3 stars for the food. I ordered the chicken enchiladas w green sauce. It was okay. I’d don’t know that I will come back. 2 stars for service. Took forever to pay the bill. One of the staff just stood around avoiding eye contact until I walked up to her and asked to pay my bill. Isn’t it obvious what we are trying to do? All of us were standing near the register. I felt like just walking out.

For the price, the food is pretty good. The Chile Verde was a tad salty but still delicious and the meat was very tender. The wet burrito wasn’t anything special but very filling. I’d order it again, but maybe with the green sauce.

Make sure to reserve a lot of time prior to coming here. The service is slooooooooow. At least that was my first and only experience when I went there for lunch. There were two waitresses and one cook. However the restaurant was not busy at all. I got there late to meet my co workers. I told them my order(Chicken Enchilada). I remember it was past 20 mins by the time I got my order. I politely asked them to place my order in a to-go box. The checkout process was just as painful. It is always so complicated when you’re there with a group of people. But we all had to take our turns paying for our food one by one, which took another 20 mins. By the time I got back to work to eat my lunch, I thought it was just a-okay. Be careful when pulling into park or pulling out to leave, their lot is located right off of a busy highway.

Wow! This white boy and his Spanish family were passing through and hit this spot up. It was incredible. We had the mixed meat bowl with cactus, cheese, etc. if you are ever in town, it’s a must stop!

Pretty nice shredded wet chicken burrito. Outside plain and nondescript but inside clean and functional. A spot for the local blue collar guys and indy Mexican efisiantos.

Wow what can I say… If you’re looking for Mexican food, please, PLEASE look somewhere else. Anywhere else. Find any taco truck. If you are in the mood for terrible food with slow, indifferent service, served in a hot, loud room next to an abandoned motel and the railroad tracks, by all means go for it. To top of all of these benefits of eating at Candilejas, my daughter’s quesadilla was made with rotten cheese which she got sick from. Good times. Why anyone would give this place anything above 2 stars is beyond me.

What a great find near the Burbank Airport. I had the Chili Verde lunch special. It was unbelievable. The verde sauce reminded me of really fresh Indian curry. The beans were especially flavorful as well. Also, I judge Mexican places by their salsa. The salsa here is fresh and tasty. I enjoyed the food here a lot!!!

My wife and I came in on a Sunday based on a recommendations. It is a small restaraunt with not a whole lot of parking. Inside is no frills. It is what you would call a hole in the wall. However, they had a 3 peice Mariachi playing inside and it was a good atmosphere. I had the Ceviche Estillo Candilejas and it was ok. I don’t think the shrimp was left to marinate long enough as they were still a bit grey. It was tasty though. The star of the show is the Micheladas. I’ve been living in LA for almost 20 years and this is the best I’ve had. I dont know why, but they are delicious. Perfect combo of Modelo, spices and lime juice. Very refreshing on a hot day.

This is the best hole in the wall spot. They have the best ceviche and agua chiles. I recommend this spot.

So this is one of my favorite places to come enjoy a michelada. That’s one of the reasons I mainly come here. I had the ceviche and a coctel and the coctel let me down because they presented it with a bottle of what looks like a ketchup bottle. They use ketchup?! That was disappointing and the service was horrible today. There was barely anyone there either. It’s usually not like this. My friends were left thirsty. The food is great aside from the coctel made with ketchup. I don’t know how I feel about that one. Total let down today. Hopefully it won’t be like that next time because like I said I love their micheladas

Stopped here to eat before dropping a friend off at the airport in Burbank. Nice little place, clean and good service. The food was really good, we had carne asada burritos and enchiladas. Their chips and salsa was also pretty good, a little on the spicy side, but we really liked it. Would definitely eat there again.

Been here a few times on my lunch(because it the closes place from my job). The first 2 times I tried an asada burrito then I tried some tacos. They were not good. I didn’t like the meat. The last time I went I tried breaded shrimp and it was good. So maybe only the sea food is good. The Micheladas are really good! But the service is bad. Well everything I went I saw the same lady and she is not friendly, a bit rude I think. So 2 stars because they have good micheladas and the breaded shrimp was good.

I was under the weather and I was in the mood for some caldo de rez. The place is small yet cozy. The caldo was on point! It definitely met my needs. It was caldo para mí alma for sure!

Just had their menudo for breakfast and it was excellent! The down side was their corn tortillas were an extra $ 4 and weren’t any better than prepackaged tortillas. Maybe if the tortillas were awesome, but even for homemade tortillas $ 4 is overpriced.

Few tables were complaining about something. Only 5 tables with people and they act like is 20 busy tables. Food was good I guess after the wait. But I don’t think we will be back.

After reading some of the reviews I decided to give this place a shot. I have never been so unsatisfied with food and service, usually it is one or the other. When we arrived we were not greeted or seated. But the waitress did tend to us within a few minutes and took our drink order. 15 minutes later she finally brought the bland chips and salsa. 45 minutes later we were still waiting for our food. The waitress didn’t even stop by to check on us, refill drinks or ask if we wanted more chips and salsa while we waited for our food. Almost an hour later she finally brought our food and it was not horrible, but not great. Definitely not worth an hour wait. I ordered shrimp ceviche, one hour wait for a dish that does not require cooking! Waiting for our bill was another 10 minutes or so. I will note she was the only waitress, she had about 10 tables of two people each and a couple tables with 3 – 4 people. I give this place one star because my beer was cold.
