If you have time to kill, this is the food truck for you. I waited over 45 minutes for my food, which doesn’t include the 30 minutes I get when I go to lunch. I just think they need one more person to help out, to make it go by faster. I ordered the beef short ribs, which comes with salad and potato salad. I must say the salad is really good since it comes with red onions, thinly sliced cucumbers, and a cherry tomato. The potato salad was really good too, just wish I had a little more since they put a small scoop. I think it was all delicious because I built up an appetite from that long wait. The price was reasonable as well, it was 9.95 plus tax which came out to $ 10.85. It was worth the money, but it just took a long time to get my food :/

this is a letter i just wrote them — i forgot to include the fact that they are over priced. with tax, my food came to be $ 14 for a beef bento box. In the future, I wouldn’t have paid more than $ 8 – 10. Hi there, I just wanted to let you know that today I was so excited to see your menu/truck at Off the Grid today. I studied your website thoroughly and let my hunger decide what I’d be picking out once I got to the truck! After walking 3 long blocks to get there(specifically for your food), I was disappointed to learn that your online menu did not reflect what you actually served…(no sushi or sides). I still thought I’d give your food a go, and sadly — I was far from impressed. With no line in front of me, I ordered the beef bento box thinking I couldn’t go wrong with that. Annoyingly I had to wait nearly 10 minutes for my food and thought what a mess it would have been if there were actually a line in front of me. When I received my food I specifically asked to ensure that there was plasticware inside. She assured me yes. After walking 4 blocks to the park and settling in, then did i discover that her terms of ‘plasticware’ was a fork. One fork. Please imagine the trouble that caused me trying to cut beef and the ability to enjoy miso soup… Speaking of the beef — it would have gotten a decent review had it not been 50% pure fat. And again, imagine trying to eat extremely fatty pieces of steak with only a fork. Not once was I able to enjoy both rice and the meat on my fork at once. That being said — I had gone there in consideration of hiring you for our company event, but now I will have to continue my search. I’m guessing you’re a very young company, but there are definitely a lot of kinks you need to work if you’re going to be going up against trucks of high standard at the next Off the Grid event. I am only sending you this to help you, not to put you down. I feel that if I gave you a chance down the line — perhaps things will have ironed out by then? Fingers crossed.

Decent Japanese food. I had chicken teriyaki donburi when they were at off the grid at 5th and Minna. The food was decent, but the service was pretty slow.
