S&S Ace Hardware & Mower

This is a follow-​up to my earlier post of 2÷7÷2016. Scott, the owner of S and S, called me and we worked everything out. In my view, that is all a business owner can do in a situation like this. No one is perfect and mistakes will inevitably be made. I appreciate his taking the time to call & send a follow-​up e-​mail.

Love this store. Great team and merchandise is priced the same or lower than the big store. Would much rather shop local. Ace is the place in Buford.

Took in a mower under warranty for repair. They took a deposit of thirty dollars. Told technician to call me first before any repairs. Call a week later, since I had not heard from them. The guy answering the phone tells me, yep the mower is ready and your total comes to $ 130. My jaw just dropped. Spoke with manager to no avail. Learned my lesson. Never have anything repaired here.

A great hardware store. Lots of helpful employees and great service. They reseated a mower caster tire for me free of charge. I will certainly have them service my Toro Zero-​turn and my Stihl products.

Dropped off my weed wacker on Thursday for fix. got a call today that it was ready, tested it in the parking lot and still have same issue after they charged me $ 30 to replace the pull string and spring. will wait for their repair the second time. I will update a review on how that goes after it get it back.
Went back and had the same issue. So disappointed with this location that I didn’t ask for my money back. Very disappointed. DO NOT USE THIS DEPARTMENTS services.

Epic fail. Had a screen fixed (outsourced). Poorly repaired. They should stick with filling propane tanks and small parts. However they are overpriced for that too. There is a warehouse club in Cumming offering propane for under 10 bucks for 20lbs. Sorry guys. Your Unilocal reviewers must work for yall. Not as wonderful as your reviewers claim.

Today Ace had a chance to create a raving fan and they did. I had a gifted item that I had never opened and wasn’t sure of its original purchase location. I went to a local retailer that I frequently shopped for «Green Egg Items» and they quickly turned me away with no receipt even though I had purchased many items in their store. I remembered Ace also carried this Green Egg Brand of items and so I stopped in to see if they would consider allowing me to exchange it towards a different Green Egg Item purchase. The same offer I was trying with the previous retailer.
Everyone I spoke with was eager to work with me and quickly got me to a store manager Jason (the manager) I believe to make the decision if they could take the exchange. He wanted to help and allowed me to swap it towards a different item.
I understand all stores have policies and procedures, but sometimes in situations like this, you have to see the forest and not just the trees. Ace will get all my Green Egg purchases going forward. Thanks guys for remembering how to take care of the customer!!!

I really like this store… I have come here several times because they have a special brand of charcoal I use. The employees are always friendly and offer to help. For not being a big box retailer like HD or Lowes, they have a big selection. They sell everything from Carhart clothes to professional lawn equipment.
I will continue to patronize this business.
