Charley’s Grilled Subs

I’m never eating at this or any other Charley’s location again. They only had one employee on duty and a manager who did nothing but stand there during the lunch rush. My chicken cheese-​steak barely had any chicken in it. The fries were bland. Even ignoring the taste (or lack thereof), the food is overpriced for what you get ($ 8 for a small drink, small fry and small sandwich) and to top it all off I got food poisoning.

This is by far the best sandwich shop i have ever been to, everyone was nice and clean the managers were amazing. I we’ll definitely come back FOR SURE!!!

Staff is not friendly or helpful but food is great. I have eaten here in the past and everything was wonderful.

Taste was good. Not enough meat on the sandwich. Instead of a turkey sandwich it was more like a lettuce sandwich. 17 bucks for 2 of us to eat a sub is not good for what we got.
Won’t go back.

Pedestrian cheesesteaks. What tastes like frozen fries. The staff has a language barrier.
It’s better than the average Subway. but you also pay for it. Excellent selection of lemonades and fresh iced tea with fresh lemons sliced are what saves this place.

rude manager reported him to corp– his employees overcharged refused to give me a refund and over charged the next person after me and started laughing, Still no refund only sick after the horrible food that was cold employee said he’s lazy and wouldn’t stop talking about his truck I want my refund — it’s bs you over charged me you know you did and you won’t fix it — they said they had my receipt since they are not trained to give a refund which is bs per corporate that is not their policy to not be trained. I sure was not coming back after being sick from the good and horrible service I received — I just wanted my 20 $ back and the store owner/​manger called me a liar kept placing me on hold and I still don’t have my money wtf do you have to do to not get overcharged and get a refund its ridiculous. Who do you go to when the owner is as useless as the employed working there

The food was fine. 17 dollars for one combo and two sandwiches was really overpriced, but it was an okay meal. I did take major issue with the cashier, who seemed to be the manager. He was very pushy about getting us to order immediately no matter what we said, and didn’t actually let us read the menu between the four «are you ready yet?» questions. I know service shouldn’t dictate the quality of a restaurant, but I was in a seriously bad mood after having to deal with this guy multiple times, paying almost 20 bucks for a light lunch, and then hoping the food would make up for it (it didn’t). Spend a few extra dollars and go to a sit-​down place instead (or save a few and go to fast food — you’ll get the same quality).

Food is average. What made me mad was the TV was on a spanish channel. When I asked them to change it (for the non hispanics in there which was all of us) I was told the manager likes this channel. Last I checked the TV’s are for customers NOT STAFF! Will not be returning, EVER! This is Burleson, Texas not Juarez, Mexico. You should cater to your customers not your manager!

Friendly polite service and excellent subs made fresh in front of you. This location is a great clean place to relax and eat lunch unlike it’s counterparts usually found in mall food courts.

I love this place! They make everything fresh, the lettuce is always crispy and the fries are amazing. Not to mention that you get a lot for the price. My husband and I love this place. We will be back many, many times!

Grilled Deli Sandwiches — 4 Stars
Now here’s something a little different, Grilled Deli sandwiches. Their website says there’s 370 of these places, mostly up north, because its basically a Philly Steak Place, and they must have thought, «Hey, we got this big ol’ griddle here, what else can we put on it?»
The answer seems to be, let’s grill chicken and deli meats and serve them on toasted buns. That’s what Charley’s offers. Me and the family stopped here right off I-​35, on our way south to Austin. We were playing the game, «Let’s eat somewhere we’ve never eaten before». Charley got selected.
We were all fond of our sandwich choices, because the grilling brought out different flavors to the chicken, and turkey and other stuff. The chicken isn’t your usual cut up breast, but thin sliced and grilled hot on the flat griddle. After they dump the meat onto the toasted buns, you can call your toppings like at Subway. Good plan.
However…
The «Gourmet Fries» were not gourmet or even good. Their cheddar bacon fries were almost inedible. Covered with the kind of ball-​park nacho cheddar which we’ve always found to be disgusting, they had bacon bits piled on top. Not fresh bacon (they have griddles, you know). The regular fries we tried were somewhat tasteless.
So, try their great grilled sandwiches and get you fries somewhere else. At least that’s our opinion, and we’re sticking to it!
