I finally don’t have leave the area for some good ramen. Thank you Oishi Sushi! The service is stupendous. I am not sure if the restaurant is family owned, but it feels that way. The prices are reasonable for the portion you receive. My partner got a bento combo and it filled his tummy and satisfied his palate. I ate here during the week for lunch and was back the same weekend to taste another option of ramen. Both choices did not disappoint. Will be back soon.

Of all the sushi places we’ve been to since moving to Seattle, this place has offered the best value, quality, and selection. My favorite aspect is that the size of each piece in the roll is smaller than the average. Most sushi places in Seattle seem to make these GIGANTIC rolls and I hate having to consume in two bites(first world problems… Too much food). The service was also great. Rolls came quick and the atmosphere was relaxed.

I got a to go order yesterday and it was a great experience! The sushi chef took my order directly and suggested some fresh and special items I wasn’t considering like Uni and Sockeye Salmon which were both delicious. I was also able to modify a Philadelphia roll to include fresh rather than smoked salmon. They also included extra ginger and soy and chopsticks(sometimes it’s the little things). Service was quick and the price reasonable, and the most important thing — the sushi was well made, fresh and delicious~ Highly recommended!

The best rolls ever! They’re big and flavorful and made with great pride. The owners are so sweet and love to please their customers. We love The Seahawk, the Las Vegas and the Rainbow rolls!

Amazing food, quiet atmosphere. Got a lunch bento so much food I couldn’t even finish it! Handmade gyozas are to die for. Definitely recommend this restaurant

Wow, talk about mixed feelings. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time tonight. On one hand, I am thrilled to have a Japanese restaurant(not simply another teriyaki place) in Burien — super close. And their prices are very reasonable. On the other hand, I am really on the fence about the food! We ordered the seasoned chicken kaarage appetizer, Bento G(grilled salmon), and Curry Udon. Had water to drink and no sushi other than the California rolls that came with my meal. The place was empty when we walked in besides one other couple. To be fair though, we only ever saw 2 employees so I’m not sure how well they would have handled a crowd. Service was friendly and helpful. We didn’t need drink refills so I can’t say much in regards to speed. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. First was my miso soup and the appetizer. The miso soup was good and included seaweed, green onions, and small tofu pieces. The broth was much less salty than what I’m used to getting, but it wasn’t bland. From a health standpoint, I was happier it was that way. The kaarage was a little… Hmm, powdery? I’ve made something like kaarage at home before and I’m not sure what I do wrong but it has a slight texture of the starch. This was like that, but it wasn’t bad. Maybe it just had a slightly thicker layer of starch/flour. The also had seasoning on it which I wasn’t expecting. The seasoning looked like dried chilies(seeds at least) but the spiciness was so mild it was almost unnoticeable. The kaarage dipping sauce was unexpectedly thick, and tasted both to me and my boyfriend reminiscent of A1. I’m *not* implying they use A1, just that they accomplished a similar taste with a thicker texture. Texture reminded me of hoisin sauce. The Curry Udon came in a generously sized bowl and my boyfriend really liked it. He had to stop himself from drinking the broth because he is trying to watch his sodium intake. However, if you aren’t concerned, the broth didn’t actually *taste* salty, he is just being cautious since most soups are high in sodium. OK, the main comments I have to make are about my bento. The kaarage was different, but it was good. By contrast the bento was different and good in some ways and not good in others. The portion for the bento is fine. Not huge but not skimpy. The portion of salmon was a bit lacking, but since it is only $ 1 more than a bento with chicken, I was OK with it. The salmon was a bit dry in places but very good. The gyoza were absolutely delicious and crunchy. Dipping sauce for gyoza was very good(a light soy sauce and vinegar flavor which is my favorite). Then it got weird. The tempura was noticeably greasy, but the batter still looked thin enough. When I bit into one though, it was very crunchy! I say that because it was unusual, but I found I liked the crunch. The salad was really strange to me. It was a simple romaine lettuce salad with thin strips of red cabbage, but the dressing… I don’t know what to make of it. The flavor was good and normal but the texture was… Starchy? I couldn’t figure it out but it had a very unusual texture for dressing. The California rolls were good. Simple with shredded imitation crab mixed with something(a dash of mayo maybe?) and then cucumber and… I don’t remember but I’m sure avocado. They were more normal but it leads me into the most strangely off putting part of the whole meal — the rice! SOME of the rice under my salmon was MUSHY. I have never been to an Asian restaurant with bad rice. I don’t know how that happened, but rice was one of the first things I took a bite of and it set the rest of my meal off on a bad note. That said, I would still recommend it to someone looking for Japanese food and I would really love to try their Ramen, and maybe some of their other dishes. I would certainly give them a 2nd shot at the rice since I can’t imagine that was anything except a freak occurrence. The salad dressing was the only other thing that was off-putting at all. If you take those 2 factors out, it was a good meal and very reasonably priced.(Much less than I expected.)

Decent sushi, nothing family and a average price. Yummy and a nice atmosphere. We even had a child with us and they were very accommodating.

I don’t know why they have only 3.5 stars of review. I enjoyed the food every time I come here. It is a little slow for the dragon rolls but it was pretty worthy to wait.

Decided to finally try this place out and it was good! I had the shrimp tempura roll and the Burien Maki. They were both good. My bf had the Ninja and the Spider. I liked his better! They were all really good tasting and the owner was so sweet, he noticed we really liked the spicy mayo and asked if we wanted some on our second orders. I wanted to try the Panda Maki next but I was full by then. Overall happy to have found a nice sushi place in Burien with reasonable pricing for what you get. Will be coming back, my bf loved it.

Really delishious! Never thought I’d find a nice sushi place in burien. Would b 5 stars but it took a good long while to get my sushi hand roll. But so worth it! Defiantly more of a sit down place. If u order to go, call it in. Ps: they play the seahawks games.

The sushi is decent but overpriced, with few basic maki options on the menu. The rest of the dinner menu is hit or miss. It definitely benefits from its great location, I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

Yesterday, I ate sushi with a friend at the new place I never knew that we had in our hometown from where we live in. The owner he was very detailed and clear to show me and my friend what was on the menu and what kinds of rolls we could try, I felt we earned that respect and comfort to be eating here. I ordered the California roll and the Go Veggie Roll, that one was my favorite. :) Overall, a fair 4 star rating for this place. Until I come back next time, then we’ll see if it gets even better. ;D Thank you for your service Oishii Sushi!

So my hubby and I are sad, because now we have a delicious sushi place less than 5 minutes from home. We want to eat here all the time, but its gonna put us in the poor house! Oh the agony! Don’t let that comment lead you to believe this place is expensive, though, because it isn’t. I would say average prices, and good portion sizes. I was full after having gyoza and 2 rolls. Speaking of gyoza: They.are.perfect. Pan fried and steamed to perfection, get them! I got the Cherry Blossom Roll and the Rocket Roll last time, and both were delicious. The fish was fresh and the rice was fresh and moist. My hubby got the shrimp tempura roll and the spicy tuna roll, which he requested to be extra spicy. Amazingly, for the first time ever, his spicy tuna roll was actually extra spicy as requested! They topped it with their fresh jalapeño sauce, and he loved it. I also got the unfiltered raw sake, which was tasty with my dinner. Go here, you will be happy and satisfied. Can’t wait to go back again soon!

The only sushi place in all of Burien!!! Being the only one it is the best… also the worst. For me it falls somewhere in middle. The food is fresh and tasty and we ordered the four person family meal and it was a lot of food. As a person that doesn’t eat much sushi I enjoy the Tako(octopus) Ebi(shrimp) and the California roll. The sauces that came with the gyoza and calamari weren’t great but they were the traditional sauces that corns with those foods(plum sauce, tempura sauce). Nothing spectacular but not bad. The décor and scenery is very odd. It used to be a Mexican restaurant(I’m guessing) because the walls are the color I associate with stucco and the arched windows are a big giveaway. The bathroom is super cramp and not something I normally review but if you are a male(or adventurous female) sit on the porcelain throne and try and do your business with the urinal in your face and the toilet paper dispenser hanging over you like a flagpole swaying in the breeze! Good luck! All in all I enjoyed my experience, the staff was nice, food was good, but nothing struck me as great. Definitely worth a look

The reason why they’re getting a one star is because my sisters and I ordered at the same time. Ordered 2 udon bowls and 1 teriyaki dish. The udons came out within 10 mins(good start) but we’re still waiting on the teriyaki and the owner said its gonna be right out. After about another additional 20 – 30 minutes, we still haven’t seen the dish. Ask the owner again, said its coming right out. When it’s finally out, the dish was so simple and plain that it wasn’t even good and we wonder why it takes more than 30 minutes to cook the dish. The udons were salty and nasty(I can probably even make it better). Overall, owner was nice but their food need some work and also the timing. Definitely will not be back.

Oishi Sushi – please oh please get an additional cook and more wait staff. Otherwise, you’re pretty alright, just slow slow slow. One waitress and one chef, despite their politeness, is not enough. Even those who called in their orders were waiting 30+ minutes after their given pick-up time and, for some reason, were not allowed to have a drink while they waited. I love a long meal but the two times I came here the wait was so painful that I probably will not go back. I can advise you to disregard the comments about the ambiance. No, it’s not fancy or romantic. They just cleaned it up after the Mexican restaurant moved out. Please don’t base your idea of this place because someone else was offended by the paint color. It costs a lot of money to completely remodel a joint and I doubt they had that sort of disposable income. If you find the ambiance that offensive, go elsewhere.
