Make your reservations so you can be seated right away, which we we’re right when we came. valet is required when you come. wasn’t a problem with us since we we’re running a little late saved us time. Everything was great except. this was our first time, brought my mom here for her birthday, but do you always have to wait for an hour for your main meal to be cooked? Not enough cooks? That was just the only problem for me but other than that it was great that they start us off with soup with MUSHROOMS! My fave and a salad. WHEN the chef finally came it was very exciting. It was entertaining to his introduction, cracking the egg, the the heart beating fried rice and my fav the volcano where they light the onion on fire. Food was great and fried rice was to die for. Expensive but it was worth it.

MYFIRSTTIMEHERE, INANYBENIHANAINGENERAL. VERYDISAPPOINTED. Our chef who I don’t know the name because he didn’t even really talk to us. Only spoke to the Hispanic customers. He also gave all the extras to them. Didn’t put on much show unlike the other chef. I wanted to complain but there was no one in the front since they were closing. WASTEDMYMONEY

This place has really gone downhill. I live in the area and had not been here for years. We went to go find a seat at the bar and found 2 seats but both had glasses and it was all wet. I expected at least one of the 3 bartenders would clean the bar in front of us. I was wrong. We ordered one of those fishbowl drinks from a bartender and she still didn’t clean the mess. She simply moved the mess out of the way when she brought the drinks. The bar continued to be dirty for the entire time we were there and we were the only ones at the bar! They were not busy. On top of that, the vibe is totally weird here. The workers were yelling at each other from across the bar area and I felt like I couldn’t even enjoy my drink or my conversation(although I’m pretty sure the drink was no booze and all juice). Anyways, in sum, this place is just not good anymore. The person I was with also ordered a roll and he said the crab tasted frozen. It looks like it needs a remodel and the employees need to be re-trained. I won’t be returning.

To start off, parking here was interesting. You’re required to valet your car, which can be a problem for some people. Walking in with no reservation, we kindly asked the lady for a table for 2. 5 – 10 minutes later, we got seated with no problem which was awesome. However, our chef seemed to interact with the other party more than us. Halfway through our meal, the chef said his first words to me. The food was OK, the portions were very small. All in all, I was disappointed with the chef we got paired with. He paid little attention to us.

Valet parking only Expect a wait of you don’t have a reservation Great prices during lunch hours! This is a busy location. It is so beautiful right on the water. Great place to bring family. I hear you can get lessons here and develop some teppanyaki chef skills! Benihana never disappoints me. New discovery, Benihana garlic butter! take extra on everything. And smother even more on my rice. Had to be my absolute highlight!

This Benihana gives a different vibe compared to the one at Japantown in SF. It’s smaller and the ceiling is lower. The quality of the food stays relatively the same which is a really good thing. lol. Parking here is strange. Like you have to valet or you park your car on the street and walk into the area. Heh.

Food was so-so, but our chef«Carlos» made the experience totally worth coming to Benihana’s! I would rate the food as a 3 star and rate the chef 4 stars, but overall, I have to give 3 stars, since the food was mediocre. Third time coming to this particular location and the experience was definitely improved, because the chef«Carlos» was hilarious! Come for the entertainment, don’t expect too much with the food.

Food was good But tell your ladies to keep an eye on their purse. We left one behind, and called soon after to check, they confirmed they had it, but later– it mysteriously disappeared… Employee theft is what we suspect.

Me and you gonna have ourselves A holiday And we don’t need nobody else To celebrate at… BENIHANA! — Mariah Carey(when Christmas comes) It’s just not the same anymore. but it’s what you would expect when it’s been around for so long. Obviously, it’s almost impossible for it to be as appealing as it was when you were young but still seems like it’s fallen off incrementally. The novelty has worn off and it’s time to move on my friends. From my recent experience, the drinks were made quite sloppily; the food was seasoned VERY liberally with butter and salt, and the way they have chef’s work back to back next to each other make it seem like they only care about the bottom line — fill up the seats and hope for the best while quality suffers! You would think I’m quite negative from this review but I’m in a very cheerful mood coming back from the Thanksgiving holidays and that’s not enough to be any more positive. Positive: the fried rice is still as good as remembered :)

My fiancé had a hankering to go here for nostalgia purposes so he wrangled a bunch of us together to go. In our group it was the first time for two of us(I would be one of those people) so we didn’t know what to expect. My fiancé studied the menu and was prepared… So it you haven’t been to a joint like this, then remember that you’re going for the show of it. The food leaves a bit to be desired, but hell, with an onion volcano and a beating heart shaped out of rice, does it really matter? :) Our chef was great — even though he missed some of the tricks, it sort of added to the fun of it. We got a show and our grub on – overall, not too bad. They’ve got attentive service which is always plus so voerall, a solid experience.

A bit tucked away in my opinion. I was surprised to know that valet parking was the only option — fancy. I think for a Saturday night they needed more than 1 person working the valet… Reservations are needed so make sure to plan ahead like my group did. The front desk could use a little more practice in taking down names. They either spelled my friend’s last name wrong or didn’t even include it because she kept insisting there was no such name and finally gave us her first name — to which we said yes, that’s our reservation… We had a 9:15pm reservation, but didn’t actually get seated until 9:30pm. Tables have 8 seats and my party was only 5, so we shared it with another couple. Waitress came by to take our drink order. I saw that they had an alcoholic beverage served in a bowl(Red Flower or Blue Ocean) and felt obligated to order it! Good thing my SO agreed to share it with me because it was as huge as our heads! It definitely got me drunk quick: P After bringing our drinks, the waitress took our order. I decided on the Land N Sea, which was filet mignon and scallops. It came with: — Mushroom onion soup(okay) — Salad(gross) — Fried rice(upgraded to chicken and it was one of the highlights of the meal) — Shrimp(wish the portion was bigger) — Ice cream(your choice of green tea, vanilla, or rainbow sherbet). — Hot tea Filet mignon was delicious and cooked to my liking(although I wish I had A1 sauce because I wasn’t a fan of the sauces they provided). The scallops were my favorite; big, juicy, and so sweet! My favorite is how they cooked everything in garlic butter. I. LOVE. GARLIC. BUTTER. Our chef performed tricks including: bouncing egg, beating heart fried rice, flipping shrimp tails, and flaming volcano. He didn’t seem too enthusiastic, but it was understandable. It was late and he was probably tired. For my first time though, I was hoping for a little more dazzle and excitement. I just wasn’t very astonished. Maybe everyone just hyped it up a little too much for me.

Usually I would give this place all 5 stars. I’m a frequent visitor at this Location, now when I say frequent it’s safe to say I eat here once a week. Today however, when I came to eat here for the dinner hour I ordered the 5 course hibachi chicken. Within that five course meal there is a SHRIMP appetizer. . I am highly allergic to seafood to the point that I have to carry my EpiPen w| me wherever I go. I showed my EpiPen to the waitress and explained my condition, she refused to substitute the shrimp. I asked to speak to the manager(MyLene) who after explaining AGAIN the severity behind my seafood condition she also refused to substitute the shrimp. Now as a manager you would think that upholding the highest reputation for the business is always a priority. It’s very disappointing to me the way manager handled the situation, extremely dissatisfied MyLene.

If i could give this place 0 stars I would. I had reservations at 9pm, we got there 20 mins early, checked in and waited. We are still waiting 40 mins later. 2 big parties came in after I did and they got seated before me. Whats the point of open table if we we have to wait longer. The three hosts were slapping each other, yelling and one another instead of letting ppl in the waiting room know that the wait will be longer. The birthday boy and I were finally able to be seated after 40 Minutes. Our table was dirty, the floor was covered in food, dirty napkins and my plate had junk stuck on it. The other men who were sitting at our table felt the same way, as were were talking about how dirty everything looked. We had to bring it up to our waiter how dirty our seating was. Food was okay, our chef rushed through cooking everything and barely interacted as he was just trying to cook and get out of there. There was not much flavor in our food. My tab came out to $ 72.32 in total, because of the poor service that we’ve received since we had arrived I only left a $ 2.00 Tip. When I checked my bank account, Benihana’s charged me $ 20.00 extra out of nowhere, bringing my bill to $ 92.32. I’m sorry, how do you give yourself a $ 20.00 tip when the service sucked and my total stated $ 74.32. i PURPOSELY left $ 2.00 because how such overall bad service. This place was lucky I even left any tip. The quality and service of this Restaurant has definitely gone down over the years. It’s rather unfortunate because I use to love going there. Overall, terrible service! **update called the restaurant this this am 11÷4÷15, and they refunded me back my money. I still recommend to always check your banks accounts for any overcharge.

I don’t typically write reviews but this place is so bad that I would like to Food: sushi rice wasn’t cooked right. It’s so hard and doesn’t stick together. Tastes like it just came out out of refrigerator Service: they gave us wrong sushi 3 times. It also took half an hour to get my roll because they needed to cook rice Restaurant– the floor was littered with food and chop sticks where I sat. It was gross… All the places were closed around the neighborhood so we stayed and ate. If I could give 0 star, I would

Ordered 3 lunch boats and 2 express lunch entrees. Got the 2 express lunch entrees right but messed up the 3 lunch boats. Had to go back in order to change clarify why the orders were messed up. Repeated the orders on the phone and still messed up. Tell me. Is there another way to order without messing it up? 2 stars beacuse at least they were prompt in preparing the missing items in our order. But we would definitely not order here again for lunch.

I’m unbelievably pissed off right now. We had a reservation for 9pm. Our table was seated at 8:55pm. Our table ordered drinks. The drinks did not come. The salad or soup did not come. 45 minutes later the manager came and apologized and said we would be compensated. Then another server took our order. After another 10 minutes some of the drinks came and some of the drink orders were forgotten and some were wrong. The sodas were flat and our sake order was wrong. It took them 3 times to finally get our correct sake. Luckily chef Ramiro was good. He cooked a flawless meal for us. The fried rice was griddled and he was very generous with garlic butter. He made all of us at the table less pissed off. When we finally received our checks it was ten past 11. A lot of us have work the next day and was not expecting to be out so late. It was also a cute little kids birthday and he was out later than expected. Plus the manager who promised compensation left and did not inform the other workers what he promised us. This was the worst customer service ever received at Benihana. In all my years being a Unilocaler I’ve never received such bad service. Normally I just check in and take pictures on Unilocal. But today I felt the need to write about this horrid experience. First Unilocal review ever. If I were just to rate the food it would be four stars. But customer service makes or breaks restaurants. I wonder when the next time I’ll be back will be if ever.

I’ve been to a few Benihana’s in my lifetime and I think its a great restaurant to go to if you’ve never been. The chefs cook your food in front of you and make it a cute little show. My little brother loves coming here so we’ve been coming to Benihana almost every birthday. lol The food is actually pretty good. I usually order the filet mignon w/lobster tail and its pretty good. It’s never overcooked and comes with fried rice! I think this place is a one time deal. Come here for the experience but I definitely woudnt rave about coming back

Almost everyone has been to Benihana but let’s pretend you haven’t for the sake of this review and for those rare few reading who haven’t. In my mind Benihana excells at one thing. An exciting, memorable Birthday dinner. My daughters beg to have their birthday dinner here year after year because it truly is so much fun. I skip years but when we come, they love every minute of it. Even if you aren’t in a festive mood — you can have a fun fruity cocktail while your food cooks and voila! You are the friendliest one in the group. The experience itself makes it memorable. Everyone laughing and smiling. I really love that. This time we actually had an Asian chef. That is a first in my 25 years of going to various Benihiana restaurants. The fried rice was still good, the volcano was cool and the heart beating was still so much funny. We enjoyed a lovely view, wonderfully attentive servers, a great chef with personality and flair. Complementary Valet parking and a complementary group photo closed my older daughter’s birthday dinner. I love you Benihana. I think a lot of other people do too :)

Chain restaurants are always tricky reviews as the point is to be consistent from location to location. So I’m either looking for flaws or finding highlights. This Benihana has a highlight and it comes in the form of the only Asian tepenyaki chef in the bulding(as he claims it lol) Brian. He was by far the most charismatic chef I’d ever run across in my many Benihana experiences. He got a solid read on our table right out the gate and found every nuance to make us laugh and smile all night. At one point we looked out in to the rest of the restaurant and reveled in the fact that no one was having more fun than our table. We did not all know each other at our table but with Brian’s help we all left feeling like old friends. If you can at all request a chef here Brian is the man. I guarantee it. As far as everything else it has everything you’d want in a Benihana. The lounge is a nice bonus as it has amazing views of the water. Looking for a place to send your teenagers on their first date or add a little spark to your second date this is a great spot. The required valet parking though it can be free is a little annoying as it can get backed up at times. The other servers we experienced were efficient but acted as mere pawns in our evening. Overall it was one of the best times I’ve had at a Benihana and another reason why I regard it to be the best chain restaurant in the US. Hard to screw up a great formula unless one day they flip a knife into my eye.
