical care then I highly recommend this place. Otherwise, find a snake oil salesman instead of trusting something like your health to these clowns. You’ll thank me in the end.

Stay away if at all possible. I am very sick and because a doctor wrote untrue diagnosis in my chart I constantly get treated like a drug addict and mental case when I attempt to seek medical care. It is impossible to schedule a basic physical here. I have been suffering with headaches, head pressure and nausea for months but have not been able to get seen. Unfortunately because I have Mediciad I am finding it impossible to find a doctor who actually listens instead of judging. Lucky for me my eye doctor has scheduled and MRI. I opted to have it at Gifford in Randolph because if you are a CHC patient and you go to Fletcher Allen you are in for more judging. I was admitted in 2011 and they sent in students with a CHC doctor who grilled me for hours and blamed my stomach pain on my ADHD and tried to say I harmed myself. Save yourself and find other care. I am terrified I will die because they refuse to listen to me and I cannot find a new doctor.

Very difficult to schedule appointments. Especially for a physical.
No matter how far in advance one calls, or how strong a desire to see a doctor, be sure to be prepared to wait.
I have used this as my provider for two years now and am completely fed up.
I absolutely cannot get a physical scheduled for the date I like. Nor can I get any type of understanding from the terrible receptionists.
I truly despise this place. If you are dirt poor, it’ll be a fine spot for you, but if you have any type of money/​intelligence, it’ll be terribly frustrating to deal with this place and these people.
* As another reviewer said, they’ll not continue prescriptions from previous doctors. No matter what. They’re real jerks about this here. So you’ll have to turn to your mommies for your pills.

I went there for the first time so that is all I have to judge by. To be completely honest there were a few things that kind of threw me. First the intake staff needs to perk up get a personality and for a job that enables them to sit in comfort at least when they are working with a client they should have shoes on, period. That is unprofessional.
Secondly, the nurse who prepped me prior to the doctor coming in was very nice however they need to take it down a bit and not preclassify every woman that walks through the door. One of the first things she asked me was if I was «safe» at home. I didn’t catch on at first then I realized she must have been referring to was I being abused at home. It was not at all an inappropriate question but the timing certainly was since she had just met me 2 minutes before. I got home and went and looked at myself in the bathoom mirror because I couldn’t understand what it was about my appearance that would make her ask that.
Okay lastly and this was the thing I had an issue with. The doctor who was very nice by the way, informed me that the intial appt is basically just a «meet and greet» That being the case I’m assuming my insurance will not be billed and neither will I. nothing personal because I really liked the doctor but I don’t like anybody enough to pay a couple of hundred bucks just to meet them.

Had a wisdom tooth taken out there yesterday, because it was the only place that could get me in quickly (and by quickly I mean a week of agony). I told them when I went in that I cannot take Vicodin or Perocet (Sp?) because I get very sick, and asked if they could give me a script for Tylenol with Codine instead.
They yanked my tooth (an hour struggle!) and then said to take Advil. No meds! I am in agony now, and at work because I couldn’t afford to lose another day… and I have private insurance! I’m going to call them to see if they can get me anything, but I doubt it…

OK, I have to write a review based on other negatives here. I use this facility to have my dental work done and have been very happy! I do not have dental insurance, and the prices that charge are a lot less than the other dentists here. The work they do is just as good. I had my teeth cleaned and the hygenist did a great job. The rooms are all very clean. But, the best part, another dentist told me i needed a crown ($ 1,500) and at the community center, the dentist said I could have the tooth re-​filled, ($ 150) which he did and I am perfectly fine now without the crown!

I have never had anything but positive experiences at CHCB. I’ve been seeing Dr. Audrey Wen here for several years, and have found staff to be consistently kind, knowledgable, and helpful.

After reading several poor reviews of this place, I was a little scared to go here, but at the time I had no other option. I’d been suffering some pretty horrid GI symptoms since last summer, and I needed to do something about it.
It’s a pretty confusing layout, from parking to figuring out where you need to go to check in. The reception staff always seems miserable and completely uninterested in what they are doing. I get the feeling they’d rather be at home watching soaps and eating ice cream out of the tub.
The best part of the establishment is the nursing staff — I’ve dealt with 3 or 4 different nurses throughout my visits, and they were ALWAYS very nice and pleasant. They made sure I was comfortable and kept me informed. My doctor, Dr. Wen, is also very nice and pretty knowledgeable.
However, after several visits and the same advice — drink lots of water, exercise, eat plenty of fiber, get plenty of sleep, take laxatives like Miralax [all of which are things I’ve been doing for years, minus the laxatives, which I told her when describing my problem and lifestyle; btw, all the directions for all laxatives say DO NOT USE for more than 2 weeks and contact your doctor immediately, as it could be a sign of a serious problem…]- I became frustrated and called for a referral to a GI specialist. That was three weeks ago. I called today to get an update on my referral, and the man who answered the phone said there was no record of said referral in my files, and proceeded to forward me to the «referral department.» Needless to say, it went to voicemail. I left a message essentially begging them to return my call because this condition makes it hard to function normally on a day-​to-​day basis.
Fingers crossed that they call back today. But I have a feeling I won’t hear from them again. I highly suggest avoiding this place if you can.

Do not return calls in business office. Phones go to voicemail and forwarding to the option of cell phone all come back with not operational. Very poor customer service. Any other business would fire employees for not returning customers calls. Avoid if you can!

Very poor service. My fiancé needs medication for attention deficit, and the doctors here practice a great deal of moralizing rather than actual treatment. Expect to be under the scrutiny of their morals, and any prescription and/​or treatment will be subject to their standard of ethic and not science. I thought only right wingers blocked approved, medical treatments.
My fiancé has had this prescription for over 4 years, and now after moving here from out of state, the doctors at this clinic will not continue the same medicine simply because they’re morally opposed to Adderall. Instead they have had him on a cocktail for the last few months trying to find a replacement that suites their conscience. From what I understand about medicine, just randomly trying new drugs is a bad thing, especially when a known quantity that is successful exists.
On top of this, they do not allow refills in a timely manner. Today his prescription came, but they won’t let it be filled for 5 more days! In the meantime the stability of our life and his employment are seriously threatened. If you want professional service, you will not get it here.
