Law Offices of John Iaccarino

I retained Mr. Iaccarino and Mr. Church in September 2010 in a civil litigation matter venued in Alameda County. The matter involved a breach of contract.
Of note is that I am a litigation secretary with over 10 years’ experience working in large, mid and small law firms, some of which are prestigious with over 100 years experience. I was employed for 12 years at Orrick and worked for MoFo as a temp from 2010 through 2011.
What I thought to be a slam dunk was not. The matter was contentious and very personal. I was the plaintiff and my immediate family members (five) were defendants. The matter involved a signed notarized real estate agreement executed by me and my family members. After the fact it became clear that the agreement, drafted by my mother who was also a legal secretary, should have been drawn up by an attorney or at the very least, reviewed by an attorney. Had that been the case, I would have settled for two to three times more. While she did her best she could not foresee that her family would be at odds with one another. Tragically, she passed away a week after being diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer.
I have a huge amount of respect for both Mr. Iaccarino and Mr. Church. They are both well versed in the law. I consider both men to have high moral standards. Neither will sugar coat things and be anything less than honest with you as their client. As a legal secretary I place a lot of emphasis on that. They were working with a document that was flawed. However, most challenging was opposing counsel who will remain unnamed. What I will say is I am glad she did not represent me. In my opinion her tactics crossed the line of ethics. For example, over a year after my complaint was filed, opposing counsel (hereafter OPC) had yet to file a response on behalf of defendants. Instead, she filed one demurrer after the next for a total of three demurrers. Nor had one piece of discovery been exchanged over a year after the filing of my complaint. Despite the judge ruling that we could amend my complaint and OPC not opposing the Judge’s ruling, on one occasion, she waited until my attorney reached his Burlingame office only to notify him that she had changed her mind thus requiring him to drive to Hayward Superior for the SECOND TIME that day. Her office was in Hayward and ]within minutes of the Hayward courthouse. Ultimately she knew I would pay for this. I sincerely believe she hoped I would just give up due to my mounting attorneys’ fees. On the matter of attorneys’ fees neither Mr. Iaccarino nor Mr. Church once asked me for money. They knew that when my case settled they would be paid in full. With my place in foreclosure, it was one less thing to worry about and for that I am grateful.
Throughout the 1.5 years my case was in litigation, any questions I had were always promptly responded to. As a client I think it vitally important that you feel you are getting the best representation possible AND that your feel as if your attorney (s) are representing YOU. I have seen things during my career where I would take repeated messages from clients trying to reach their attorney. In a handful of instances I recall thinking, if I was a client, I would never want to be placed in the position of wondering do I trust my attorney, is he/​she looking out for my best interest and/​or do they represent me or are they doing it for the money.
Not only will Mr. Iaccarino and Mr. Church provide you with the best legal representation, they will do so at reasonable rate (s). They will never talk down to you but explain things to you in a way you understand.
It is my hope that I never have to seek legal representation in the future, but if I do, I would not hesitate to retain the Law Office of John Iaccarino.
