We came here after originally going to another restaurant a few blocks away but when we got there I had a bad vibe so we left. Glad we did because the food here was good. First of all there was only one other table of people in the restaurant and I thought they were customers but it turns out it was the cook and a friend. We were the only ones there. The young man who waited the table was polite and did check on us once during our meal to make sure everything was okay and if we needed anything else. We started off with an order of the fresh rolls. I have a thing about my fresh rolls having done kind of herb in them for flavor and no bean sprouts. This place did both of those things so that made me happy. The dipping sauce was very good and reminded me of the sauce I like from another restaurant. We ordered the phở ga and stir fried egg noodles with chicken. I had to ask for a bit more basil with my phở. The phở broth was good and you could taste the star anise in it. The egg noodles appeared to be a strange color to me but Scott said they tasted great. Overall a very pleasant experience. The one thing was that the music they were playing seemed a bit strange for a Vietnamese restaurant but it added to the experience. thank you for a pleasant meal and good service.

Went earlier this week and the phở was absolutely delicious! Very quiet inside and service was quick! However, I wanted to grab some today between shifts and they were gone. The sign said«Closed back @ 3:30» …it was 4. Disappointing :(

Best phở ever, super clean & the owner is so nice! I never like to go anywhere else for phở because I am obsessed with the phở and tofu spring rolls at Phở La Vang. Only downside is sometimes I get there and they’re closed even though they say they’re open.

Got some takeout here the other day after passing by this place several times. Usually when I try a new Vietnamese restaurant I try their phở’, but this time I decided to get a BBQ pork banh mi because the pictures looked so yummy. At $ 4.25, it seemed like a great deal to boot. We ended up ordering some fried rice as well. The fried rice was good – nothing to write home about, but decent. The banh mi was great. The pork had a slight sweetness to it, which was complimented by the carrot. Onions provided additional crunch and a little spiciness, while the cilantro added a lovely freshness to the sandwich. The bread was perfectly crusty on the outside, and very soft on the inside. The portion was generous: the sandwich was packed with meat(not overly bready like others I’ve had). My only complaint was the saltiness; I think with a little less salt this would be an even better sandwich. For the price, however, I was satisfied. Next time we’re in the neighborhood and looking for a quick meal, I’ll keep Phở La Vang in mind! I’d love to give the phở’ a try(and will update my review accordingly if I do)!

Very clean, and modern phở restaurant. I order the chicken phở and broth was incredibly flavorful. Definitely a hidden gem.

By far my FAVORITE phở place! Not only is the atmosphere awesome, Anthony is the BOMB lol. He’s very friendly. The shrimp fried rice is great but I stick with the phở. It’s #1!!!

Well this place is as good as it gets. I like how small it is so it does not get noticed so I can keep it to myself mhuahaha. I had 2 massive spring rolls with pork accompanied by a pork sandwich and flan cake. Everything was well prepared and prepared quickly. The owners were nice and hospitable.

I was in the area and needed something yummy to go! I’d never been before, I wandered in, it’s tucked into the East side of a strip mall(opposite end from Elliot Bay Brewery). The interior was cute and as I would expect. As I entered, I was happily greeted, but also told their card reader was out of service. No prob, it wasn’t raining out and there’s 2 banks across the street. I ran over there and got some cash, dashed back to have a look at their menu(see photos) pretty expected fare. I wanted my usual favorites(grilled chicken vermicelli and shrimp rolls) so I got those — they had other options for the fresh rolls other than shrimp — and I couldn’t pass up the honey walnut prawns! Total came to just under $ 22 for the 2 apps and entrée. It took awhile for the food to be made probably 15 – 20 min. I wasn’t in a hurry. To be fair it was a slow Saturday night and I was the only one there. When I finally got home I was stoked to see my amazing spread. The prawns were some of my all time favorites, not too heavy on the sauce. The shrimp rolls were pretty par, not the best but good. The sauce was thinner than I like but tasty, I wish there was more grilled chicken on the vermicelli but it had a great season and sear that is hard to find. I work nearby so due to the time it took to get my food I am not sure if I can’t grab a quick lunch, but I will definitely stop by on my way home in the future. If the time improves I’ll definitely get it for lunch during my work day and let all my coworkers know. LOVETHEPRAWNS!

Slow service. The food tastes ok but when you have to wait 45 minutes for a bowl of Phở, then it really isn’t worth it.

I absolutely fell in love with Phở La Vang today! A hidden NEW gem in downtown Burien that reminds me of every authentic Vietnamese restaurant I loved when I was backpacking through Vietnam. The relaxing atmosphere and genuinely kind service from this family run business was matched by the exceptional dishes served. We shared a Bun Xiao(Vietnamese crêpe served with fresh greens and spices) and half way through the dish the aroma of star anise from our hot phở’ bowls made there way to our table. I think they season the broth with love because it was heavenly! The Vietnamese coffee was also the best I’ve had in the US. Thank goodness for a place this wonderful in Burien!!!

Phở La Vang hosts the winning combination of food taste and atmosphere. It’s comforting food — like home. It is my daughter’s favorite place to eat Phở. She is spot on — the soup is dark, clear, and flavorful — a satisfying combination of savory and sweet. The meat is thinly sliced yet holds the broth well. The tofu spring rolls combine traditional noodles, vegetables, and herbs with savory warm tofu, served with peanut sauce. photos and full blog at

Take out only review. Service was great, Server Anthony was very friendly. Beef Phở was great! Loved the broth and meat. Egg rolls were also good. There are lots of Phở places in Burien and I’ve been to many of them. This would be one of the best. It’s hidden back and small but it’s nice inside and appeared to be quite clean. I will return.

In my opinion the phở and spring rolls are the best around Seattle. Anthony is kind and attentive to all the guests. The service is outstanding. I’d take Phở La Vang over Green Leaf in any department(except of course the Bun– that really can’t be beat)

Pretty good all around. The food was okay to pretty good, the server was super absent, the restaurant was clean and the prices were on-point. My husband and I were in the neighborhood last Saturday for the Boo in Burien event. Before the dachshund races we decided to grab a quick light lunch. We both order the Rice Noodle Bowls(other places call them Salad Bowls). I ordered the Grilled Pork Skewer and my husband the Grilled Chicken. The food came out quickly enough, but the staff/owners were so busy moving the tables around and cleaning so thoroughly that they never checked on us and they never refilled our water. I personally liked the Noodle Bowl from Phở World out in Renton a lot more,(which is actually closer to where I live,) but this was a nice substitute.

A recent Sunday called me for lunch before work so here I went. It’s a nice, friendly place along this strip mall and the guy up front seemed unphased by my above-average menu perusing; he was good. I think I had a fresh avocado bubble tea and probably chicken fried rice(50% sure). Either way, my food turned out good, my to-go experience was smooth and friendly and I’d try again. 1 small ding is perhaps the ice-fruit ratio could be slightly adjusted(bit too icy; less tasty).

I found my new favorite Vietnamese spot. A family owned and operated restaurant in Burien. I am beyond ecstatic! I just LOVE Phở La Vang. The food here is so good. I’m still making my way through the menu, but thus far I have not yet encountered anything that I did not enjoy. The service is incredibly friendly and if you come here enough(like I do lol), the people who work here remember you and what you like to order. The place is absolutely beautiful inside and spotlessly clean as well. What I like to eat here: — Grilled Chicken Banh Mi. SOOOOOGOOD. I kid you not. I have never liked grilled chicken banh mi because every time I have had it anywhere, the chicken is more similar to a boiled consistency than grilled. Hate that. Here, it is actually grilled, when you order it, so it’s always warm and delicious. The meat to veggie ratio is perfect, so I never have to pick anything out of my sandwich. They clean the jalapenos, so the heat and flavor is there without being too intense. I believe these are around $ 4.25, which is a little spendy for banh mi, but totally worth it because it’s simply delicious. — Fresh Spring Rolls w/Shrimp. Yum. The rolls are huge and the vegetables taste incredibly fresh. The peanut dipping sauce is also quite good. This is one of the few ways I can get my 4 yo to consume green leafy vegetables, so if she approves, then you know it has to be good. — The phở is superbly delicious as well. I love that the broth is rich and flavorful without being too greasy. I don’t order this too often though, mainly because I have to be in the mood for it, but if phở is your thing, you won’t be disappointed. My only gripes: I wish they had a website, FB page, or even paper menus so that I could access the menu from home or on the go — this would really help me with take out orders AND the guy who answers the phone is very soft spoken, so sometimes it’s hard to hear what he is saying, but I am probably just experiencing hearing loss from years of listening to music on the highest possible volume setting. Call ahead for large orders as the service tends to be a little on the slow side due to the fact that this is, after all, family owned and operated.

I’ve been to this place a few times, the bubble tea is good but since I don’t go to Burien often, I’ve only been here a handful of times as it’s close to the performance arts center. The owners were never friendly and I don’t remember ever seeing a smile out of either of them, but I chalked it up to culture clash — until today. One of my best friends has a service dog for his PTSD, which is very severe. This man not only refused service and demanded to see the dog’s papers(which is illegal according to the Americans with Disabilities Act) and then when he complied and returned with proper information, the owner called the cops on him. I cannot, in good faith, support a business like this.
