I attended this school in the mid 80’s and some of my most fondest memories are of going to this school. The friends I made, the teachers, and the activities. My daughter now goes here and is in her first year with Mrs. Wernstrum and Miss Martin and she loves it! This school is play based and allow volunteers at any time. My favorite part of being a mom with a child that goes here is that I am able to help in the class, I like that classes are small enough to where I am close with my daughters teachers. They remain in very close contact and will contact you if there are any issues that need to be addressed. There is a lot about this little preschool that has stayed the same in the past 30 years, the wooden boat that stays in the play yard, the sand box, and the school still smells the same as it did the first day I stepped foot inside the school. I recommend this preschool to every single parent that is looking for a place for their child to have a wonderful learning environment. Top notch directors and staff to help mold your child’s future!

My husband and I couldn’t have picked a better preschool for our 3 year old daughter! The teachers provide an environment that promotes a learning through play philosophy so children actually enjoy the time. We have been thrilled with our daughter’s level of development. She absolutely loves going to school to learn and socialize with her friends. Mrs. Clark and Mrs. Beltran are wonderful teachers that genuinely love what they do and the children they teach. BFUMC Nursery School also has the option to extend preschool by an hour for a lunch period. This is optional and parents can opt in whenever they’d like. This is helpful for busy parents that need more than just 3 hours to get things done.

The best preschool in Burbank. They have an amazing philosophy of teaching. The teachers are smart, educated and on the forefront of new techniques. There is a lot of parent/​teacher interaction and lots of opportunities for parents to get involved. Parents are informed of everything going on in the classrooms, including lists of what books are read and what they are learning each week. There is an amazing sand yard, where kids are encouraged to «get dirty,» by making «rivers» and playing in the sand in creative ways. There is also a garden, where students get hands-​on experience with gardening and composting.
The main play yard has different «stations» set up each day, where students can choose on their own what interests them. Every day is different — there might be trains, blocks, art, books, water tables, dinosaurs, dollhouses, etc. set up. Each day is a new experience for the kids, yet there is routine, too.
The grounds are EXTREMELY safe and the staff makes sure pick up is as smooth as possible.
There is a parent committee, where parents can participate in planning fundraisers, as well as campus activities.
There is a lot of interaction with the other parents in the children’s rooms. The room parents often host get togethers and meetings and there are several meetings with the teachers throughout the year. At the end of the year, children receive a binder with artwork and «journals» from throughout the year. Photos that the teachers take all year are also included in the binders.
Having tried some other preschools in Burbank, none can compare to Methodist.

Our 4 year old daughter goes to school here… we love it! The early childhood education program here is considered among the best. Their program is accredited thru the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). We feel comfortable with the staff there as they are highly caring and genuinely care about the children.
