Okay, let me start this off with the statement that I work in a food desert. There is nothing on Airport Boulevard. BUT! Several of the package couriers that visit our building eat here on a regular basis. They have their pick of anywhere along their route in Burlingame and they choose to go here. I heard about YAY café from them and I knew there had to be something special. I feel so grateful that this café is just across the street. All of their food is made super fresh. Seriously, I’ve seen them take out an onion and start cutting it for my breakfast burrito. I would highly recommend their breakfast burritos and soba salad but any of the specials I have tried have been fabulous!(Polenta with sausage, tomato sauce and grilled kale, HELLO!) The only thing keeping this place from a 5 star is that they can be very slow. Though honestly, it’s because they take a lot of care in what they’re doing. Definitely order ahead if you can and don’t be in a rush.

Fabulous! Great little café on the inside of an office building. You wouldnt even know it existed if you didnt work in the building or have Unilocal.Very friendly staff. I had the turkey and avocado, it was great. They have a good beverage and chip selection as well as hot foods other than sandwiches. I might be back for a breakfast sandwich before I leave here.

I normally don’t get into work that early to grab breakfast from here. And even if I do, I usually forget to eat anything until lunch. But I finally had an opportunity to try out one of their breakfast items today. The breakfast burrito. Potato, egg, cheese, caramelized onions, salsa, spinach, and your choice of breakfast meat(I got sausage). $ 6 as of this review. Dude. You must try it. It is 5 star worthy.

In between Silicon Valley and Downtown SF I was starving so I pulled into this tiny lunch spot for a quick sandwich. I got the roast beef which came hot and juicy. The house dressing on the sandwich had so much flavor. Friendly staff and quick service!

They serve hot magic on the cheap. Craving a breakfast sandwich or burrito? $ 3.75 and $ 5.50, respectively. Back to that sandwich, think toasted English muffin enveloping freshly grilled sausage and melted cheese. Greasy comfort food perfect for that rough Monday morning. Yay café also has daily specials(posted on their Facebook page), and a regular assortment of sandwiches, salads, etc. The people who run this joint are awesome! They’re committed to good quality service and have a great sense of humor. In the ice that frosts above the salad\dessert bar, they write a pithy phrase, fondly referred to as «The Daily Icebreaker.» Sometimes when it gets busy the food takes a minute to finish. But don’t you fret, this is a mom&pop shop that’s worth the wait.

This place has turned over ownership once again and I’m happy with their offerings! I’ve tried some sandwiches, specials, and their mango pudding(soo good!) — as such, the quality varies between 3.5 and 4. It’s also really nice that the weekly specials menu is available on their Facebook page.

When I was a much younger man, I worked in a lot of business parks and ate at a lot of business park cafes. Most of them were seriously terrible, overpriced, and not the cleanest of places, but they flourished due to their captive audiences. When I moved on from that world, I no longer ate at those sorts of places and had no real desire to ever step foot in one again. Today I met a friend for lunch and he suggested a café near to where he worked. Little did I know it was going to be a business park café. My stomach lurched… Luckily, this story has a happy ending! The place was your typical BPC: small, stuffy, a rack of potato chips, a menu of sandwiches, a couple of specials, and a bunch of people in business suits. I was going to order the daily special crispy tacos, but I’m watching my diet and ordered a turkey & avocado sandwich on sliced sourdough instead. The sandwich was lightly toasted and had fresh tomatoes, onion, a decent amount of avocado, some good turkey, and a tasty homemade mayo. Overall I was really satisfied! The people behind the counter are super friendly and attentive and the service is quick. The prices on the sandwiches aren’t cheap, but the food tastes good and everything is fresh. SO, three stars for the food and an extra star for the good service!

I eat here every so often. Usually when im too lazy to pack lunch and too lazy to drive somewhere to get food. This is walking distance from my lab. It is located inside of an office building. I like the fact that there is changing daily specials here. These can be found on their facbeook page. They post up their daily specials at the beginning of the week so it is easy to find out which day would be a good day to go. So far, everything ive tried here has been good. The thing i like the most about YAY is the fact that there is no one type of cuisine here. They have everything from curry to adobo to tacos. Their cooks have a wide range of dishes and thats why i keep coming back.

I’ve had both the fish tacos and pork loin and rice lunch plate. They were both very good. The fish was fresh and the salsa was a perfect complement. I wish they would sell it by the bottle. The pork loin was very flavorful. This lunch plate included three huge pieces of pork, Rice and broccoli. It was a lot of food and a great value for the money. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.
