I am so sad this place is closed, I loved the food there :(

This place just closed down a couple weeks ago. Sad because this was a good cheap sandwich place. WAY better than the subway across the street.

I loved the build your own salad/sandwich option. The check off list made things very easy. The service was fairly quick and the food was simple and good.

4.5 Stars! I’ve passed by Honeydew Café so many times on my way to Subway or Chipotle and never gave it a serious thought. It looks kind of small and dingy from the outside, honeydew is that fruit that usually is leftover in the fruit tray people put out, and«gourmet sandwiches…» living in the area of Glendale I live in, the Armenian culture lures people in with«luxury» this and«gourmet» that and seldom is it. Then, as I was passing by I checked it out on Unilocal and was surprised by the number of good reviews. Eh, what the heck. I was the only customer at the time so I perused the menu at my leisure and decided on the club sandwich. It’s a little pricer than I’d like to pay with no sides included, but I’ll let it slide. The somewhat friendly woman took my order and disappeared off to the side where sandwiches are made. There was another woman helping out. Unless they had several call-in orders(which is possible) these two women took nearly 10 minutes to make my sandwich! I paid, headed back to my office with my brown paper sack, and opened up the bag. The sandwich looked awesome! First few bites and I was sold on Honeydew Café! I found myself singing their praises to everyone I walked by after I finished. The flavor, and texture, and combination was so good! Who knew? Well, I guess the other Unilocalers that tried this place out! I don’t think there’s much in the way for parking here, and next time I’ll call in and then go and pick up!

Honeydew café is the only place you should be getting your sandwiches from. These sandwiches were literally Bombay. I can’t describe it. They taste like there’s a few slices of love thrown in there. The Grilled 3 cheese bacon avocado sandwich was very tasty. Cheese was overflowing with fat slabs of avocado. This was a very very good sandwich, then I took a bite of the Muffeletta. My life was transformed. I was done. I tapped out. It was amazing. Grilled and smokey flavor, meat was abundant. Probably the best sandwich I’ve had in a long long while. You need a honeydew sandwich in your life.

My go to sandwich joint… Although I do get the spinach wraps there. Small place, great options and they’re Green Tea Smoothie with orange juice is amazing!

Was walking to subway and saw the 5.00 cold sub on the window, thought i would give honeydew a shot. It was delicious and very filling :) Everything else looks delicious and the drinks are fresh and affordable!

Every sandwich I’ve had here is delicious! Tuna Salad, Mufaletta, Chicken Salad, Club… all on toasty bread and tons of great flavor. Why anyone goes to subway across the street is a mystery to me!

This is really the tiniest building I have ever been in. The ladies that run Honeydew are SO sweet and very accommodating to vegetarians. Super fresh food, very intimate atmosphere, excellent service.

I honestly don’t know why anyone would go to Subway when Honeydew Café is right across the street, offering fresh, delicious sandwiches that don’t taste like you’re eating three pounds of lettuce wrapped in a yoga mat. This is a great neighborhood shop with a customizable menu that favors simple ingredients over fashionable foodie trends. Definitely a great spot to order lunch for take away.

Small little sandwich shop, however if you are on the go — and you want a sandwich that is better tasting and more«natural» than subway — this is a decent place to hit«the spot». Friendly to all types of eaters(i.e. vegans, vegetarians, and carnivores).

Skip Subway across the street and come here. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, and it’s got limited seating, but the sandwiches are AMAZING.

Ordered here today and I am very satisfied. The food was packed with flavor and pretty cheap compared to nearby restaurants. Took away one star because they didn’t have cookies and I like cookies.

Great sandwiches. Came here on a lunch break through a recommendation of a friends. Get the Turkey Havarti Melt. Very tasty and filling. The sandwiches are a little pricy but the portion is good and the sandwich itself is good.

I’m very picky about my sandwiches, this place knows how to grill them up right! Great prices, great service. Yummmmmy

They have good sandwiches. I would recommend this as a lunch time stop as it is way better than a franchise sandwich restaurant. They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. The place is very small so you have to go in, order and wait outside. There is a little bit of outdoor seating but for the most part it is probably an order to-go type restaurant.

Love this place! Great sandwiches and breakfast burritos. Try the tuna melt! Comes on white or wheat toasted French roll. Not your average sandwiches– delicious fresh ingredients at a good price. While you can’t really sit inside, they have a few tables and chairs outside, and the way they wrap it to go is great, in paper and paper bags. I think anyone who appreciates good simple food with great taste will love this place Great cold cut special!
