Darling Nikki’s Salon

I’ve been going to Ashley for at least 5 years and wouldn’t consider letting anyone else cut my hair. I literally plan my travel schedule around her availability. She also cuts my daughters hair and occasionally indulges them in funky pink or red streak. Armand is fantastic as well. She and her team are as talented as any stylists I’ve worked with personally and professionally, without a doubt. Literally can’t say enough good things about her and the salon. One appointment and you will be a fan too.

Cute salon & awesome service. I didn’t catch on to the name of the salon until I walked in & saw the big painting of Prince. They always have some kind of yummy treat & beverage available to clients. They also carry an extensive line of BB hair products.

My stylist Marisa is amazing! I was hesitant to get my hair cut shorter than what I’ve been typically getting but I found the cutest style in an online article and asked her for the same style. I am so happy with the results, so THANK YOU!

Ridiculously horrible place. Women beware!
I will not go into great detail of my visit at this salon. However, I will say that this place ruined my long hair (lower back length) that was perfectly healthy prior to visiting regardless of previous dyeing. The stylist Maureen, stupidly tricked me into thinking she could transform my dark brown hair to my requested burgundy. What she really did was give me orange zebra banded coarse hair. Ultimately, she destroyed my years of work of growing it out and has permanently damaged it. The amount of time it will take to grow out all of this coarse damaged hair will be years and years to come since it starts nearly at my roots. I actually had to get a refund and request that the owner re-​dye my hair back dark brown since it looked completely like a botched job. I loved my long hair and had no issues coloring it on my own. Unfortunately, now I can barely get a brush through it. The color that was put back into my hair to fix Maureen’s awful work completely faded out a few weeks later. I am now back to sections of my hair discolored and brassy with uneven coloration throughout. I will have to resort to continuously dying my hair dark on my own in hopes it will cover it up long enough to grow out healthy.
I blame myself for not questioning her methods more while I was there for over six hours and then again the next day to «get more color saturation». Stupid me to have thought someone who does this for a LIVING would know better.
I waited to post this review hoping my hair wouldn’t be as horrible as I thought it was initially. However, all I can say is you’re stupid if you go here and F this place that rips you off. Feel sorry for the owner since she seems like a nice enough person; unfortunately, some of her employees might be her downfall.

I am so glad I found Marisa. I’ve been going to her for almost 4 years and followed her to Darling Nikkis from another salon. She is so super talented! I have to get bang trims in between cuts because my hair just grows too quickly in that area for some reason, but it has been 2 months since my last cut and color and my hair still looks amazing, as if it was just done yesterday.
The salon itself is very clean and the staff are all pretty nice and very accomodating too. They have a great Pandora station that plays great 80’s tracks and current (KCRW kind of) stuff. I always find myself totally relaxed and looking like a boss when I leave the place.

I’m not a fan of going to «salons»… That being said I decided to skip my usual Barber Shop haircut and visit Darling Nikki’s.
The hours are more accommodating with my schedule. I called and was promptly booked with a hairstylist named Maureen.
The place was easy to find and they have free parking in the back. It’s super close to Porto’s so if you’re hungry before or after your cut you can stop by there,(and bring the girls some goodies, too!).
I found the salon to be girly but not so much so I felt odd being there. The colours were neutral and the environment and music was choice and as soon as it was known that I had an appointment I was asked if I would like something to drink by the very nice girl at the front desk.
Maureen was called from the back and I was greeted with an awesome smile and a sense of comfort. She quickly had me in the hot seat and ready to go.
I had some pics of previous haircuts that I had liked on me. Maureen looked through them and quickly went to work.
Maureen has an attention to detail I have never experienced at any barber shop. She switched from shears to clippers and was very in tune with the ebb and flow of my head and maneuvered it with ease and professionalism.
The conversation was enthralling and the hair style was spot on and painless, as it should be.
I will definitely be visiting Darling Nikki’s Salon in the future for more fantastic fades and will absolutely request Maureen as my stylist.
You should too! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Came in with a Living Social coupon. Marisa made my experience the best. She’s so friendly and funny. She did exactly what I asked and the results were amazing.

I am writing a review simply on the establishment itself… Not any of the hair dressers/​stylists, as my particular hair wizard only rents out a space at this salon every 2 – 3 months when she comes to visit Los Angeles to bright up my locks!
Darling Nikki’s gets the job done. There are 5 salon chairs, maybe 6, one being in a private room for… VIPs? Shy people? Sexy time? Who knows… Along with three hair washing stations, two dryers and a nice and large bathroom/​dressing room. Over all the facilities are clean and neat, however, there is something about this place I don’t like… Maybe it’s solely the name? Darling? Huh? Makes me feel as if I’m in a time warp whenever I go… I love getting my hair done because I feel revamped, however, it’s hard to feel fully MADE OVER when there is something about this establishment I just don’t like… Maybe it’s the dated exterior or MAYBE it’s the fact that my hair dresser used to rent space at a salon ACROSS THE STREET from where I live and I’m now bitter that I have to drive a ½ hour to see her when she comes to town? Any who… There is typically 2 hour street parking available on the street out front and I’ve heard through the grapevine that there is parking out back but I’ve never seen it so you can’t quote me on that…
Now if you want to make a DAY OF PAMPERING YOURSELF… There is a foot/​body massage place around the corner that is insanely cheap and incredibly amazing… That place makes my coming to Burbank, Darling Nikki’s in particular, all the more worth it… Oh and Porto’s, yeah, if you like baked goods, Porto’s is RIGHT THERE TOO.
If I were a hair stylist, I probably wouldn’t rent space here, but hey, you gotta do, what you gotta do!

I had a wonderful experience at this salon! Ashley did an amazing job with correcting my hair color, and the salon is relaxing and so clean! Arman did a great blowout for me as well. I’m so happy to have Darling Nikki’s in Burbank!

Love them! Everyone is super friendly and fun :) got a cut and color in just an hour and a half. Angelina was amazing. She really took the time to understand what I wanted and I left super happy. She even taught me a few tricks! Will definitely be back! GO HERE

I came across the deal on Groupon for Darling Nikki’s Salon. It was a good deal so I took a chance, and I’m glad I did. First of all when I called to make an appointment, I was told that it’ll be better to have consultation with the stylist. I was very impressed. I had my consultation with lovely Desire and a few weeks later went for color, cut and style. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I’m in love with Armen’s scissors and might start planning the wedding. Seriously, this was the best salon experience I’ve ever had, and my hair cut and color made me look instantly younger and hotter. I wish he could do my hair every day

Ashley did an amazing job on my husband’s hair. For the longest time, I’ve been trying to convince him to go to a reputable salon to get his haircut. Finally after a series of disappointed haircut after haircut, he finally decided to take my advice and get his haircut.
My husband got a messy spikey hair cut, and for the first time in the history of him getting haircuts since he’s been home, he walks away a happy customer. Ashley followed directions well on what he wanted done for his hair, and she was also very helpful giving him tips on best ways to style his hair.
I am so happy that his hair came out really nice, and I know he will be going back there again.

I have been a client of Tasia Lockhart’s for several years, and have recommended her work to very close friends. She is truly a stylist and colorist not just another person who makes a living cutting hair. Every cut is thoughtfully executed, I never leave the salon without looking my absolute best, and for me that’s hard as I am no beauty. She’s up front with you about what would look good on you and not afraid to to venture her opinion on what would not. I like that she is realistic with her customers.
She works her own personal magic with color, I never leave looking like I have a mass of single color hair. She layers the color on your hair subtlety if that’s the look you’re going for, or boldly if you want something more dramatic.
Added bonus, is that Tasia is a great and sensitive person and fun to talk to. Seeing and talking to her is always a highlight of my visit.
Did I mention that there is a convenient parking lot in back of the salon and Porto’s bakery half block away. Doesn’t get any better than that!

So not only were they able to get me in to get my hair done the next day, I got the queen bee herself! I lucked out bcuz this doll is booked! Busy! Yay me :) Ashley owns this gorgeous, clean, Prince inspired (oh hell yeah!) salon & damn was it worth it! I needed a cut & color, but I forgot about the: bleaching, cut then color and she handled me with grace :) I am trying to figure out how to add my pic, bcuz the cut & color are GD fantastic! First timers get 20% off, which hello! Since I bought product, that helped a lot. OH! And the music playing was kick ass… treat yo-​self!

Rosie is glorious, she’s been cutting my hair for years and I completely trust her, she gives amazing haircuts and always has good advice if I have any questions or fears. The staff is always sweet, Stephanie always offers water, tea or coffee when you come in. I haven’t had my hair cut by the others but I’m sure they’re just as awesome as Rosie! :)

I’m EXTREMELY picky about who touches my hair. So the fact I found a place and an amazing person who I keep coming back to. I have to share…
Darling Nikki’s is a cute salon. Everyone that I’ve interacted with has been super friendly and just good hearted people. They have a bomb picture of Prince, and I mean let’s be honest if you’re going to name your salon after a Prince song the place itself HAS TO be bomb, and it is!
My girl Natasha, is a cut and color genius. Every time I’ve seen her I’ve given her a color challenge and she does it with ease. I’ve never received so many compliments on my hair, until I started seeing her. I’m paranoid on getting my hair cut, but she knows exactly what to do with my hair to make me feel comfortable and for it to most importantly be healthy. Honestly she is THE BEST.
Truly love every experience going to Darling Nikki’s and seeing Natasha. You should most certainly check them out!

I’ve been getting my hair highlighted and cut from Jenn Bloom for about 4 years now! She is truly the best when it comes to color. My blonde highlights are always the perfect shade, and I never have to worry about getting any kind of weird orange tint. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair besides this lovely lady!
About the salon: It is super clean and cute and the receptionist and other stylists are very nice. The vibe is really laid back and cool :)

I just got my haircut from Rosie and she’s absolutely amazing. I’ve been coming to her for over 3 years now and she always does exceptional job with my hair. I just tell her what I want and she makes it happen. What I love about her the most is that she always listens to my opinion and uses her expertise to get me fabulous hair.
I’m very picky when it comes to hair but Rosie doesn’t leave any room for complains. She’s very sweet no matter how much hard time I give her during hair cut with all my demands. There are very few expert hairstylist who will listen to all your demands and make it a reality. I’ve gone to many hairstylists but I always come back to Rosie truly because of her knowledge and expertise in excellent haircut. Along with wet cut, she also makes sure my hair looks perfect after she blow dries it. She continues cutting my hair after drying it to bring perfection. She’s a gem to any hair salon and I had to share it with my fellow Unilocalers. So ladies if any of you want to look fabulous this summer please book your appointment with Rosie.

I’ve been going to Marisa for over 8 years now and won’t let anyone else touch my super thick, wavy and frizzy hair because she knows how to get it under control like none other! I always walk away from a haircut session with Marisa feeling like a million bucks and the feeling lasts for weeks because she is THAT good at what she does.
I followed Marisa from another salon and I’ll follow her everywhere she goes if she ever moves on. I’ve had the whole spectrum of services from Marisa, from a short a-​line bob, to long textured layers, plus color and even Brazilian keratin treatments. She’s rocked my world every time and I’ve sent many friends her way who have had the same experience!
